When Led Zeppelin heard that they were being honored, they invited Jason Bonham to be with them in the honorees section. He turned them down because he said that he had a previous engagement. Little did they know that the previous engagement was playing with Heart, to honor them.

That is the ribbon that holds all the medals when an artist is honored at the Kennedy Centre Honors! The drummer in Led Zeppelin, John Bonham has died and Jason Bonham is playing in this tribute to honor the band and his father. It was a complete surprise to the band who had asked Jason to accompany them to this event. Jason had to decline because it was a surprise for them. I cannot imagine playing that guitar solo... in front of the guy that WROTE that guitar solo.... you watch his eyes... he is playing every note in his head, and his smile shows he is very well pleased..... for perspective... Jimmy Page was born in 1944, during WWII.

He's crying. Stairway To Heaven is Led Zeppelin's Baby. Very Iconic. Led Zeppelin's journey was straight FIRE! Also they're missing their fourth man Bonzo and wishing he was there to get that love and honor. (Robert and John were very very close). Plus Bonzo's son Jason is like a little Bonzo who was born into their band and he's like their Dear Son too..in a way. Nostalgia, Love, Painful Loss and all kinds of emotions coursing through this moment for them..
    So Robert cries..

No one could do a better cover than Heart. Anne was 62 at the time and can still sounds amazing. This is just an awesome performance and brings tears to my eyes. Heart does like to play Led Zeppelin’s music over the years. They were so touches by Heart’s performance along with the whole production. Jason Bonham on the drums with the bowler hat was honouring his dad who had passed away years earlier. The bowler hats worn are a nod to Jon Bonham. Love your reactions. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that's what was happening. Zepplins Career was being honored by Kennedy center. Those were medals, with rainbow colored necklaces. There were many artists there to play there songs that night. This was the finale. The drummer is the son of Zep drummer John Bonham, who died in 1979. It was an emotional night for the remaining three band members. N no worries, you are doing an excellent job of learning and absorbing all this new info. Btw, please react to Zep doing stairway live at Madison Square Garden. It's incredible. Also, Ann n Nancy idolize Zeppelin....even though both active through 79s. Heart has done many Zep covers. .... Robert plant doesn't like covers of his music, but loved the way Ann does it...🙂

🤗OMG!! I support this awesome comment section wholeheartedly.... you need to start a Led Zeppelin Journey!!! Your reaction was so awesome but the fact that u didn't even know the song, who Led Zeppelin is in the scope of music history (and thier impact was/is HUGE) or the fact that Led Zeppelin was being honored here a (as a British band) for their contribution to the American culture and performing arts is a bit of a bummer... you would've been even more blown away had you known the true significance of this iconic tribute to Zeppelin. No worries, love your channel and your sincere reaction....
BUT PLEASE revisit this song with Zeppelin's studio version (released 1971 on their 4th album) and then follow up with their iconic 1973 live at Madison Square Garden performance.... you will get a better understanding for who they are and why they are considered the world over as one of the most influential bands of all time.
Sorry for the long comment😅 but this band is that important in music history! Period!👊💯 You'll soon find out! lol!!😁 Peace and light to all...✌💞

That IS Led Zeppelin watching and being honored...Robert Plant is teared up, both Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones are also very emotional. When John Bonham, the original drummer died in a plane crash, the band broke up then went on to play one more concert. Jason Bonham, John's son surprised them by playing the drums with Heart at this event.....What an incredible tribute especially having Heart, Anne & Nancy Wilson play one of the most iconic songs ever written....I'm so glad you were able to see this....

The 3 guys with the rainbow necklaces, which are the awards they just received are the 3 remaining members of the group Led Zeppelin, the 4th member the drummer, John Bonam, died in 1980. The drummer with Heart was the son of John. He was actually playing his father’s drum set. When Ann sang the word Heaven at the very end you notice that Jason gazed up to the heavens in a loving jester to his father.

That being said, I can see what you mean about Ann’s vocals being drowned out. She is so powerful that she holds her own to the choir and band but she becomes a bit of a lesser element in the whole blend. She is one of the best rock vocalists ever and she performs this song perfectly

Led Zeppelin wearing "rainbows" as a result of the Kennedy CenterB Honors' tribute to them. The white-haired "old guy" is Jimmy Page, the great guitarist that you watched playing a double neck ax. The "old guy" in the center, crying, is Robert Plant, lead singer of LZ.
