It's great to see more options other than Phantom cameras. Now instead of "I need to rob a bank to afford this camera", it's "my wife left me because I went bankrupt affording this camera" price point, which is far better. Give it twenty years for cinematic slo mo like this to trickle down into the consumer market
Just get the latest iPhone and the Twixtor plugin (if it still exists), then you can at least eat noodles and baked beans instead of completely starving.
I've followed Freefly for years - they are a very interesting company! Electric kitchen stools, (suicidal) skateboards that go 50 mph, and really cool drones for feature film production, utilities, emergency response, and search and rescue. I got lovely footage years ago with the original iPhone SE and the Freefly Movi Robot stabilizer.
That dog lead looks awesome, my mom has issues with her shoulder and hand on opposite sides so this could be a great way of getting in to walking the dogs more so I showed her and she bought it, thanks for the recommendation Gene. I love your videos! ❤️
Wildlife all the way. To me, that's be best way to use this amazing camera. Too often, these cameras are used for silliness, even though they can reveal nature's tricks in the most fascinating way.
If you do review the A6700, what monitor would you use with it to overcome the Sony parts bin mix of old rangefinder design, low quality evf, crappy screen and unimproved stabilisation but with great focussing and good video. I would like a lightweight kit to use for video of birds and wildlife etc but rangefinder design and a long lens is not very practical.
The potato jet channel us always delivering us something fantastic, educational, fun, and different content. So glad this was not another mediocre Sony camera review thay everyone is doing at the same time. 😊
As much as this all look amazing (great video by the way) I will never buy another Freefly camera. Before we ordered the Wave I contacted them and asked about a few key features (the most important ones being dynamic range and ability to check critical focus). They promised the sky and delivered none. In fact they flat out lied about "planned functions" via firmware updates, such as wireless connectivity, and then quietly removed all references to them. We must've spent $12k or $13k (after all the accessories), plus WEEKS trying to make it work, and I think we got 3 minutes of usable video out of it - EVER. We finally gave up and it's been in storage ever since. Worst investment we've ever made.
Honestly, my first thought at the beginning of the video was "I wonder what a fart would look like in slowmo?" But then I just took that thought and buried it way down deep. Then Gene literally actually said it out loud.
On Australian TV some 20 years ago I saw such a clip of a surfer dude on Bondi Beach with his backside erupting in flame as he plunged into the sea. Afterwards he said "I won't be trying that again"
3:48 maybe for that shot it would have been a good idea to light veritasium with a couple amaran 200d with warm gels and a large bed sheet. That would have brought his exposure just high enough to then edit in post so you can see him like you do in the shot at 3:45.
I was just talking about getting into high-speed videography work 5 minutes ago. Not only do you make excellent videos, but you are a phenomenal listener. 😎
I have to disagree. With the right lighting and post software, you can make the Chronos 1.4 Cinematic as well. Obviously won't be as good as the Ember but it's doable.
Hey Potato, I'm currently using the DJI Avata, and I'm planning to switch to a custom drone. However, I'm kind of scared of LiPo batteries. Do you have any advice?"
Don’t charge past 2c, 4.2v per cell unless it’s a HV, use lipo safe bags, make sure balance ports are fully plugged in when charging, and always supervise when charging….. then you should be good. 😂
In cinema speak we refer to shutter as "degree" as its a throw back to film cameras where we had a physical rotating shutter. So 180deg shutter is open half the time between two frames.. Mathmatically that means if you are shooting at 24fps your 180deg shutter would be a 1/48th of a second.. 360deg would be 1/24th of a second and so on.
Yup I think that's the correct use of super slow mo cameras... silly faces and probably things that would jeopardise fingers and such. We all would do the same.
Seems like amazing quality for the price point. Love the size too.

Most hilarious comment on YT. 😅

Yes it's SO RELATEDBLE, high five bro!
3:30 is my favorite shot - the PURE JOY on his face! The green fireball is amazing too.
felt the same

2:45 So nostalgic when i see that video
Just the first 2 mins alone are GOLD!!
Awesome as always! Happy to see more of Sam
Great to see you guys bringing the interesting and fun gear videos!
Now I can't stop watching my dogs drink water.
The whole world is coming out with Sony camera and lens reviews and Gene's like, "hold my beer"
wait what have i missed? Has sony released something today?

Impressive camera. Fun and creative demo. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for referencing Veritasium, I love that channel
1:36 - welp, looks like i have a new desktop wallpaper... 😂

The transition from Sam's cinematic evil ass bubbles karate chopping to grown up adult jumping and smacking bubbles caught me 😂😂😂
Sam is such a vibe 😂 I enjoy every vid hes in
Glad to see Sam back on the channel!!! 😬
I like how the ball on potato's cheek actually imprint on the skin for a few frame before disappearing.
what a fun channel just discovered this lookin for slo mo.
heyhey, nice video!
what was the liquid you sprayed into the camping burner at 03:30? the green looks amazing, like a little cosmos exploding.
any aviation or aerospace photography planned? would be cool to see a large lens at a falcon 9 launch or something!
Love to see the crew just having fun with slo mo 😂
woaahhhhh
Yeaahhhh
Which drone was used to fly Ember? How did you manage to control the camera (start/stop) in flight? tks
This camera is insane!
Hey Gene! Saw you at the ASC clubhouse over Cinegear but was shy to say hello. Thanks for the videos!

spend $500 more and get a real camera
@@silbay but I already have an A9 and a A7RIV. I will probably end up selling one or both and like you say spend more
I couldnt stoppen laughing😂 great video❤
this total video to watch is insanly beautiful and a million times funnier
Now you have to come back to Vegas for F1 and bring the Ember.
Great to see Sam again in your videos

ever since one saw the ‘locked in a vegas… hotel room’… everything has taken the raspberry…
I came here searching if you had the new sony a6700 review but okay, this is kinda good.
would love to see a Ember vs Chronos 2.1 HD!

Are you able to link the specific monitor mount you have on the camera? Looks like a really nice low-profile deisgn one
This camera perfect for dramatic ending scenes … make that character death way more dramatic with this camera and the right soundscape
There's so much stock footage money to be made with something like that. Looks so good
How is this guy still not 1M on YT??
When are you uploading the a6700 & Crane 4 video?!! 😅🎉🎉
Here from Veritasium's fireworks video - checking out what looks like a really cool channel!
What kind of lenses are you guys using in this video ?

ROTFLMFAO, right . Beast can't remember when he had 1 million
Very nice camera.
Could you make a video about raw video on android?(Motion Cam Pro)
Cool to see this. We use Photron SA-1, 2, 5, Z and X's and record up to 100,000 fps for work and it's amazing what kind of data you can capture.
Seeing a lot of that banana shirt (I have one too). Great marketing for Target.
It’s crazy how I was looking at a highspeed camera. Chronos 2.1 cam. Exactly.
I know it is silly but i just wonder if it is cool to use at 24 or 25 fps. that would give the camera more use in my case
Wait, what’s that tripod called?
Smallrig Freeblazer Carbon Fiber 75mm tripod :)
WOO thanks for reading the comment!
I have to disagree. With the right lighting and post software, you can make the Chronos 1.4 Cinematic as well. Obviously won't be as good as the Ember but it's doable.

This thing could add a lot of character to a film!
A load of artefacts going on in that shot of Kerry running, is that because it was low res?
You should do a comparison between this camera and Topaz, AI video, slow motion. That would be a cool comparison!
I have that 7Artisans 7.5mm lens. Really great cheep lens to get some cool looking fish eye shots!
