    Thanks for the clear instruction and dry humor! I used to tie the very basic ‘Oriental Knot’ but a lot of people commented on how bad it looked. The full Windsor used to intimidate me but I finally got it down! Took me more like 5 minutes and a few tries (thin end was way too long first 3 attempts), but I got it and I look sharp 😎

    My father taught me the Windsor knot when I was 12 years old, almost 60 years ago, and it's the absolute best way to tie a tie. One more addition to this knot can take place when you loop the wide end through the last time so it finally hangs in front: when you pull gently you can come up with a nice notch or dimple in the tie just at the knot that adds a nice finishing touch. It's a beautiful symmetrical knot.

    • @thatxonexguy5438
      @thatxonexguy5438 2 года назад

      It being symmetrical is the reason why i like this knot. A lot of people hate this knot because of that, but a four in hand or any other asymmetrical knot just looks awful abd sloppy as if you dont know how to tie your tie properly.

    Patrick, I've been tying ties since I was a teenager, but have only recently become interested in tying full Windsor knots (after watching several seasons of Suits on Netflix! 😁). I have looked at several RUclips videos on how to tie them. Most of the presenters did an exemplary job in tying them, but I just wasn't getting the tie right, at least not consistently. When I ran across yours, your explanation about how wrapping the blade of the tie to make shoulders for the knot was a game changer for me, it all made sense! My only suggestion would be for the users to pinch the very top of the tie as they pull it through the final time to give a dimple. Your presentation was brilliant! Thank you. Great job...

    You deserve a subscribe and like and all the accolades! I had watched so many RUclips videos on this over the years and have never succeeded in getting a good Windsor knot and now I got a job requiring me to wear suit and tie everyday and the buddy I used to tie them moved far away. For some reason I stumbled upon your video and it clicked, I tied my tie and went and tied 10 more of my untied ties. I was doing the last step backward. Thanks
