I love that tip too, I've been doing that recently and LOVE the results. I started using Phthalo Blue and Quin Gold dropped in on the paper to make greens for foliage. The way they make magic almost looks like you painted sunlight/shadows without trying :) It makes everything just look so much more interesting when you mix colors on paper.
Transferring the picture from my mind to the paper has always been the biggest struggle, I have heard this from many other Artists too! I think you do very well when I have watched you work, We can be so hard on our own art can’t we? Thank you for continuing to show us how your journey is progressing, I am still learning after more than 20 years working with watercolor and many other mediums, Hang in there! Never give up and have patience with yourself and your progress.
If you’re not into coloring that’s ok! All good if you ask me!!!!! Screw coloring...many drawings are just as good if not better w/o color...but if you are getting into coloring then whatever coloring is cool

You could also do this with mixed colors too :) that way it’s not always so bright. Or also like, sepia and ultra marine (darker versions of the same hues). Good job!
