That was such an easy stronghold lol I think Oscuridad took out three enemies by herself at one point. Her build is really broken. I'd have laughed if that Ray of Life healed the Assassin.
That felt incredibly easy. Felt like in WOTC 2022 playthrough stronghold chambers would have like 8+ enemies all spawn at the same time. It wouldn't matter because that was the OP sparks season but yeah this one looked toned down.

When I used your modlist I always got the Chosen spawning in the Ascension Chamber together with a whole bunch of enemies. And the first group spawning in the final chamber after triggering the Chosen was always three full pods. That made these mission quite tough, not to say campaign-ending. I take it you've had some adjustments made, thankfully.
i say the adjustments took away from this, i was so looking forward to a really long chosen mission where things got really harry. Instead it seemed very bare bones and he crushed it
About the overwatches not happening around 58:30, typically a unit can't go into overwatch when on fire. Despite the icon showing up, the game still considered the overwatch unavailable because Oscuridad was burning. As for why nobody shot the Assassin when she appeared in the middle of the group, she was just revealed, she didn't move.

As a viewer the most difficult part of this mission is trying to not be too annoyed by the Assassin's dialogues, lol! Jokes asides, this was absolutely awesome!!! Lots of thanks for each episode of this amazing series, I'm so hyped by the fact that we're getting into the more epic encounters here!!!!! 😁

Obligatory "That was Ray of Life, not Null Lance Commander!" comment. I too think that was not challenging enough. No one is accusing Obsuridad or Caerbannog of being OP when a Legate or Mechapede stomps in (though im not actually suggesting either of them be allowed in the final chamber). A requium Andromedon or two, a handful of specters, some mechtoids, a gatekeeper, armoured Beserkers, that Viper that counters Snipers, any of those would have had a significant imapct on your mission if they had spawned in rather than things like a rocketeer. Additionally, in the field we saw Prelate summon in multiple requium Archons, but in here she got 4 basic priests, maybe its luck, maybe the stronghold changed what she could spawn.
Cyclic fire is a clutch ability for sure!!! So many times the combo of him, carebear doing 20 dmg on average per shot and then you got obscuridaddy doing her thing shooting 100 times a turn and cybernetic disabling or controlling everything else. Just God dang!!!
If you're going to buff the chambers, I recommend increasing the quality of the enemies before you increase the quantity. A billion little enemies will just be annoying to watch. Harder enemies will still increase the difficulty but keep the number of threats in the range where it's easy for viewers to mentally categorize them.
I don't know .. I played season 8 modlist and strongholds were hell on earth. Not just the final chamber, the continue reinforcements in the prev area too. This looked kinda disappointing but hey, Assassin's gone for good
Compared to the last Season this Chosen Chamber was kind of underwhelming. I don't think Populated Chosen Chambers was working properly or at all. The first reinforcement pod contained an Advanced Rocketeer and a Codex. This is my personal observation, as i played this game for hundreds of hours, with your modlists aswell. Thank you for making these playthroughs!
that mission got nerfed. it's missing 3 or 4 pods that would come in before you enter the chamber and you had to kill the assassin there the first time and then a second time in the chamber! that was a month or 2 ago
Finally!! The Assassin has been a pain in the neck throughout the campaign, especially levels 3 and 4. We're finally rid of her. All the good guys and girls who died for her and her summons have been avenged. The Warlock is still missing. And the Hunter is now huntable, but I still think the latter is the least dangerous of the 3.
You know, I was just thinking that based on vanilla XCOM2 - WotC alone, which I happened to replay a while ago. I didn't see a ton of modifications having been done to the chosen based on this episode, but could they mod the Hunter to be a bit more of a menace?
@jussikout1n I don't know about modding, but in this campaign with mods the Chosen were very broken. The Warlock kept spamming enemies while putting up a barrier that made him invulnerable to all damage as long as the summoned enemies were not eliminated, hiding and then casting psionic powers. The Assassin moved a lot, did a lot of damage, regenerated by doing damage, also spammed enemies and also hid after attacking. In itself their base skills are not the problem but the mods made the Chosen do a lot more damage and on top of that they spam enemies from the mods which are also a nightmare for low level units. They had to nerf them since they had killed several soldiers due to how abusive the damage ratios were. The Hunter in my opinion is the weakest but also in the last tiers he also did a lot of damage if he shot, but obviously nobody moves or they move immediately, and he also summons wild units but not as strong. I think the hunter can get stronger, but that depends on how long Odds left him alive in the remaining campaign.
No to populated chosen chambers, you are already having enough trouble as it is, if there would be one aditional soldier every reinforcement wave you would be hard pressed.
I think we should just forget about that ray of light usage on the chosen thinking it was a null lance or searing lance

Yea, Ive seen way more intense reinforcements from "recover the resistance operative" where you have to defend for 4 turns
