There are tens of thousands of dollars worth of purchase regrets here, so hopefully you can see if the reason I regret it would apply to you, then you can save your precious money.

We have a Shark vacuum and I love it!
Same. I’ve loved the Shark Rocket Ultralight Stick Vacuum, lightweight, can get under beds, tables, etc...small-ish canister, but easy to dump and worth the versatility.
I love my Shark, too! It’s probably 12-13 years old and still going strong.
We have the dyson cyclone v10 got it on a Christmas special. It comes with a wall mount charger that we store in the garage super convenient to use. Happy with purchase :) downside still expensive
We have a shark vacuum, the filter is washable but easily replaced every year. The HEPA filter is easy to replace too. I've had mine for 4 years and going strong!
Side note: I'm 36 weeks preggers and wondering, aside from diapers, diaper wipes, and butt paste, what else should I put in a diaper caddy??

I genuinely laughed out lout when you said that your Dyson failed at its only job. I've always had good luck with Shark vacuums, and I have two dogs with double coats, so it gets a good workout every time it comes out.
Is there a specific model you have that works!? The amount of hair I shed it may be comparable to two dogs shedding 😆

Just recently came across your channel because I’m expecting my first baby in Jan 2021...I LOVE your videos, especially the purchase regrets one!!! I was cracking up about the Blu Ray players 😂 I had a DVD player I wanted to keep when we moved into our new house and my husband made me donate it bc “when was the last time you watched a DVD” 🤦🏼♀️😂
I was recommended a Dyson, but I went with the Shark because my mom has been using hers for 4+ yrs without an issue. When I got mine, It’s PERFECT. No problems, multiple parts, and works great on wood floors, carpets and rugs

The vacuum struggles are real! We like our Shark vacuum. We have a 120 lb dog and 2 cats and the amount of fur in my life is unreal but the shark vacuum has been working well for us for 5+ years.
I second this! We have a Bernese Mountain Dog who sheds sooo much. We originally had a dyson animal v7 and that smells like dog hair and wasn't worth it for how often we have to vacuum. We got the Shark APEX DuoClean and we LOVE it. it works so well on the couches and wood floors.
I can not recommend the shark vacuum enough. We have a stick vacuum by shark and I definitely recommend this over your typical upright. While the canister can’t hold as much, there is so much less to get stuff stuck in a stick vacuum. We have 2 large shedding dogs and a toddler and it performs amazing. The suction is great too!
I am a house cleaner and I have used many vacuums. I have always said Dyson is the worst vacuum. Honestly a $50 Bissell does a better job. But I use shark. They are amazing. Half the price of a Dyson. Also you can buy cheap filters on Amazon if you wanna wash your filters, you don’t have to wait till they dry to use your vacuum again. I often clean my filters so the Shark works as good as the day I bought it. 😁👍🏻

I have a shark and it is fantastic! I have been using it for four years now and it still works perfectly! I also have 2 dogs and 2 cats and it still does amazing. It is the Shark Pet Pro model. Works great for carpet and for hard floors.
I have both a Dyson and a Shark. The Shark is definitely the workhorse of the two. The suction is almost too good at times when I accidentally suck up something I didn’t mean to.
Yes, I am one of those rare people who still loves DVDs. I like actually owning my movies, and not relying on what happens to be streaming. And although we own some digital copies, it would cost a fortune to replace all of my DVDs with digital copies.
I love to watch your videos to prepare me for when I start trying for baby and I happened to be watching this one next to my boyfriend.
When you said “toddlers should not go off roading” he wasn’t interested in his video games anymore and instead decided we needed to have an argument about WHY toddlers should not go off-roading 🤣

We have owned several expensive vacuums, including the old, bulky Kirby. LOVE our current vacuum of 2 years- a Riccar. It is speedy but well worth it. It picks up on the edges, switches easily from carpet to hardwood, and has an extension hose that is a breeze. We have the pet one and it gets the long dog hair out of the carpet!!

I love my Miele vacuum as much as you love your Honda Odyssey. Recommended to me by a friend who is retired and spent her life owning and running hotels. They LAST. They are expensive, but it’s because they literally last forever and you get them repaired, not replaced - like old school vacuums. It cleans and sucks better than any vacuum I’ve ever owned. And if you can find a floor model with a dent they will knock a bunch of $$ off!
Biggest purchase regret was a hook and loop rug for our living room. With 3 cats & a dog, pulls "magically" appeared in a matter of weeks and within 1-2 years, it was shot. Have purchased only tufted rugs since then with no problems!

