...I'm one of the 3 people in the world who owns the camera in the top right - the Blackmagic Ursa v1. It's about 22lb (10kg), has three built-in screens (including one 10-inch), audio knobs, and LED levels. It's wild and I absolutely love it.
So weird, I received my first FPV beginner kit a week before this and only saw this video now! So true with the fishing for drone part... spend most of the time walking around trying to find the thing... congrats on the wedding
@lickd thanks for repeatedly sponsoring Potatoe Jet. If I ever manage to get physical well enough (CFS as bad as Physics Girl) to produce youtube content you will be the first place I look for licenced music content. Given the number of music creation channels I watch such as Henning Pauley's EytschPi42 RUclips channelI understand why licensing is so important. In fact check Hennings #GearStreet Project its upto 6 this summer. it might be a very good fit for you. Both In terms of advertising and content acquisition A lot of very famous musicians watch Hennings channel. to find out what gear is out there. I know this via Jen Mujura who when I first met her, via Henning, she was lead guitarist for Evanescence! He is very well connected & liked at Namm. Another good choice would be Produce like a Pro which is Spitfire Studios in LA Best wishes and thanks again for paying for the content I just watched!! Actually sod it. Big BIG Hugs
I just set up a YT studio for a client with the G2s, he was looking for something with 4k good color rendition and he did want AF but the 1000$ price tag really gravitated him towards these cameras as they will always be static and they really are just awesome. M4/3 lenses are cheap and you can get good quality for low budget! It allowed more money to go into lighting which at least for me is so much more important once you get into name brand 4k cameras.... But over all my experience so far withe the ATEM Pro is so good and the option for live stream is so much easier now!!
I'm always a fan of the ZVE10 for a budget studio setup. Cheaper than the G2, fantastic autofocus, flippy screen and with excellent affordable third party lens options. For a static indoor studio shot the flexibility of BRAW isn't exactly a necessity.
Gyroflow nightly build works fine with Micro G2, the link to the nightly build is on the website. Only caveat with G2 is due to firmware bug, you have to add sync points. This will hopefully get fixed by Blackmagic soon
On the topic of small cameras/stealth shooting, I love shooting on my iPhone with the DJI phone gimbal and wireless mic. A while back I had to go around LA shooting lifestyle and landmarks. Having my a7iii on a Ronin got me a lot of unwanted attention. But with the iPhone, no one cares.
😊I joined your journey early on with something like 50K sub, and left the ship around 700K sub😢, as I felt something was wrong. Yt algorithm showed me the 1M video and the feeling I got was the same as *50K sub Potato-jet,and it made me come back as a subscriber. I can feel that its a more positive vibe that gives energy. I’m glad that you found a way forward 😊
You guys rock! Great to see everyonenin the video again. This video made me want to get vack into FPV, especially micros. Oh snap, ill be at NAB for my work this year. Id love to say hi!
My church run first gen of these we use them as stationary for live production and they are awesome. My thought about these are stationary and use them like gopros but more usability with lenses and all the I/O features. Live production is a cool idea a different beast than normal, I mostly do live sound its more thinking on your feet and being more conscious of what your doing to minimize mistakes as you have low margin for mistakes/error.
As usual, killer presentation. Have you ever given thought to doing a presentation on using retired full-size 1/2 and 2/3 inch ENG gear for films? Some of us would like to see your take on this for those who've gotten into them due to budget limitations.
Went ahead and got the Flylens85 at your recommendation. Even though I can only figure that your secret is that Avata 2. Hopefully it has enough features outside of the motion controller that make it worth it over other cinewhoops out there.
On that newbee drone take off the top and bottom parts of the 03 case. It’ll save you 10grams but only takes a couple screws and it’s like 10% weight savings.
Slap a VHS on a giant FPV drone!! I've been tinkering around with my Dad's old Sony camcorder and restoring some old videos (man those videos tear me up), but yeah, I'm curious how that'd look and if it could offer some kinda variety to use it creatively. Also, spotted you a bunch more times in the show Community.
Regarding the Gyro Stabilization on the BlackMagic, I've found from using my BMPCC 6K that you really need to do a gyro sensor calibration before every shoot. Once I started doing that I had zero issues with Gyro Stabilization in Davinci Resolve.
ALT Cine (IMCE) channel Has a mod kit for the G2 which includes a button fix. You may be interested in. He is in the UK and it’s a 3d printed one etc. FYI. Laurie. NZ.
I actually like the URSA shape and size for Cinema, if well thought of, could offer alot more attachments, i/0s etc.proper cooling SSD drives, CFast frivesand many more.
First, you guys are having way too much fun. Second, you appear to be in my old stomping grounds, RPV/San Pedro/Pt Fermin areas, some of the best areas for drone flying. Third, is it possible to overcome a fear of heights ‘piloting’ an fpv drone? If so, I may be able to write off the purchases as medical therapy. Obamacare should cover it.
This Micro G2 really looks like an ideal camera for live broadcast. How about you try it in that context? I.e. as Facecam in an E-Sports Competition :) Could also be an interesting filming location in general.
The micro Studio G2 needs an offset of around 30ms, so if you add manual sync points, it stabilizes great. You also need to invert 2 of the axes (which is why by default it won't work for most people). I have one of these camera on a 10 inch quad that I use for mountain surfing, and have done 23+ KM round trip with it. It's fantastic for long distance because of the weight.
I've been using the gyro data in Resolve on PC for at least the last 10 months from the pocket 4K (it only records in a gimbal, for some reason). So maybe that's just a Resolve on Mac issue? Having the gyro data in there is fantastic though, so much better than the other stabilisation options.
And yeah, would love if you set up a visit/interview with some live broadcast folk! The cameras they use for sports are insane, and the portable studio trucks are a dream.
"This is what FPV really looks like" - You are so right! As a group we probably spend the same amount of time flying than we do on the retrieval of them - Oh, and about the same again taking stuff apart, soldering then putting it all back together again.
Hey Gene! Great video as usual. I wanted to ask you: where are some good spots/groups to fly fpv with? I just moved to the area from Arizona for work and I'm struggling to find a good spot. If you have any advice, let me know! I also wouldn't say no to tagging along with you haha.
I miss how you used to do those cheap camera videos like you did once with $94 Canon Powershot, how about a new video using some old tech? Canon XC15, Canon 5D Mark II with Magic Lantern, Nikon D90, Panasonic Handycam, and old 16mm or 35mm Film Cameras.
Yeah, we just got a couple of the G2's at the studio I work at. Using them for drum cams etc. They look amazing! And controlling all the settings from the switching computer is so much more efficient!
i just wanna ask, why are you sticking to goggles v2 instead of the newer goggles 2? was it because of the upgradability of the antennas? tnx for response
video idea: Take the micro cam, connect a hollyland mars tx on the hdmi port. Hide this in your jacket. probably the ipad hollyland app works on the Apple vision pro, so you could see the camera viewfinder in the Vision pro. thats what stealth Filmmaking looks like 😂
Download the dev version of the Gyroflow, I am going to look in my mess to find the link. Once is working, you need to play a bit, I have ofsett my sink point just -42.04ms
What do you do to make the money to buy all of the equipment the you get ? I am 18 starting my life of personal cinematography , I’m a commercial drone pilot and arco FPV just got the black magic pocket 6K Don’t make that much money though how do you do it so I’m asking, thank you for your time! Happy droning
If sponsored segment were all as funny, and well thought out as you Lickd commercial, I wouldn't skip ahead through them all. You got a great crew!

