- China has consistently produced some of the best weightlifters our sport has ever seen. These are some of the athletes we can expect to be challenging for medals at the IWF World Championships in Thailand this September, and of course the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo...
Footage provided by the IWF archive, All Things Gym, China Global Television Network and China Central Television.

As hectic as this video is, IWF needs to recognise that All Things Gym and Hookgrip have carried the weight of weightlifting promotion that has led to weightliftings increasing popularity.
yeah and they didn't get the chance to film training during the last olympics in Rio
I totally agree with it.
IWF sucks....😡😡
And Weightlifting House.
IWF, these long docs are great. But how about some training hall footage, or sponsor ATG / HG to do them for you? These guys are doing amazing work to help spread weightlifting. Yet they are struggling financially to support themselves.. Thats not right
Look at all your likes mate. Too bad it doesn't equal money lol
A bit chicken and egg. Most of traditional advertising dollars goes to motorsport Football Cricket etc. all those sports show some team put themselves against the other. In weightlifting it’s man vs the barbell.
@@FruityYu He is talking about Hookgrip and and all things gym
Majin thanks, you’re right. i don’t even remember why I said that...
Weightlifting changed my life. I’m so pumped watching this. I am going to be a Florida champion 👏
Good luck and have fun

This is simply beautiful put together, no unnecessary commentary or unwanted affects. Well done to everyone involved in making it.

What a great video!
10:00 look at Tian Tao's knees
Francisco Jacinto he double dips very often
That's something he's fixing i think. Or else he'd definitely pay for it.
Where would I get wrist wraps like Zhang Wangli at 6:04 ? They're awesome
How can he do this?
Hardworking
Talent + hardwork + ‘supplements’

Strong beasts!
Powerlifters from other countries are hella big but these Chinese look normal...Jesus
Pure muscle and no fat, I don’t know how they do it
@Durrant Miller i've read somewhere else that weight classes are height classes in disguise and somewhat is true, as more height can get more muscles
Shen!lijun,not Chen,thank you
I beg your pardon...thank you for what???

i was going through medals tally in Olympics and i found that before 1984 china has zero medals but from 1984 Olympics they almost had medals in all category. i am curios how instantly they started wining medals? any thoughts
Maybe because of the economic reform and open up in 1978. China was pretty much closed to the outside world before that. Then they gradually opened up and start to participate in global affairs.

No. Its not absolutely Right 👍👍👍👍👍
They got sum great drugs I'll give them that
One day srilanka will be on this 💯
Unfortunately. We never will. We don't train our lifters from a young age and don't put in enough resources to get them to elite status
that can always change. i have faith in sri lankan athletes and fans to rise above circucumstances
Wait why would you guys write in traditional chinese (0:26) They only write in traditional chinese on taiwan not mainland china.
Mainland China also use traditional Chinese on writing
Strafe lots American even still speak German in some small middle west town, be clever kid.

These announcers are pathetic at pronouncing their own alphabet.
Normally Chinese people are not very physically strong. Being a Chinese, I don’t understand how some of these people can generate so much strength. Maybe I ate the wrong food.
no ur just a weak individual lol Asian are some of the strongest pound for pound
Mmm you just weak
Lol you must be those feminine hkers, mainlanders and westerner born chinese are pretty big these days
China has definitely some of the best performance drugs.
I mean it's not like the other nations are not abusing them aswell... the chinese simply work harder than the rest, remember that even with drugs, strenght and muscle don't build themselves, they simply increase the limit.
@@CodeineTuttiFrutti All nations do it. I have trained at a lot of high ranked gym throughout the UK and every person I have met has said China make the best drugs for performance enhancing. And also the Russians.
@@AlmightyAaron0423 Who cares about France lol. I think you need to read my last comment..."all nation's do it"

"A system can't fit every kind of athlete" that sounds quite Bulgarian but not Chinese

Jesus Christ, I just contracted herpes from reading that......
@@thrash_and_beer7118 Bulgarian here! I've only been interested in weightlifting for a year ( i myself do calisthenics) so I don't really get what you are saying. Does it have something to do with the 70s and 80s?
中国维尼皇 China overrated? LOL
@@CodeineTuttiFrutti AFAIK the Bulgarian method is comparatively more selective, it strengthens your nervous system by frequently maxing out, however recovery will be a big problem for those who are not that gifted (or if you can handle it you are really outstanding, like suleymanoglu who can still play soccer after a whole day's training). The Chinese method is less extreme and emphasizes overall strength including the training of "small muscles".
