    Hey, thank you so much for covering The Tale of Tasha and Nima! We happened upon this video yesterday and couldn’t believe it was being covered after our long hiatus, but we were extremely happy to see the positive reaction to it!
    We read through all the comments excitedly, and while we don’t want to spoil anything, there’s been a lot of really good observations about Tashi and Nima and the lives they’re going to live from this point forward.
    Without getting into too much detail, there were some health issues and other life events that pushed us into an extended hiatus way back in 2018. In the meanwhile, TristanArtSD went on to work on a different comic - The Adventures of Terrik Zion. Sometime in 2019 we tried returning to work on TaN, but we discovered we didn’t have enough time to work on two comics simultaneously.
    We’ve long wanted to return to working on Tashi and Nima - the script has been complete for many years, so all that’s left is to produce comic pages. We recently decided to get back to putting out pages again, (although at a slightly slower pace than before, perhaps once every two weeks), and when we came across this video, (to quote Ozai LOL) we took it as an “act of providence”!
    If you’re interested, we’ll have info and updates available over on Twitter (@TashiandNima).
    Thank you again to the ATLA fan community and a huge thanks to The Avatarist for the kind words and the coverage of our humble project!

    I think the most tragic part of this comic is that, as someone whose watched the show, you already know NONE of the air nomads save for Aang survive. So when we follow these side characters trying to escape, we get this false hope that maybe they’ll make it out, but that feeling of dread is still there; you’re just about to see HOW and WHEN they die.

    • @2EdogawaConan
      @2EdogawaConan 2 года назад +53

      There might still be hope because after seeing LOK I'm sure that there are definitely survivors that managed to integrate themselves into the earth kingdom, away from the fire nation. Hence when the portals were re opened the descendants of those survivors awakened their dormant bending

    • @zabonk5436
      @zabonk5436 2 года назад +43

      They could've survive and integrate themselves in the Earth Nation like the guy above me said
      Remember, the Air Temple Raid happen 112 before the show start, that's enough time for Tashi and Nima to grow up and each start their own family and die
      Tashi and Nima might think themselves to be the Last Airbender for years until their eventual death.
      their children, without guidance from air monks teaching couldn't possibly airbend properly, and would marries off other earth nation and nonbenders, diluting the airbendign ability to a level of non-existence
      And their descendant only know they are Airbender during the Harmonic Convergence in TLOK several decades later
      So there is almost 2 century gap of Airbenders disappearance from the world of Avatar

    One of the things I never understood about the Mass Genocide of the Air Nomads is how did fire beat out air. Even if they were supercharged by a comet all the air nomads had to do was create hurricane winds strong enough to snuff out the fires. When air works against fire it cannot survive. This is basically what you’re doing when you blow out a candle. The air blown from your lungs is pushing against the flame rather than blowing with it which would cause the fire to spread.

    Let's not forgget Monk Gyattsu probably went full on Doom Slayer mode on the fire nation, he got cornered by hundreds of the best soldiers the fire nation had at the time while said soldiers were amped by the comet, yet he still took out several of them, dude went out like a boss.

    Depsite the Air Nomad Genocide being one of the biggest part in the beginning of the hundred year war, We never got to see what actually happened right before or during the genocide just ruins of what came after it. We should at least get some piece from it.

      As for Korra excluding Book 2 i liked the series,far above other series of that type even if it wasnt as good as ATLA ofcourse

    5 Reasons The Air Nomads Were Easily Wiped Out:
    1: They were pacifists.
    2: They have no military to protect them from danger.
    3: They were betrayed by one Air Nomad man named Afiko from the Southern Air Temple who revealed all the secret locations of all the Air Temples because he was jealous of Aang being the Avatar.
    4: They were ambushed.
    5: The Imperialist Fire Nation army of firebenders had the advantage because of Sozin’s Comet which enhanced their firebending, they had technological powerful weapons, and they flew on dragons to reach all the Air Temples to cause mayhem.
    (Very depressing, may they all rest in peace.)

    It would have been so cool if this was in the show. Maybe instead of the great devide, we could have had an episode titled ''Aang alone'' where Aang goes on his own and gets to witness the entire ordeal unfold in a vision and later on comes to term what happened and that what would later inspire him to recreate the air nation after the hundred year war.

    the part of the air nomad genocide that really fucks me up is gyatsos dead body. He's sitting in asuch a casual meditative position, dozens of fire nation soldiers at his feet dead in a fight..It suggests that gyatso actually survived the onslaught long enough to huddle in this corner, to kill off the soldiers coming toward him. But he got injured to the point he would slowly die..probably from blood loss or famine. He sat there waiting, probably for aang to return, for who knows how long.

    I’d actually love now with avatar studios an adult prequel movie or series dealing with the end of Roku through the early years of the war. It could have grown with the audience who are mainly adults now (of original viewers I mean, new fans are all ages which is great!) and show more realistic violence and even handle minor gore