Actually sod it. Big BIG Hugs
What a segment for the sponsored content 👍😂
It's the twerking that did it. 😂
"In LA they don't bother people on drugs, they bother people trying to shoot a short film.." that's gotta be frustrating lol
That’s too funny
my heart is jumping when i see your fpv drones with 400O$ CAMERAS on it
Great job man! Very nice video, i am looking for some O3 tinywhoop too now😃
The Lickd commercial was so good! And Gene your flying is getting great!
Definitely interested in live production gear!
Wait, you can't just go back to the mini drone after talking about the wedding! Congrats guys, long overdue! 🎉
Forget about our drones, the Lickd commercial is the highlight of this video LOL
Prolly the best ad read, ever.
Lol i love that kari is filming for you guys now
two amazing tools both the drone and the blackmagic
Great video, you guys make my day when there's a new upload. I like Dylan's voiceover stuff, plus he has the same name as me!
Congratulations man for hiting 1m subscriber's. Love from Nepal❤
Best sponsored segment ever !
I'm pretty sure your channel is the only one I always watch throught the sponsored segment because they are always made so freaking good! lol
FPV potatojet videos are my favourite
Congratulations we have been waiting on you to tie the knot
Always look forward to a new Potato Jet video!
Love the music selectionnn
I'm going to this year's NAB Conference, if I see you, I'll say hello!
I'm just here for the sponsored mini commercial.

The sponsored part is great. Nice video
Best ad ever! 😂😂😂
😂 I loved the music commercial 🔥👍🏼, I’m not tech guy but I like ur videos

Hey PJ. You hit a million subs and instantly lost weight!? 😅 Looking good bro. Congrats on everything 👏🏾 ❤✌🏾
The Dr. needs to be a recurring character I think
best part for me is when he decided to go stealthy as a camera jacket, watched that more then the actual video! way to funny man😂
I’m so glad you post you Acro Bee 75 looking destroyed.
Yes please go and explore live production!! Would be super interested to see some vids on that :D
My church run first gen of these we use them as stationary for live production and they are awesome.

Happy to see Carrie operating a camera 😮😊
As usual, killer presentation. Have you ever given thought to doing a presentation on using retired full-size 1/2 and 2/3 inch ENG gear for films? Some of us would like to see your take on this for those who've gotten into them due to budget limitations.
Looks like an awesome little camera🤔🎥
Went ahead and got the Flylens85 at your recommendation. Even though I can only figure that your secret is that Avata 2.

