This was very helpful. One tip that I have is that I use 2 cups of water. One cup to dip my brushes in to add water to my paints, and one cup to rinse my brushes in. That way I don’t end up with gray colored paints because of dirty water. Thank you for this video. You have fun in Ireland. Can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back.
I think the MOST important thing to work on in watercolors is actually just water control. It’s something I struggle with still after maybe about two years of working with them, and almost a year of making videos on them and having GREAT discussions in the comments with people who have great tips. I kept getting cauliflower blooms on my pieces and wasn’t sure what was causing them, but then Sade from Sadie Saves the Day basically explained that I’m unintentionally adding too much extra water, and the water is separating from the pigment and sort of blooming out. It can be pretty, but sometimes it’s not what you want! So either keep a dry brush nearby when you’re painting, or shell out for cotton paper because dannnnnng, I did something recently for a future vid and the paper I used was unbelievably forgiving despite me doing a very bad job of controlling the water. =>.
Great tips and style. I think I may try the big page as an experimental sketchbook. I can add that it’s a good idea to test multiple media on a new type of paper. Paper reacts super differently so thoroughly testing your tools on a new paper is a must! You earned a new subscriber!
Hi! I've been watching your videos for a couple of days and thanks to you I learned a lot! :) I hope you can upload a how to video or dos and donts for different hairstyles.
Soo helpful! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊 I struggle a lot with watercolours, I have got a love and hate relationship with them 😂 but I think I love them more than I hate them😂 Anyway good job😊😊
So pretty! You are a true artist! Can you do how to draw animal faces next? I have a art project coming up soon for school and it would be great if I could get some tips! Thx! By the way Ireland is beautiful, I’ve been there! Thx!😁
my problem is that whenever i try to use more diluted watercolors like u do to get that transparent effect the paper gets darker bcs of the water and i can't tell how the color that i used would look like after it dries.. it gets kinda greyish i think u know what i mean. how can i avoid that? is the paper too thin? i m using 180g/m2
You seem very knowledgable... so i’ll ask you, I’ve painted for a while with acrylic but i’m trying to get into watercolour but i have a massive problem!? And no one to ask 🙃 why does the water colour paper keep warping or buckling? I tried taping it down, pinning it down, wetting it and letting it dry (which made it worse), using little water, i’m using 300gsm and 185gsm and where ever the paint goes the paper basically bubbles up... 😐 so is this normal? Do you get this too? I never see anyone else’s do this and its pretty off putting 😒 If you know how to help or know of any other people that could help... help 😬

Angie Conley that is so true! When I started I only used one cup of water and it made my paintings look muddy. 😁