1. Shark vacuum. I have the pet pro one and it sucks up everything. Even before I had a pet this vacuum was great!
2. Dollar General black out curtains. I got mine for like $12 a panel. They were too long so I had my mom cut them in half and I had double the panels at the right length.

For vacuum cleaner we have a Kirby. It is expensive, but it will be the last one you buy (got mine from family that was purchased in the 90s, one repair)
Purchase regret... Roomba for daily cleaning of pet hair (use the Kirby 1-2 times a month for food cleaning). It was on a great sale, but if I had waited a few months then I could have got the one that has the better navigation system and dust bin.
i have the cordless dyson, super light weight, easy to carry around, i love it so much!

I love your videos so much, you're so honest! In probably 1-2 years I need a new car and we will want 2 rows, I'm definitely considering a van now! Also who knew these little kid Jeep's got so unsafe! I had one growing up and it was so incredibly slow lol, that's what a toddler needs lol.

Girl I have wheeled vacuums back to Costco more than once! Their return policy is outstanding. I personally have had really good luck with our Eureka that we got on sale there about a year ago and we have 2 dogs and a cat so tons of pet hair.
I’m going to look into those memory foam toppers! And yes we have a blu ray player in our bedroom that I’ve had forever but we never use it. My husband actually loves to buy only blu ray movies and we watch those on his ps4
I have the Hoover whole house pet vacuum and I love it. It has settings for carpet and hardwood.
Ok i got my 1st Honda odyssey mini van in 04' & loved it fully loaded for my only child. Then we got a Honda element love for husband for dog, fishing & just carrying stuff & traded my mini van for a another Honda 2010 & then just again in 2017 left over with 4 miles on it. Its not fully loaded but its great bc we always have company & we can get everyone in it at once. Plus my husband it 6'4" & and the head & leg room is awesome

I didn't want to be a minivan mom either! My oldest is in a booster so he sits in the back and the other 2 sit in the middle captain chairs. I LOVE the stow n go seating in the back. I have a Toyota Sienna. We sold our little Corolla and got a Camry, it can fit the car seats if we have to but still gets better mileage than the van. This way when one of the vehicles needs work we can make either vehicle work. We watch dvds

I love my Dyson. Have had it for more than 5 years and it works like a charm. Don’t remember which one it is though. I like blackout as well but I just use a sleep mask to help keep out the light.

Mai your black out curtains, you can buy liners for them and it should darken down the room. You also have eyelet curtains so the light will always be able to get in at the top. But try one room at a time or even one set to see if it makes a difference to that panel at a time.

I laughed so hard when you were explaining your struggle with the twins mini car! 😂 My biggest spending regret is our shark steam mop! I got a spray mop from amazon for $20 and it cleans better then the steam mop 😑
We have the bissell pet vacuum clear view something lol and have 3 dogs and a baby on the way and just for dog hair it is AMAZING. We have had no issues with it, and I am so thankful for it because it cleans amazing
I have an Electrolux nibble and I love it and it has stood the test of time
I know that I am almost a year late to the part, BUT I have a Shark Navigator lift off and I LOVE it! It has a built in wand in the handle that is super easy to use and also has the ability to be used as a canister vacuum as well.
Thanks for your opinion on the inflatable pool I was about to purchase one for my daughter. I didn’t think about inflating & deflating it.

I totally feel you on the fake blackout curtains. They are the worst! I had to buy a Redi Shade blackout cordless shade from Home Depot to put behind my "blackout" curtains. It's not the most attractive thing but it's cheap and it works.
I have the shark one from Costco. it was $180, I've had it for 2 years and works like the day i got it!
For real though on the mattress topper! We have a $20 second hand mattress (we cleaned it and I know how to check for bedbugs) and a really nice 3 inch memory foam mattress topper and its honestly the best.

I have had the same Kirby for about 5 years. It’s amazing and I have never had an issue. It has so much power. We have two shaggy dogs and it gets up all of the hair so that my daughter doesn’t have to crawl on a dirty floor. Mine also comes with like swifter attachment and a carpet cleaner attachment. It’s more expensive but I don’t think I will every need another vacuum.

