I was laying down last night thinking about what todays little encouragement would be and as you all know, every time I write one of these it’s what I’m currently struggling with. It’s not a projection of what I think you need, it’s always me speaking to myself like a public journal. I want to encourage you all to not forget to have fun along the journey! To laugh, let go of the pressure! To enjoy the process of whatever it happening in your life. In the same way that people say “being kind is free” it’s the same with having a joyful spirit! It doesn’t cost us anything to live out and it honestly probably hurts us when we aren’t living with joy in our hearts. I mean that. Have you ever experienced being truly happy? Not because you have everything you want, but because you have all that you need? Well in Christ, we have all we need and so now we are playing with house money and GET to walk through life and enjoy our journey as We learn to experience God, love others, and grow in our faith! So, I’ll say it again. Have fun along the journey! Don’t be afraid to press pause and slow down to enjoy yourself where you are instead of always running after the next thing… you’ll end up running away from the same thing that provides you Joy!

I am in a relationship(10 months) but I am 16 years old. My mom has been divorced 3 times and my dad has been divorced 3 times. I thrive to have a really good marriage and my boyfriend thrives to have a good marriage. His mom and dad are divorced as well and it makes us nervous and thrive to have a really good marriage. I’m nervous to ask people for advise bc I always hear your young. Do you have any advise?
Two pieces of advice:
1) God can heal anything and break any cycle - ask yourselves what are the qualities you’d want in a spouse, and what are the qualities that God wants in your spouse. And ask yourself if you’re able to be that same kind of spouse (the one God wants).
2) and yes you ARE young - But high school sweethearts are a thing sometimes, so ask yourself those big questions even at your young age. Don’t let your age prevent you from being obedient to Gods plan, only He gets to tell you who you are and what his plan for your life is… and it may include your boyfriend… it may not. Pray!!! Trust His word and his timing.

I got to meet Dave and Ashley in February when they spoke at Church of the Highlands' annual marriage conference. I'm single and have been soaking up all the things on relationships during the past 4 yrs of being single (actually how I came across your channel back in 2019). It was so good and I'm so glad I went and that all this info is coming to me now to help me grow as a person. And I can use it to help ALL my relationships, not just dating/marriage. God's opened my eyes to so many opportunities, it's crazy but a very enjoyable journey. I love learning and He's the best teacher😁

Not only do we have to heal, we have to be strengthened. Kind of like any surgery on an ACL. You get the problem fixed and you heal, but you also go through rehab to strengthen that ligament/tendon again.
