    China is such an amazing country - you can go water skiing in the southern tip Hainan Island, and then fly northward to ChangChun for snow skiing, just like Amy's done.
    Snow skiing is quite a new winter sports in China, therefore many beginners might use turtle pads, protectors, etc. Hope the winter sports will be more popular in China.
    Cold noodle is also a common dish in Korea, since the city Changchun is so near to the Korean border, and there are many Korean Chinese in the city. We share the same culture in the area.

      @@troyliu990 Everything will take time. Nobody is going to wake up rich suddenly. The progress China is making, the locals will benefit. Not many understand why Belt and Road Initiative is so important. These projects create wealth from external to bring into China. Because a country can never be a cheap manufacturing hub forever. China is also moving up the value chain too. Not many country in this world can achieve or plan to achieve what China has put in placed. Hence you see those countries after their initial impetus into manufacturing falter to reinvent itself. The five Tigers for example.

    • @Danderman888
      @Danderman888 Год назад

      Reading all the other replies here, I can't help realising how misunderstood are the intentions of the PRC leadership.
      For one, I do not see the Belt and Road initiative as a purpose of enriching China alone, implying another way to perpetuate the Western capitalist concept. I see it as a more altruistic intention to provide assistance to the rest of the world, especially those that have been lagging behind. I believe the real intention is based on a more noble believe of creating a more all inclusive global society by lifting more people out of poverty, laying the foundation for one that is more meritocratic and egalitarian.
      I know this concept may seem too idealistic and impossible to achieve for most, but I really do believe we can achieve that end, which I also strongly believe is a conception shared by the leadership of China.

If there's any piece of advice that you should impart to a novice skier, it's that you should invert your skis into a shape of a pizza slice to decelerate/brake. Or better yet, start off with cross-country to get accustomed to the balance before attempting downhill because it's one hell of an adrenaline rush if you're navigating down a steep hill without mastering how to brake.

    I have never seen safety gears like these turtles while skiing, but make sense for precautions.

    First time saw skier newbie wearing a turtle😂. These are most often used by snowboarder beginners. BTW, go to Chongli for skiing if you live in Beijing, it’s quite close

    I know this driver concept from Korean TV. They are called designated drivers. But I had no idea the service existed in China, as well. I've never tried the service in real life.

    Daijia(代驾)has been in the market for a few years, at least as far as I remembered since like 2015 or 2016. But yes, if you don't own a car, it's hard to notice this kind of business.

    What a well planned day! Amy improved her skiing skills. I can tell Amy was impressed by Derk's planning especially the restaurant and bar in the end. In the middle, the cold noodle is a Korean national dish that I never understand. It is a black colored thin noodle served in cold soup topped with crushed ice. The sidings: egg, meat and veggie are all cold in the soup with ice.

    oh hey, a hot version of Mul naengmyeon. it's made with a lot of starch(usually buckwheat but also potato or kudzu or some other root) so it's super elastic like no other noodles. i love the cold version, even during winter, never tried it hot before.

(2) Been living in China 5+ years now and I never knew about that pickup APP...how cool is that! (3) thank you for another amazing video...I haven't been skiiing in about 10 years...now I will go next month for my birthday.

    The turtle guards look awkward but they are so practical. Wish they have those in Japan's ski resorts which will definitely give me the courage to try skiing without getting injured.

      I both ski and snowboard and you don’t need the butt protection for skiing! You can’t even reach the snow with your butt when you’re in your bindings. Just watch a few beginner RUclips videos and you will see if is very doable, you can do it!! Just remember pizza (wedge) and turning = slows you down, french fry (parallel) pointed down the mountain = makes you go fast, and to stop and stand still on a slope, stand parallel to the mountain (with the mounting peak on one side of you and the bottom on the other side of you). Oh, and if you need to walk up a slope, walk either staying in parallel position to the mountain, or do a ice cream cone (reverse pizza wedge) facing up the mountain.