Love the flying at the end.
So great to see you doing more FPV, i love my custom radiomaster boxer i have reviewed on my channel as well. Keep it up P-jet!
Lickd was the best part of the whole video tho 😂
What drone is this one at 0:41 ?
Since Dr Dylan became my Musicologist, my vibe has grown 4 inches!
You gotta get an XLCS cage for that Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2.
Thanks and please keep us updated with the Blackmagic setup seems like the future of action cams
Slap a VHS on a giant FPV drone!! For Gyroflow to work with the G2 footage, you need to use the dev build. It should be rolled into a future update.
Regarding the Gyro Stabilization on the BlackMagic, I've found from using my BMPCC 6K that you really need to do a gyro sensor calibration before every shoot. Once I started doing that I had zero issues with Gyro Stabilization in Davinci Resolve.
congratulations gene!
Hey kari, sam, peta.... and that other guy lol
ALT Cine (IMCE) channel Has a mod kit for the G2 which includes a button fix. You may be interested in. He is in the UK and it’s a 3d printed one etc. FYI. Laurie. NZ.
Between Wulff Den sponsors segment and PJ, yall should have all the EGOTS in the world
I actually like the URSA shape and size for Cinema, if well thought of, could offer alot more attachments, i/0s etc.proper cooling SSD drives, CFast frivesand many more.
You can find some 3d printed files for a battery bay mounted ssd holder for the bmd micro in fpv setups! Super streamlined
Great stuff!! Multicam… YES please!!
This Micro G2 really looks like an ideal camera for live broadcast. How about you try it in that context? I.e. as Facecam in an E-Sports Competition :) Could also be an interesting filming location in general.
Why not record directly to the Ninja, or a VideoAsisst? You get playback, and don’t need an additional SSD for RAW.
looking good with that jacket!
Future video idea: Conformal coat your drone, and do a bunch of water testing. Basically make it a waterproof drone.
The tiny orange haha here in Argentina we say Quinoto!
Gyroflow works just fine if you go back 1-2 versions!
nice one mr potato
All FPV pilots can relate to that ending clip! lol
Congratulation for the wedding. You two are both so cute!!!
I love FPV
Love u guys!!!!! ❤
Keep growing the mane
Any update on the gyro sync? I'm really trying to get a drone setup with the Micro G2.
For sure you are already testing the Dji Googles 3 and the 04 unit 👀
"This is what FPV really looks like" - You are so right! As a group we probably spend the same amount of time flying than we do on the retrieval of them - Oh, and about the same again taking stuff apart, soldering then putting it all back together again.
Mr. Jet, how’s the ZV-E10 Mark II review coming?
Hey Gene! Great video as usual. I wanted to ask you: where are some good spots/groups to fly fpv with? I just moved to the area from Arizona for work and I'm struggling to find a good spot. If you have any advice, let me know! I also wouldn't say no to tagging along with you haha.
The Blackmagic Micro is one of the cameras The Grand Tour uses to shoot in cars.
How do you deal with the no 24p footage on the DJI camera? Getting an Avata, and I'm curious your thoughts
It be cool to see you explore live broadcast and podcast to set ups. How they get 4K feeds would be interesting.
Should do a review on the canon r50 I want to see it. And if this is a good vlog cam and photography camera
I miss how you used to do those cheap camera videos like you did once with $94 Canon Powershot, how about a new video using some old tech? Canon XC15, Canon 5D Mark II with Magic Lantern, Nikon D90, Panasonic Handycam, and old 16mm or 35mm Film Cameras.
every thing have a catch
ODESZA YEAAAAH
Yeah, we just got a couple of the G2's at the studio I work at. Using them for drum cams etc. They look amazing! And controlling all the settings from the switching computer is so much more efficient!
Should have more views…
i just wanna ask, why are you sticking to goggles v2 instead of the newer goggles 2? was it because of the upgradability of the antennas? tnx for response
video idea:
Take the micro cam, connect a hollyland mars tx on the hdmi port. Hide this in your jacket. probably the ipad hollyland app works on the Apple vision pro, so you could see the camera viewfinder in the Vision pro.
thats what stealth Filmmaking looks like 😂
The title of this should've been "Potato Tries a Kumquat for the First Time"
0:19 OG Ronaldo still got some rizz!
More stuff like this!
Me feathered in 4:22 he,he,he!
Any tips for getting micro g2 to work with gyroflow? Haha. I did gyro calibration and all that, but my gyroflow instantly crashes on both pc and Mac 😢
Download the dev version of the Gyroflow, I am going to look in my mess to find the link. Once is working, you need to play a bit, I have ofsett my sink point just -42.04ms
@@PotatoJet sorry i tried to post the link and gets automatically deleted, if i can direct message you?
1 potato 2 potato announcement at NAB because a potato jet-ling is baking inside Kari’s oven. 👶
what is that model of drone near the beginning? the one with the O3 camera extended out on struts?
Hi Potato, any news on the Sony A7S IV?
What do you do to make the money to buy all of the equipment the you get ?
I am 18 starting my life of personal cinematography , I’m a commercial drone pilot and arco FPV just got the black magic pocket 6K
Don’t make that much money though how do you do it so I’m asking, thank you for your time!
Happy droning
