ChillROC you are an inspiration and a great Man. The wisdom you bring to a conversation can't help but open eyes to the deeper truths we all struggle to grasp. Keep being the change you want to see!🙏❤️🕊️
I'm midway through a second viewing. Chilling with Chill is all good but the community makes it twice as nice. You guys are awesome. Glad to be part of it. Thanks. Wishing all the best.
The last part is transmutating the lesser metals (Lead)(anger snd identificstion) Into the higher metals (gold) (Love, compassion, forgiveness, clarity, healing)
Thx for checking it out and thx for the shout out bro! Keep going with Your Tool journey, you Can’t Miss no matter what you choose to listen too. Blessings always
Hey man I know you say most people don't watch to the end of the video and I've been one of those people more often than not but wanted to say thank you for putting it all out there anyway because that shit made me feel not alone so thank you
This song is built off of a mathematical formula called the Fibonacci Sequence, which is often associated with esoteric spirituality. It also uses musical polyrythms in certain parts, which is why the time sounds on point but also hard to follow. Playing polyrythms is harder than it sounds! Anyway, new to your channel and loving your reactions. Keep it up man!
@@JuicySommelier I nvr would have known if someone didn’t explain it to me in comments. First I’m spiritually consitipated, 2nd my creative to math are extremes of each other. As in I scored in the 99th percentile in reading comprehension & my maths percentile when graphed out, was a sheer drop off. I literally only passed algebra bc my teacher didn’t want me in her class again the next year. On top of that I got into Tool later then a lot of hardcore fans, so I feel like I missed a lot.
I personally love Tool as my top number 1 band, been listening since about 1997. I like when the explanations are given to new Tool listeners. Tool fans are Tool family. We are in it together. ✌
The first lines with the colors refer to the principals of alchemy and metaphysics. "Each color represents a phase that is entered into in the work: The first four color terms - black, white, red, and yellow - are also the primary color terms embracing the entire alchemical opus: nigredo, albedo, xanthosis or citrinitas, and iosis or rubedo. These color terms describe: (1) stages of the work; (2) conditions of the material worked on; and (3) states in the psyche of the artifex or worker-alchemist.” ", as non-color, black extinguishes the perceptual colored world. Second, the blackening negates the “light,” whether that be the light of knowledge, the attachment to solar consciousness as far-seeing prediction, or the feeling that phenomena can be understood. Black dissolves meaning and the hope for meaning. We are thus benighted. Third, the two processes most relevant for producing blackness -putrefaction and mortification - break down the inner cohesion of any fixed state. Putrefaction, by decomposition or falling apart; mortification, by grinding down, as seeds in a mortar are refined into ever thinner and smaller particles.”
"As below so above push the envelope watch it Bend" I interpret that as the rich wealthy people and then the poor people if they switch places "push the envelope watch it bend" that means to me that the rich people would be doing the same things the poor people are doing to survive bcuz that's what happens when you put people in that situation so they're so hypocritical labeling us but they would be doing the same thing if it was reversed that's how I interpret that but I could be wrong too luv ur videos I watch you everyday Thanks 4Sharing
Believe it or not, this band sounds better live. Something about the pic hitting the strings that makes it not so produced and a bit more metallic. The drummer is amazing and works his ass off beating those drums. The singer? Crisp and clean... doesn't miss a note. Tool truly is legendary. If you ever have the chance to see them live, go. I saw them twice the year this album came out. I think it was 2005. First show was in Trenton, the second was in Philly. In Trenton, they played mostly newer songs. Philly they played some older ones. In Philly, I had floor tickets. Don't do that. Get a seat and enjoy the show. Dumbasses want to mosh and cause trouble. I had to push a big dude that kept bumping into people and knocking us around back about twenty feet. This while I was right in front of the stage. I got quite a few pats on the back and thank yous from people who just wanted to witness the greatness.
Youll be happy to hear that all inside venue TOOL shows are seated now. Even the floor. Everyone on the floor stands, but they stay in one spot. No more GA unless its a festival.
I don't know about your actual vision when you are an infant. Maybe you do see only black and white. But I think it's more of a statement of growing older and starting to understand details and nuances in every situation.
Vox actually did a video on that idea about 3 (don't quote me) years ago where they covered a study in which researchers found that, linguistically speaking, words for "white" and "black" come earliest because it's simpler to differentiate contrast, and then determine color and shade. I also believe they made a mention in that video that, after the contrast, vibrant colors like red and yellow are easiest to distinguish. Hopefully, my comment makes sense!
As with most Tool lyrics they can be interpreted multiple ways. But yes, newborn infants can only see in black and white with shades of gray until roughly 4 months of age. The ability to see and distinguish colors then slowly progresses.
Dang, was hoping you’d say something about the song after it was over instead of just peacing out. That was disappointing since you seemed to enjoy it and since your title had such a strong statement to make. Give us some thoughts next time!

When you just explain it to someone you just give it away and rob them of the opportunity to discover it for themselves.
