I use a similar pump on my koi pond. Nothing clogs it up. Send output to a strainer with cleanable basket before heading over to filter and uv light. Next level mama.
In my state (NJ) no purple primer is an automatic fail on inspection day. I wish we could use clear. The joints look so much nicer especially on vertical runs when all the purple runs down the pipe! Plus it stains ANYTHING! Great job Steve. That school is a good customer!
Wow, the replacement part is half the size.. I would have put a liberty 1hp grinding pump at least.. the cheapest little zoehlor isn't going to last long.. I can get that pump for less than$200.. it's extremely limited and definitely not a commercial typical.. some people are just cheap, but at least tell the truth to the consumer. I promise, that pump is not rated for this application.. but I love Steve and I appreciate all his stuff.. I believe that I must be honest with everyone regardless.. Robert Jr NJ here Asbury Park
Most likely that alarm transformer is tied to same circuit as pump. So when pump trips breaker alarm stops too. Alarms and backup pumps need to be on a separate circuit and if possible on a different leg of the main service.
we gotta use purple for anything plumbing here in PA. clear is OK for appliance venting though. hey Steve, i think it's time for some pants that fit! you're not that big guy anymore. treat yourself with a 32" waist pants size, lol. good video.
i gotta do this soon at my house i was thinking should i clean out the big debris if there is some in the pit like rags or what not after i get it kinda drained i never see anyone else do it but would be afraid of something getting in my brand new pump.
I believe the elbow was to keep the turbulent down to a minimum. Toilets with Sloan flushers put out a lot of water and could make the pump short cycle. Just an observation.
There was a check valve already installed, that was the black fitting about 3 feet out of the pit. And yes that was kinda rough looking for the electrical. But how would you put a grommet on a cord with a molded plug? The alarm wire that's no problem, just slip it through the grommet. Maybe if you had a slotted pit cover you could slide them into place and seal with silicone. But you have to work around what they have setup.
My brother had an old house with a dug out basement and they had a commode down there with a sewage pump. It never went out but the original sign remained from the guy who rigged up the basement Shitter: " Treat this commode like a marine head, never place anything in it that has not previously been eaten"
I hung my float switch lower so the pump would be out of the waste after pumping out...pump might last longer !! That is where the old switch was attached !!
Nice work Steve, thanks for taking us along!

I suspect the purple primer manufacturers have it in with code inspectors there. $$
+Fireship1 You are correct. I am also in NJ, and the inspectors want to see purple on the PVC joints.

Steve, thanks for the video, good info on how to change.
Sounds like the kids are having fun upstairs.
Another job well done. I'm not a plumber but I enjoy watching the plumbing videos. Do you do more hvac work or more plumbing work?

honestly if ppl wanna go the extra mile think a new check valve while you have this all open is prolly a good idea to.
Great job! Are there any codes for any states about having an actual relay controller for the pump or is it just optional? Excellent as always!
Do you clean off your tools after?
Embalming shop plumbing is even more fun than the poop pumps
@@waterheaterservices Now thats next next level......Uhg

You must have been quite the arm-wrestler in your day.

Was it just me or did that sprinkler system compressor make you jump when it kicked in? Lol
