Gino's music is relentless... you just don't want it to stop. The band is so tight, the production is excellent.... glad you enjoyed it. He has more for your ears...
Mark Craney was my drum teacher. We used to jam on some Gino tunes, along with Jean-luc Ponty and Tull tracks. I still use some of the concepts that he showed me. He was a beast of drummer!
Back in the days I was sort of hooked by Gino. Great compositions, gorgious voice, rocky, jazzy, fonky... all the good stuff! Good to get back to him with you!!!
Ya know, I've been critical of you before. I think you even pushed back on me for that. But I also give credit when it's due, and this was a great reaction. Probably because I agree that's my own reaction. This is a great track. It's hard to deny it, for anyone. It's a smoking song. I had the pleasure of seeing Gino in 1979 In Jacksonville Florida, at the old coliseum, it was one of the best sounding concerts I ever went to. There's been a couple I think were better, just based on the sound, but this one was right up there. I'm glad you like it man.
I saw that tour and it was incredible. Went to World Of Wheels in '79 & someone had a '67 GTO, pearl white, chrome undercarriage hiked up on a mirrored turntable. Dude had this album looping all day. Beautiful memory. I call Gino the mad scientist of music. Was into his early stuff before this album came out. "Feel Like Flying" is a great mix of bass, vibraphone & sax
My friend had three earlier albums and they are great too but this was my first Gino album. Running wild in the dead of the night… oh yeah, those were the nights my friend.
I don't know about the rest of the world but the "Brother To Brother" album was Huge in Canada. Excellent album. ALSO: If you like the music I say look up a fusion band from Montreal called "UZEB" (instrumental)
Thanks for the reaction. I've always really liked Vannelli. I would suggest going back a little further and reacting to 'People Gotta Move' his first hit single. 'Powerful People' or 'Fly Into This Night' would also be excellent choices.
Justin, if you want to hear more from Mark Craney, then it's time you listened to Jethro Tull's 1980 album A, especially as Eddie Jobson also plays on it and contributed additional musical material😉
@@Owlstretchingtime78 Thanks for your support but I doubt Justin will get to that point just yet. I've got the impression he's going to continue with Stormwatch to close the so-called folk rock trilogy from the late 70s. Anyway, I like Stormwatch as much as A and he'll end up listening to the latter one of these days...😉
Mark Craney on drums, highly underappreciated master of overplaying in a good way! Do yourself a favour and listen to his drumming on the titletrack of this album "Brother to Brother"! It totally blew me away when it came out and still does to this day. The way the toms were recorded....I had the feeling I was INSIDE the drums. Absolutely incredible.
It kinda reminds me of Jean Luc Ponty’s band maybe because I was listening to that around the same time. Very tight and a little more funky but sexy jazzy proggy.
@@-davidolivares Drummer Mark Craney, who plays on Gino Vannelli's Brother to Brother album, has also played with Jean-Luc Ponty on his Imaginary Voyage and Civilized Evil albums. So there's a rhythmic similarity.

Thats for sure David :) Ty
I'm a professional singer and Gino is the greatest singer, arranger and writer of our time. Please play all you can of Gino. Love him!
My all time favorite song by Gino Vannelli!!! Just simply awesome! Thank You Justin for reacting to this.

He had such unique tom sounds and those fills.
Did he ever talk about a band called UZEB?
If my memory is correct much of Gino's band played with Jean Lux Ponty as well.
@@O_Towne_Bear No he didn't
Encore une fois je dis,,, enfin ! :-) Gino Vannelli est juste phénoménal :-)

That track was so hot, it melted the snow around my house. 👍
The song "Love of my Life" melted me. 😊
That whole CD is Da Bomb 💣💣💣

Oh, my sister had a crush on Gino! He was a Montreal boy done good in the great 1970s.
By the 90s, he was a respected Opera tenor!
Brother To Brother is a timeless album..
Purchased this album in 79
Never heard this. That's some funky stuff right there.
Slick! This kicks arse!
This whole album is incredible. So good.

Everything is going well.
Thank you for your thoughts. 💖 Ker
i love the rhythm guitar in this track
Check out his live-version from L.A. when he is closer to his 70's i think. Amazing from all points of views. Cheers from southern Italy!

I totally agree. The A album showcases Mark's talents so well. Black Sunday is one song that will be a great showcase.

great album brother to brother but need to react to the album storm at sunup one of my faves
basically the weather girls singing backup

Gino was a drummer, but was too pretty to be hid behind the kit. Probably does'nt hurt, he can sing too. Yeah. Peace.