Oh my gosh, that’s so funny about the blue ray…we had them when I was a kid, and it’s so true they are almost non-existent. VCR, even more so is so hard to come by!

For black out curtains I learned that Walmart has some good ones. I used to work at different home improvement stores and calculated that the best option for cheap but great blackout curtains is Walmart.
I de cluttered our dvds and blu rays a couple weeks ago. I took the time to cross reference all of our streaming services and surprisingly we still have two drawers of movies that aren’t free to stream. I moved the ones we can stream to the garage!

Hey, Mai! Try taking the handle off the recliner if it had one on the side! Usually there is a small screw that holds it on, and it pops off so easily. They won’t be able to put it up without the handle.
Also, I had a dyson that stopped sucking so I purchased a shark and have loved it!

I have to sleep in the dark as well. I hear amazon has black out vinyl that sticks to the window. I honestly just layered two sets of “blackout” curtains from Walmart and it works amazing!

We bought Velimax static window cling from amazon to make the windows in my baby’s room dark because I bought cute “blackout curtains” that let in all the light and I didn’t want to try to find new curtains for in there. It works wonders and is super easy to put up. You should check it out!!
We are preg with our first and I am dreading whats to come to our beautiful white rug and light grey, non removable cushioned couch! 🙈🙈 Also! As a night shift RN, the Costco blackout curtains are AMAZING! Very affordable and 100% blackout. The only ones I’ve ever had that truly blacked out our bedroom!

Bought a German hard top convertible car that leaks over the driver and the passenger seat, and I live in Ireland. Oh, and sometimes the roof doesn't 'want' to close completly, and I live in Ireland. Learning a lot about drainage channels and rubber seals, and 'stop start' car batteries, in German, which I was never good at in school. This video helped a lot. Thanks :)

I got Blackout curtains from Target and they were affordable and very effective.
Get the Ikea Schottis blackout blinds for your windows! They are plain and ugly but they can go behind your pretty curtains, and they work super well. AND they are only like $6 each!

It interesting that you had issues with your Dyson. I LOVE my Dyson. Shark, Roomba, etc failed. I dont use the upright vaccum. I HATE uprights. Cannister is the only way to go for me. Ive had my Dyson for 15 years. For 13 years we only had 3 dogs and 2 birds.For 2 years we have 1 kid, 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 1 bird. My cocketeil went up to birdie heaven last year. I do agree 500 for a vaccum is expensive, but if it lasts 20 years who cares. My mom got the very first dyson made which was 27 years ago. The Dyson is still going strong. My mom did have to replace some belts, filters, hoses, and some other minor stuff, but like a car you have to maintain your Dyson's.
We have bissel canister vacuum from bed bath and beyond that we love. My MIL owns a house keeping business and swears by canister vacuums. I also still use blu rays I own my favorite things to watch on Blu-ray. We have a sealy memory foam mattress it was 400 dollars from Wayfair 12 inches and it feels just as good as 1,000 mattress. My aunt who owns a tempurpedic even said how comfy it was and it has a 10 year warranty
I hear you about furniture. We got a beautiful set that was dark blue. They sold us some special treatments to keep it clean. Our cat threw up fish cat food on it. We tried to clean it. Instant stain. Turns out that material should not of had the treatment on it. And we were supposed to wait until the company’s people could come out and specially clean it. That would’ve been at least a week with the fish smell on it. We managed to get our money back. But it was a battle
The black out curtains had me rolling ! I did the same mistake (on a much smaller scale ) my husband needs pitch darkness to sleep. The marketing on these are extremely misleading ! Now he hangs his hoodies all over my windows 😩 they do the job but it’s not aesthetically pleasing to say the least. He likes to say we live in a casino (no clocks no light . No concept of time ) lol

My expensive regret is all the black furniture we bought right when we graduated from college and moved into our first apartment. We bought black vinyl couches and a black metal coffee table off Craigslist because they were the only ones we could afford, a black credenza for the TV from CB2, , and then later I was trying to buy white bookcases but they were sold out so I let my husband convince me to get black ones instead. I think at the time I thought it was chic and matchy, but I came to hate them so quickly, and it has taken us 14 years to have the money to replace some of them. I still have the black credenza and bookcases. Nice furniture is SO EXPENSIVE!
