I've been binging tire sealant videos for my car tires and finally this video sold me. FlatOut it is! Straight to the point and you showed me exactly what I needed to see!
@@iconyxxx That's because of the risk of sealing the valve stem. I'll take that risk. Won't need it anymore if my tire never goes flat. And I could just replace it if it did.
It might have worked if it had more flat out in it. It probably was low from the last two drill holes so I bet it would have had a better chance with adding more flat out after the 1/4 in drill hole. But great stuff
I have been watching videos for flat out and slime, after watching this video I have decided to try this product. I have slime tubes installed on a couple of my bikes and so far have had no punctures. But now I have an electric bike I want the added peace of mind. Your video was great, explains everything well and shows real puncture tests. I've never before had a punture as large as that 3/8 drill bit made, so hopefully that luck will continue for me, I've been bicycling for 53 years so far. Thank-you.
Yes you should have filled the tire again and added more Flat Out. They recommend a specific amount. As far as the mess, when drilling a hole you are actually removing an entire plug of rubber and inner tube. This could never happen in real life. For a more accurate test you would want to drive a 1/4 and 3/8 diameter piece of steel in so that when pulled out the rubber comes back together. It's amazing that it can even plug the hole when removing a section of rubber. When sealing a puncture that comes back together there is no pamela anderson effect :D
My Flat tire moment, Ive notice when using flat out the tires get foamed up inside tire. The cool part as how I rode thru a serious pothole which bended the valve of a cut on the neck of valve, was 5 miles away from home of hearing the air come out but,, the lubricate inside tire kept my tire in form and not all the way flat flat of tire coming out of rim on most flat outs without flat out lubricate. I still was able to ride 5 miles with the tire still having the rim in place and very easy to ride home to change or patched up the cut. I now know when using Flat Out on my bikes, any puncture of tire going flat, it will still have form to ride home but at slow speeds, better than walking bike home due to tire coming out of rim which is not advisable to ride home on the rim. Great stuff and a MUST in all my bikes.
Been 2 years since using on all my ebikes with 2 moments that ended up on the Flat Out side of working. Twice with 2 different scenarios of tire going flat only to pump back up and still fine, the other being the latest of my valve neck getting cut by rim of a pothole ride thru but still had the form of tire to ride home without tire slipping out of the rim's edges.
This is exactly the real world proof I needed to confidently spend a weeks worth of laundry money on a bag of this stuff. THANK YOU! Also, I think that Pamela joke squirted so hard, it got all over the Subscribe and Like button! HA! Though, it ran out before it could get on the Bell icon, soooo I guess I'll have to do that one manually.

Slime is only good for 2 years according to the company. Flat out is good for 10 years. I've thrown out my slime and moved on to flatout. All I carry now is a small air pump should I lose pressure before the Flatout seals the tire. $20 buys allot of piece of mind .
Nice review. Think how much money coulda save years ago. If I found this stuff. buying slime and anti puncture tires. Hope it's good against glass to. That's the main problem in my city.💯
Great video!! For some reason, i got 2 flats within the past month. I may try tannus armor but really don't want to shell out $111.
I'm pretty impressed with this test. Do you know if Flatout works with inner tubes? I realise it works better with Tubless, but I'm looking at this strictly from a "Get Me Home!" standpoint. Once I'm home I'll change the tube, I just don't want to be doing it on the side of the road. I've been using slime since they have a varient for inner tubes, but from what I've seen here Flatout may be better. I don't think I'll be running over any 3/8 drill bits, just want it to work with standard nails & thorns. I hate to do this to you, but I'd love to see that 3/8 test again on a fully inflated tire and a fresh load of flatout (I'm guessing you lost quite a bit of the sealent in the previous tests). Liked and subscribed, this was a really good video.

If you deflate the tube by pushing in the valve core (something you would need to do to replace the tire), will the flatout start squirting out of the valve?
Well, it work on a 20 x Ebike tire with the cracked rim, it’s where the two pieces come together and electronically fuse. I’ve developed a hairline crack now my tire leaks.
This is my 1st exposure to this product so please correct any inaccuracies but if I understand this, it remains in liquid state, only to solidify around a leak...a scab of sorts, lol. 1 of the benefits of the green goo it's that when correctly applied, it gives an even coat. Given this, how does a constant liquid affect tire balance? Without a correction for this consideration, any motorized vehicles w this should be banned from freeways!
I'm not sure about what you're saying, but a small hole filled with a solidified flatout clump has a negligible amount of weight and will barely effect wheel balance.
@@maximumchargeEV he's saying liquid moving around in a moving tire is dangerous. Other brands like Ride On sealants actually grip around the inner tire and actually "balance" the tire and make riding safe. If this sealant swooshes around inside the tire, at fast speeds your tire will start to wobble.
Just wanted to add a comment that might help others when they get an ebike flat . First rest assured you eventually you will get one. Knowing in advance how to handle the situation will help you stay calm & prevent you from damaging your bike. First when you get a flat do not try to walk it to a convenient place to repair it; this will damage the tire & worse cause permanent damage to the rim. Park & lock the bike as close to where the flat occurred. If you have your cell phone with you call for assistance ; if not walk to the nearest place where you can get help. Go back home get your truck or car go back where you locked the bike bring it home & repair it or take it to a shop to repair it for you.
Or you could always carry a patch kit, just fix the flat and keep going. I remember feeling a bit intimidated about fixing a flat on my first fat tire e-bike, especially the rear one. Turns out, it's pretty easy, and you don't even need to remove the tire. I firmly believe that if you're going to ride an e-bike, it's a good idea to learn these basic skills. That said, I do use Flat Out in my tires now simply because fixing flats all the time can get tiresome!
Or prevent the hassle of calling for assistance and ride it much more towards a preferred bike shop thanks to the effectiveness of FlatOut! Prevention i the best solution! Saves all the money spent on Uber!
I was using Slime but I stopped using it for electric scooter tubeless. I was told to use Armadilloz which it’s recommended and I was using LiquiTube and I need to get this one
Keep in mind if its spinning like it would be while riding it does seal as fast as possible. Best bet if you dont trust this is a laser beam in front of the bike to vaporize all matter as you ride but we don't have that tech available to the public at an affordable price yet, come back to this comment in 37 years.
Same thing here but in Perth (Western Australia). Riding a bike here kinda sucks because of all the random thorn bushes that you don't see until you ride right over them that are growing right in the street or in parts of the road/footpath (you call it a sidewalk there I believe).@@jnb756
