- Welcome back! Today I am giving you my Pro and Con list about Kindle (and just ebooks in general). I hope this video can help you if you are looking for an electronic reader, and just know this is my honest opinion.

I know so many people who buy books on Kindle and when they like the book, they'll buy the physical copy. I love those kinds of people. I do that too sometimes, but because I live abroad and not all of the physical copies are available to buy, kindle have saved me multiple times.
Yes! I wish I could do that too but I’m currently in a chaotic state and I now I’ll be moving a lot so it just makes sense to travel light but keep reading as much as I do. So I totally get you! Thanks for watching btw ☺️

You can lend Kindle books to people. They just have to have a kindle.

You can export amazon books and remove drm as well, then load them onto a friends e reader.

I switch to digital edition after I moved many times, so carrying many books was complicated and usually they end up damaged.
The Kindle is a thing you love it when have it on your hand and discover the whole wonderful stuff it has 📚🤓

We don’t have bookstores here and it takes at least 4 months to get books shipped here, so my kindle has been such a lifesaver! Thank you for this.
Amazing! I know this first hand, in Mexico books take a long time to get translated or shipped here. They also are quite expensive in comparison to the ebooks, so they really are lifesavers for me too ☀️ enjoy all your readings!
Great points! I agree with most of them. I just purchased one book about nutrition and a kindle, just like you said, its still doable to invest in both methods of reading. For now I am excited to learn how to use 100% my Kindle. :)
I’m glad you like it! I hope you took advantage of the discounts. Another tip is that you can get a library card, download Libby on your phone with it, and borrow free books to your kindle! That is what I do :)

I used to love reading in my youth but as soon as I had my child I was too busy and forgot about how much I loved to read! After 11 years I’m finally going to start to read again and get a Kindle, I might have to start with audiobooks. But I’m excited to rehear all of my favorites and start this journey! :)
That’s so amazing, I love to hear stories about people rediscovering their love for books! I got out of a reading slump myself when I received my kindle as a present, so I totally get it. And yes, audiobooks are great for very busy schedules with dead intelectual times like driving, cleaning, or whenever you can fit them I’m (i specifically love them when I’m knitting and cleaning)

I don't get distracted while reading on my Kindle fire or Samsung galaxy tablet. I turn off wifi while reading so I don't get distracted.
That’s good! I don’t have a tablet, but it sounds like a great idea to turn off the wifi or to put them in airplane mode also to save up even more battery!

I prefer physical copies of books because in a post-apocalyptic world it gets very cold and we can use the books to burn and keep us warm at night or trade them for food and other goods
It is good you are getting prepared, although I would burn anything else before burning my books 🥺

Do you have any recommendation for people (like me) who gets easily distracted while reading a book? 😭 i noticed that when i read a book, a few minutes in and my hand's already reaching for the phone! 🤣 i have a short attention span and i hate it! 😭
Thank you so much! I’m glad you are getting your device soon! I am very good at keeping my focus. However, What I do with books that are very big or intimidating is that in the settings of the book I pick to see time left in chapter instead of time left in the book. That way if I am feeling more lazy but still want to read something I see that I only have 15 or 20 minutes to finish a chapter an accomplish that instead of the 8 hours left in the book. You can also use the pomodoro technique and take breaks after uninterrupted moments of reading. Thank you for watching and I hope I see you again in the comment section
Try the Bookly app. It’s basically what Isabel suggests but you get stats on your progress. I’m obsessed with this app. The only downside is the subscription. But for your purpose you wouldn’t need a sub. It’s on iOS and Android.

Yes once reading gets in your life, it takes a big part of your day that otherwise would be wasted with scrolling (that still happens, I need to reduce my screen time 😂) I hope reading helps you with your goals. Thanks for watching 🍁🍄🍁

You are welcome! As a student I had the same doubts but it helped me due to how reading intensive my courses are 💕 think about it, take an informed decision and if you do buy, try to do it when they put them with discounts (which is often)

I have to put my kindle in a leather cover which then opens like a book. This works well for me.

@@anandisarkar8549 Good kindle covers? I've only had the yellow one I show in the video. I bought this one from Amazon and it is sturdy. The only problem I have is that it gets dirty very easy, so maybe go with a dark color.

