Just got out of the movie theatre and watched it. Hands down one of the scariest horror films I’ve seen. And watching it in the theatre is a whole experience. I was literally on edge the entire time. 10/10!!

I watched it twice first in theatre with 4 buddies and second yesterday at 1am alone in a completely dark room at home.. i don't know why but yesterday was so much more scary i mean it was hardcore dude.. i was so terryfied i almost shitted my pants
Alyssa Sutherlands smile is amazing, that smile all bloody and dead and extremely beautiful just makes this film.
I just saw this film today. It's the best Evil Dead since the first one from 1981, and I'm not just saying it. Alyssa's performance is hardcore AF, some nightmare inducing material she came up with
I only recognize the original "Evil Dead", the 2013 remake and this one. "Evil Dead 2" and "Army of Darkness" are too goofy for me.
@The Classic Metal Beast same here. For me, this one is better than the 2013 reboot, which is also quite good.

Unlike a lot of models who segue into acting and then just coast, it's obvious she took her craft seriously. Awesome in Vikings and Evil Dead Rise and others. Major respect for her and her work ethic.

Her performance in the film was fantastic , everyone did great but this was truly her film 👏🏼.
I've always known Alyssa from Vikings as Aslaug, where you know she's putting in a great performance given that she's likeable and sympathetic despite playing a character who lends herself to being at odds with the audience, and I've always kept watch to see what else she'll be in. So it's great to see her doing so well again as the face of the newest entry to an already iconic franchise. She seems wonderful.
She looks great! Opening weekend for me. I LOVE a good horror villain. And her performance is looking fantastic so far.

Can i ask why? And this isnt so i can argue with you 😂 i genuinely want to know? I thought the perfomances were fantastic but the story felt like it lacked in places
@@jodieleigh5349 I personally also didnt love it. The characters were moslty unlikeable or atleast not likeable to the extend that I cared about them. It was also quite predictable, many things were foreshadowing. I was never scared once but maybe Im also not the target demographic since I prefer atmospheric unease horror rather than action and splatter. it was still entertaining, and had some cool moments, highlight was mommy with her huge creepy smile for sure.
I honestly prefer the 2013 remake tho.
@@melonytoni9016 i absolutely agree with this, there wasnt any real stand our character and imo the whole thing seemed almost rushed. The gore was terrific of course and the actors were very good in their roles but it lacked tremendously in comparison to the 2013 movie. I actually rewatched the 2013 version last week and i can definitely agree with you there, the characters were much more interesting and the story played out very well.
She is AMAZING in the film! All of the performances were standout.
being a die hard Evil Dead fanatic i had my misgivings going in (the problem with the horror genre is desensitisation) but its a very well crafted movie and the acting is spot on...was i scared.. well no but Ive watched all the Evil Dead films just for a laugh... and that's an awesome place to be with these films there like a roller-coaster ride and soooooo much fun
I love how she looks like she have extra teeth in her mouth. I'm not kidding, I love it. I kind of got the hots for her because of the possessed look but oh my god!! her smile!!! I'm in love. She's beautiful. And she looks like she kills in acting; it'll be the first time I ever see anything she is in.
They parodied the 2013 movie in Scary Movie 5 with Mama and made the story that Mama became Mama by reading the evil book and now they really took the idea and made this movie so we're seeing a possessed mother and her children and sister instead of college teens.

yeah! her expressions are superb, such a huge presence too, great for that evil villainess role.
So I couldn't watch the cheese grater scene and I can't look at the cover of the movie, same with the movie Smile. Otherwise I don't have many problems with horror movies bc a lot of it tends to be psychological (no jump scares) or u get used to the jump scares and then it's just understanding and enjoying it (maybe lol)

I get celebrities confused all the time. When I first saw the red band trailer, my first thought was "Is this Katee Sackhoff? Is this Olivia Wilde?". I still thought you looked familiar and when I saw you were in Spike TV's The Mist, it then hit me!
I loved the movie and was watching the series with excitement! Sad it only lasted one season.
I am glad that you are getting the success you deserve. Your performance in The Mist is a mother doing whatever you could to save your family. Evil Dead Rise shows you doing whatever you can to destroy your family.
Both are great performances and you deserve all the kudos you get!
