would advise adding this hole near the outlet to prevent an air lock condition in the event the pump continue to run when water has dropped below the impeller. You may notice the pump already has a small hole at its base but it is still possible to have excess air build up whereby prevent water from getting pumped because the air was not able to be purged.
In case any of you Zoeller reps are watching, this is why I’m trashing my 3rd dead Zoeller pump in 8 years and going with Liberty. Steve’s telling the facts!

Whom I bet all that Zoller pump needs is a new switch for the float. I have replaced many of these switches, and is much cheaper than a whole new pump. Just last month i changed out a bad switch in a Wayne sump pump. Also replaced the pressure switchs on several Little Giant 6CIA pumps over the years. Sump pumps are not cheap, and about 98 percent of the time it's the float switch that fails, not the motor.
Save the cord ! If it's in good shape! I save the cords for using on garbage disposal installation, the cord kits are getting too expensive! Usually, the cord will fit into the connector area on the bottom of the disposal!
I love Zoeller, but have 2 a the moment with bad water filled switches. If you use Zoeller you need to use auxiliary float switches, then they last forever. Today I am buying my second Liberty to give them a try. The classic M-53 with attached float is not on my list anymore.

Steve ever since Zoller redesigned their pumps for Home Depot a few years ago adding plastic all their switches are failing. Chuck of Apple Drains has been starting to replace a lot of the ones he has installed within a two years of instillation. They come with a 3 year warranty. That has to be handled with zoller directly. Have to sent the defective pump back to them for a replacement or refund. which is a real pain in the butt. I think their affluent pump is made a little better than the others. I just can not remember the model number.
looks like he forgot about gravity somehow when he cut into that pipe. typically and ejection pump is there because its below grade and needs to be forced out to a section or location where it can drain out with correct grade.
shouldn't need to drill a hole in the pipe if there's an airlock hole already on the pump. those people wanted you to do that but the customer is not always right.

Hello there!
In case any of you Zoeller reps are watching, this is why I’m trashing my 3rd dead Zoeller pump in 8 years and going with Liberty. Steve’s telling the facts!
The switches are such an issue the Company won't even recognize it.. Losers..
I have to replace my ejector pump soon. The current one is a 17 year old Zoeller. Are the new ones no good?
9:30 ... I like that extender for the electrical plug.
Happy Fathers Day! Steve
GOOD MORNING RODNEY.....THANKS
Does the liberty pump come with the float switch?
Steve. Are you putting in 1/2 or 1/3 horse power Liberty pumps in?
Happy Father's Day Steve!

Use Teflon before you thread it on, it will make it easier to take off next time
No dope/fritz? PVC threads nice and easy with it. What's with the hole in the pipe deal?

My little extension made all the difference too.
Spot on Steve. I only sell Liberty because the switches on zoeller have been falling on the newer models
are they failing simply b/c water is entering the housing? A little silicone goes a long way! Cheap too.