You can lend to people you add on your kindle for up to two weeks but you don't have access to the book until it is returned. I think this works for any kindle device.

Thanks for the video! I just picked up a Rakuten Kobo and I’m obsessed. I love how the Kobo uses overdrive as way to get books from a library so it’s free!
Also I take notes in a notebook if I’m reading which feels nice. Also I love how the highlights are all in one place.
I love the ability to change the brightness, font, and margins. Which makes it so much easier to read super fast
Oh yess, I love using libby to get library books right in my kindle! It is so convenient and honestly makes me read so much more now that everything is at my fingertips and free
Hello I have a few queries
- can I copy some text while reading an e-book, n then past it into an app within kindle (like note in iOS) n keep appending the list as I continues to read with a series of books via Kindle reader.
Later on I use these copies text from various e-books I have read fir some kind of brainstorming thinking activities.
- how about a colour e-book reader like pocketbook e-reader, will kindle come with colour e-reader soon

Yes you can highlight passages of books and then send them to your email in a pdf document. I don’t know if they have color e-readers, but maybe other companies offer e-readers with colors!

Does the kindle store that book forever or do you have to download it again?
Hi! As far I know there is a kindle cloud. That means that if you buy a book and for some reason you don’t want it anymore in your device you can stop seeing it in your kindle but still have it saved in the cloud. So if you would want to access it again you can just look it up from the Amazon kindle website (where you can see al the books you have)

No problem, also, even if you get a device with the smallest amount of space, ebooks don’t take that much space, so it is not going to be a problem.

I just broke the screen of my old and beloved Kindle Gen4... It was with me for almost 10 years and my life is being a living hell without it! So I guess something bad about them is that, if something happens to your Kindle you can't access any of your books till you buy a new one... unless you want using the phone app... 🤦🏻♂️💔🤦🏻♂️
I am so sorry to hear about your kindle, yess that is a disadvantage, but it can also happen with physical books, if you are apart from them or if there is a fire or water damage in your house, you can not access them again. I hope you get the chance to get another reading device soon, good luck!
Can you transfer e-books from your phone/laptop to a Kindle? I want one, but not if I have to pay more money to actually read books
Well you have to buy the books but they are usually cheaper in ebook than in physical form. I know that there are converts you can download to add the ebooks you have to you kindle but I have never tired myself. I read for free by using Libby, that is a library app where you can borrow books from an online library and deliver them to your kindle for 14 days. I hope this helps you. I think it is a good investment but you are the one that needs to evaluate it

Oh I didn’t know that! Although you can also share if you connect your devices to a “household” with your Amazon accounts. That’s how my boyfriend and I share books

The charge on my kindle usually last at least a week or two. I also don't wait until the last second to charge it up. But, think of it as a cliffhanger when the charge runs out lol.
Edit: I also have airplane mode on when I'm not using the store so that might be helping.
Yeah the battery last a long time. However, don’t let it die because when that happened to mine, then it didn’t respond after I plug it and Amazon had to send me a new one. So now I usually charge it before starting a book and then recharge after I finish it. The airplane mode is a good rip, I’ve done it before and makes the battery last longer ☺️
@@isabelsdigest Leaving airplane mode on means Whispersync won’t work. That’s a dealbreaker for me. I read on my iPhone and iPad. Even with airplane mode off I can still use my 2019 entry level Kindle for two weeks before it needs charging. I charge it weekly though so I don’t forget. I also listen to audiobooks and you can sync your place between the Audible book and Kindle book. This a great way to get through books quickly. I don’t buy every book in both versions. Kindle Unlimited has many books with the Audible book included. My mom is mostly an Audible reader. We mostly like the same books so she’ll get a book on Audible and I’ll checkout the Kindle version from the library and then I can use both. Also, I don’t know if your doing Amazon’s January Reading Challenge, but if you are then you have to leave airplane mode off. With the Challenge some people are getting a $5 credit for completely it.

@@isabelsdigest not every book is lendable. But if you’re part of a Prime Household all books are shareable. And you can go to your Content and Devices page on Amazon’s website and turn off sharing for individual books.
