It seems to me that the reason is quite simple honestly: the first seasons were very much open in bashing both political sides, which attracted quite a portion of the ones that are against "wokeism", now in the later seasons they've become more open in using jokes against THAT kind of people, which now seems to have turned the tables. It's the old South Park dichotomy where as long as your side is not the one being mocked, then the show is good.
Well no the main problem is they went from not picking sides and just making fun of both sides to where now they are strictly focusing on shitting on the right.
@@MMAGaming365so you think firecracker and her fans are representatives of the whole right wing? in my opinion they only represent the insane part of the alt-right. plus victoria neuman is a liberal and she's as bad a person as it gets which completely negates your argument of "strictly focusing on shitting on the right"
The reason I got into the Boys was because it was very character/story driven in seasons 1. As it progressed, the politics started to drive the story telling rather than the characters and it got tedious.
Hello, im relative new to the series, on season 2 so far, but one thing i fine interesting that no one seems to talk about, is that the viwership of season 4 was increased by 21 % the first 4 days compared to season 3.
Still a fun show. Kripke is what he says he is. The comic book and show is written by people who hate the superhero genre & the fans. That's what's pretty obvious, the writers mock both sides, the right & the left and this show also mocks the fans of the superhero genre. That hate is pretty obvious this season. That's where the backlash comes from, in my opinion. The show is not making a statement about politics. It's mocking the people, the public. I am really removed from the political process, so I find the show entertaining.
@JYoung-h3bthere are more than 2 sides but i guess if you live in a 2-party system you sometimes forget that. how mocking the alt-right is somehow considered woke is beyond me, those lunatics shouldn't be considered a viable political option by any sane person, left- or right-leaning
The show use to be better at the beginnig becuase they were underdogs, fighting a bigger fish only with few resources and crazy stuff. Now they have help from the government, they are dealing with feelings and whinying about public image. They used to be way more based.
Eh, I started the season reluctantly, hoping to become engaged, but I ultimately bailed on it. It’s not that they’ve changed drastically in terms of themes, it’s just that they’re laying it on so thick. I get that some people like it that way, I just don’t find it very satisfying as a viewer. Looking back at it as a whole, I think 3 seasons would have been enough for me.
They were better off when they took shots at both political sides. If you have to include politics in your show but want a universal audience, you can't show you have too much favouritism to one side while completely insulting the other, because then you lose that half of your audience. This latest season has leaned too heavily on one side. The second biggest problem, is now the gross factor is in every episode rather than one or two. And when I say gross I mean in the sexual way not the gory way, people are saying they can barely watch an episode because they have to be looking away from the screen most of the time. The kinky stuff is too common now
@@NaglfarCommando The only people that don't like the show are magates and Trump supports who are butt sore because the show hits so close to home. Trump would BE Homelander if he could.
Agreed!! I was fine with subtle jabs at politics, it was obvious throughout the show. But this season is sooooo overblown and explicit with every thinking point. I even agree with some things they’re trying to say, but it’s just so glaringly distracting from the main plot which is what we’re here for.
Yeah 100%, i would have liked if they were subtle about it and not make a stupid version of a rightoid carricature. Or idk, at least depict both sides as extreme, show a nuanced version of reality. The left can't just be shown as the good guys who don't do anything wrong and the right as evil fascists, that's uninteresting. Show how both sides slowly start to hate each other, and how homelander uses these tensions to his advantage
I have to disagree with you on Frenchie and his sexuality. Nothing in the previous seasons suggests that he was bisexual. They’re just forcing it to be “inclusive”. It’s them trying to be woke when they’ve never been before. In fact it’s a show that’s famous for not caring about that kind of stuff, and now they seem to bowing to the pressure.

Probably the reason everyone's shitting on it now is that wayyy more people are watching it.

Exactly my point. Personally, I find the season entertaining too.
It’s heaping pile of shite
@JYoung-h3b Yeah, they do go hard on the right, but they insult supporters of each side. Kripke & his family are vocal supporters of one side.

I agree with you, they were. But remember, they can't be the underdogs forever. Btw Vought's still running circles around them.

I mean I’ll wait until the end to see, but it does feel kind of weak. Like Hughie’s dad getting V was so strange and felt like filler
@Wesley-Insley-Comedy You might be right, but let's see how it all plays out.
Showrunners say go watch something else when they don't get the reaction they want but then are surprised when the audience does what they said
So true

Nice to hear your opinion. I can see why you see it this way, hopefully, the showrunners surprise us with something spectacular moving forward.
Define "woke". I honestly have no idea what it means.

I personally feel the writers always leaned toward left wing commentary. And by the way, the Boys has a reputation of not being subtle.

My thoughts exactly. Though he does make some viable points in his video, but ultimately it just comes across as pandering to the mob to get views.
