      Dr Rowe: Ben: I have arthritis & Baker cyst on my LEFT knee, When I go to the gym, I ride the stationary bikes & I peddle backwards. Does that help my knees, like walking backwards? Also, if I use the stair master, will that help my knees too?

    I don't know anyone with bone on bone knees that can get into a kneeling position. Clearly you do not have bone on bone knee pain because it prevents you from bending your knee as far as you are bending your knee.

    • @considerthis7680
      @considerthis7680 2 года назад +1

      @@tonicooke204 I'm really glad it worked for you. My issue is that bone-on-bone describes a condition in which not only the meniscus of the knee has deteriorated but also the hyaline cartilage that covers the femoral and tibial condyles. All the decompression in the world cannot fix this condition. In the past the condition was managed with knee replacement surgery., however, there are some new techniques that are less dramatic. Good luck with your knees.

    Hi, Thanks for the information it is very useful for many people. I don't think anyone is suggesting a complete cure, but exercise does help, and strengthening the muscles around the knee and the leg/hip, while also increasing flexibility is definitely a good thing. The alternatives are surgery, putting up with pain, or a sedentary lifestyle (maybe with painkillers). So give it a go, after all, what do you have to lose.

      Ooh, we share the same two conditions you have mentioned. It is tough, isn't it? Especially when, like me, you live on a home on a steep hill, and have a few flights of stairs to negotiate and no lift (elevator). When both knees are just as bad, and the sciatica is quite literally kicking your butt, abd the hip and back arthritis is joining the party, it feels hopeless, coming across such detailed exercise feels like a light at the end of a painful tunnel. Best of luck to you on the journey to healthier, less painful living 😊

      Thank you, doc...71 retired and sitting too much has increased pain in my already sub par knees. I began walking again since my dog passed and began a self-made exercise plan that I was pleased to see some of the techniques included in your video. After a long three months of this I'm beginning to feel I'll be able to get back to the gym and bowl competitively again. I have noticed in your video that there was no muscle building with force or weight applied to the joint. That was my huge mistake. As you demonstrated, the knee joints have to be seperated to function with less friction. On my way!!!

    Great video to help with constant knee pain and all the accompanying pains from changing the way I'd walk to try and compensate for the original pain!
