    4:58 it’s nice to see a few cars using all of the available road space right up until the point of road closure which is how it should be done in slow moving traffic, merging in turn is recommended at low speeds but it’s not recommended at high speeds.

    This behaviour is the norm for this junction, leaving until the last second to move onto the slip road.

    Cars are nimble and able to dash in and out. All too often car drivers do not appreciate the slog of getting a forty ton load moving again.

    You left the gap, mate, and looks like you weren't checking your wing mirrors, and let him in. There's always bellends like this on the roads, too important to join a queue like the rest of us, but that doesn't mean we have to let them in.

    0:40 the white car was wrong to undertake the lorry that was in lane 2, the white car should have used lane 3 to overtake the lorry in lane 2 and then made its way back to lane 1 when it’s safe to do so, it’s so easy.

    • @1harryrobert
      @1harryrobert 2 дня назад

      Undertaking is not illegal if you stay in your lane and vehicles on your right are going slower than you.

    • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
      @WayneTulip-zm9gw 2 дня назад

      If you watch the video clip properly the white car could have easily overtaken the lorry using lane 3 but it undertook the lorry in lane 1, I know undertaking is not illegal but it’s still a do not rule in the Highway Code, rule 238 of the Highway Code, which applies to motorways, states “Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake, in congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right, in these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right, do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.”, this is free flowing traffic, it’s not congested conditions, the white car changed to the left lane to pass the lorry on the left hand side, therefore the white car did not undertake correctly.

    Why were you speeding? The limit was 40mph.

    • @neilmartin1972
      @neilmartin1972 6 лет назад +1

      If you are going to comment at least get your facts right. Speed limit is 50mph or 80kph as was in roadworks. Gantry signs flashing 40mph are advisory speeds not mandatory !!

    • @pimeye
      @pimeye 6 лет назад

      You were speeding at 83kph = 51.5738 mph. At least get your facts right!!! (went for 3 exclamation marks as you had put 2).

    Big empty faster moving lane to your left. If you were in that one other drivers would have room to exit the motorway. Any driver worth his salt knows the closed lane always moves quicker. Notice you didn't comment on the orange truck which came up your inside and then cut over 4 vehicles in front of you.

    • @NWDashcam
      @NWDashcam  6 лет назад +3

      Going into the left lane when you know it is closed in a couple of hundred yards Is bad driving in itself. Same as not getting the lane you need well in advance. I assume off your comment you are one of the drivers who undertake other drivers just to save 10 seconds. That in itself puts you in the idiot driver catagory. Try looking for your own registration on here you probably find you are in a video nearly causing an accident.

    • @tedb4355
      @tedb4355 6 лет назад

      I see you deliberately trying to prevent other vehicles from exiting the motorway safely. You are condemned by your own video evidence showing where you nearly contributed to an accident. As you say the inside lane was empty yet you chose to block faster moving traffic rather than moving to your left despite the fact that more vehicles were passing you on the left than the right, proof itself you were in the wrong lane. The highway code says you drive on the left unless you are overtaking another vehicle. It also says you should never undertake unless you are in lanes of queuing traffic which is moving at different speeds. On lane closures it says you should stay in lane and merge in turn. It DOES NOT say you should all block one lane leaving the other empty. The operative phrase is 'at low speed' If there is an empty lane I will use it as should half the traffic causing a half mile tail back
      Rule 134
      You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.
      The direction to change lanes is the blue arrow, not the yellow advance warnings 800 metres before the event.

    • @neilmartin1972
      @neilmartin1972 6 лет назад +3

      Did you look for your registration ?? Looks like you did. You loser. Obviously a textbook reading bad driver using text to try justify your own bad driving. Driving is about reading the road ahead not 5m in front but as far as you can see, then adjusting your driving and getting into the correct lane in plenty of time. I again call you a loser as you obviously are 😁 loser 😂

    • @tedb4355
      @tedb4355 6 лет назад +2

      I've just watched the video again and counted 14 vehicles which passed you on your left while you nearly, but not quite, prevented one from squeezing in on you right. Blocking that one vehicle by sticking to the outside edge of the slip road was far more dangerous than moving to your left. If you had been in the left lane this indecent would not have happened, even if it did it would not have involved you. You are the driver of a large goods vehicle, or bus, not a traffic control officer. You do not have any right trying to block other traffic from leaving the motorway..
      Like many other dash-cam warriors you can do no wrong, everyone else is always in the wrong. If you want to improve your own safe driving then you need to take a dispassionate look at the videos before you post them and see if there is anything YOU could have done to avoid the incident. In this case being in the left lane would have prevented you being involved and therefore reduced YOUR risk.
      Everybody makes mistakes, even you, incidents happen daily if not hourly. Suck them in and move on. Forget them don't drool over them on youtube. I have a dash cam, I may even have caught you making a mistake on it but I'd never post those mistakes publicly. In fact I rarely look at the footage and download even less. The dashcam is there in case I have an accident but in the five years I've had one it's never been needed.
      Thank you for your advice on what driving is, try to remember it next time you are in the wrong lane.
