1966 F100 Farm Auction Truck! Will it Run?!? "Ran When Parked" One Owner Jewel!!

  • I purchased this 1966 Ford F100 on an online farm auction in north central North Dakota. The auction description stated it had a 300 6 cylinder engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. That it "Ran When Parked" and was also stored in a shed. So I took a gamble and this is what I got! I just received the title this week and Razzy was the original owner! That's right the title was dated November 18th, 1965! How cool is that?!? If only this truck could talk! That along with the onboard air compressor, toolbox and tow hitch. I'm pretty attached to this one and even started buffing out the paint which is turning out nicely. I didn’t really want to let this one go at this time but the right offer came through so it’s been sold to a viewer in New Jersey.

This is a nice old truck. That paint will probably shine up quite well. I like the simplicity laid back nature of this truck. It’s got it’s own personality. The gas tank probably needs a major service cleaning and the fuel line blown out. So far, need a rear axle seal, break light switch, fix what ever is howling in the engine compartment, newer tires, wiper blades and make sure the wiper works. And your golden. Probably need a new oil pressure sending unit. This is a truck you clean up a bit and just drive, use and enjoy.

As soon as he hooked it up I said to myself "wanna bet it's in gear" and it was. Starts fiddling with the points and I says to myself "shock coming" and he did. Damn nigh peed myself laughing, especially having done that myself once in a while. And then there was the time that I got my 16 year old son to hold a spark plug against the block to check for spark while I cranked the Camaro over while figuring it would start right up. It did, he jumped about 3 feet up and back screaming like a little girl. Don't know why but I think that he was upset with me, he's been scared of car wiring ever since, especially if I'm around. Got his big brother the same way working on his snowmobile that was mysteriously running on only one cylinder. Told him to make sure the plug wires were seated in place while it was running. Talk about light my fire, last time he checked his plugs with wet leather gloves on.

If you are serious about building a mobile rig, this will probably be the best candidate you are likely to come across. It is relatively rust free, doesn't seem to have any major mechanical issues, and with all of the added goodies it has, it certainly has a lot going for it. Mortske driving around in a rig named Princess would be priceless. With the number of old Fords that you seem to find, it's not like it would be hard to find a seat, door, and mirror. This one is a keeper.

Had that year, was my old man's first truck and I got it after 6 years. Slow but dependable 240 3 speed on the column with no radio. You could hear the gas sloshing around behind the seat. It had a manual choke which was a mystery of what it did when I was young and just started fooling around with cars. Good memories.

The real iron ,. 66 Ford F-150,. Cool , love it , Mr vice grip garage. I know someone who had 2 , put , a potent 429 or 460,. Big pair ,. A whole lot of torque. Bottom end torque. Needless to say, they had to sell both. Yup, people hating Ford's , raced him and WELL,. They had to go ,. I drove one for a short time, and talk about room , gee,. Any size motor would work. 👍👍. @@MortskeRepair you are welcome. It's better than watching videos, that should never be on here, or Facebook. I think, 87,000 miles original miles , not the same motor , the old motor was , junk , in?? Oh, that's right, in 1984 ? It's was replaced by another older motor that bolted right in , a 1976 Ford Grand Torino ex police car. 400 ,. A power house motor , I wish the old motor was kept, it's gone, I do have a 460 , that will bolt right up to the bell housing. No changing nothing. But, I think both of these motors need rebuilding,. The whole pick-up day in a barn , with a hole in the middle of it , sat through, from 1988, until 2003 , hood is very rusted , body ?? Genders , cab, etc . I don't know if it can be saved. It hasn't run since 2007 ,. Tailgate is junk ,. Back split window is the deal is damaged. So, it's going to be a guessing game, until I look at it. Hey Mortske. There are two main things I love about buying an old truck. 1) Old trucks are just COOL to own. and 2) Is the treasure hunt through the truck to see what they left. I see Duff in like my Bandit. He loves the shop because of the cool cement floor. Hey Mortske, Did I ever ask you if you wanted to share shop stickers? If not, I am asking you now. Do you want to trade shop sticks? I thought we had this conversation before, but I never received anything from Your shop. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

A few days ago, I purchased a 1985 Ford F-150 with the 300 engine with a 4 speed transmission. It has a similar valve noise to your truck with a very strong oil pressure. After a motor oil and oil filter change, The engine seemed to run even more smoothly and does not appear to smoke any at all with only some very small drips. One thing that I want to do is to change out the fuel filter just for good measure and peace of mind. My truck actually has factory AC that works. Someone rigged up the blower circuit and relocated the fan switch and used a black power cord directly to the starter solenoid for the power source with a crimp in ATC fuse holder. So far, I have had to repair/replace the 1157 bulbs and one new socket for the right rear taillight and also replaced the headlights with Sylvania Silverstars. Thanks for your great video.

Fuel gauge not working on that era of Ford usually means gauge float has corroded and falls off or sinks. I replace brass floats with plastic float off old, in tank fuel pumps.
