Sweet, I'm definitely going to get a set of these. I have a fake Rolex, so I'm not worried about hurting it. I'm sure it would be nothing special to most people, but my grandfather bought it back in the early 80's. My dad got it when my grandfather passed away, and brought it to a jeweler to have the battery removed so he could store it. I always thought it was cool when I was a kid, so my dad gave it to me for my 18th birthday. Hopefully I can put a battery in it now.

Awesome caliber ! Robust, very well engineered, precise (better than “standard” cosc when well mantained and regulated), w/quality materials, decorated in a “tool watch” perspective, part of what makes any Rolex so charismatic 👍

Cool video & demonstration ! I had the same tool as well. My suggestion is using a ziploc back to act as a protective barrier between the caseback and the tool. 😎👍
Saves yourself from accidental scratches. At least, that’s my procedure when opening up watches before servicing movements or tasks.

This is a funny video. Of course this $20 caseback tool set would open most standard Rolex or Tudor with casebacks under 29.5mm. Anything bigger (ie. Sky Dweller 34.0mm and Deep-sea SD 36.5mm), you'll need to buy additional dies sold individually. I've been using my set for years without issues. First thoroughly clean both the teeth/grooves on the caseback and the die socket teeth with rubbing alcohol. Then be sure to match the exact teeth size to the caseback (no play clockwise or counter-clockwise), mesh down firmly and slowly turn it counter-clockwise. After about a quarter turn, the caseback will be loose enough; you can then remove the lever bar and lightly unscrew the caseback with the socket using your fingers (be sure to retain the pressure on the caseback as you turn to ensure it doesn't slip). Unless you're a professional and need to open casebacks every day, there's no need to purchase a Bergeon set at 10x the price. These are perfectly fine for hobbyists who knows how to use the tools properly.

Call that brave? I needed to get the back off an oyster perpetual to change the battery (it was a fake) and did it as someone joked about in a forum - superglued a screwdriver blade to the back. Worked a charm. No stress on the watch case, just fingertip torque, and then nail varnish remover to get the blade off the back and wipe it clean. Just don't overdo it, small screwdriver, drop of glue.

There is no reason not to use this tool to remove a watch back. Rolex tries to make a mystique over watch repairs. A complete overhaul take two hours. You need a few basic tools to do some basic repairs.

EDC Gunner I' m just messing about. Seriously, I traded for a Daytona last year, and few weeks after the trade, the chrono start/stop button fell off. It was the end cap and lock that came off. I held the lock nut in needle nose pliers (I can hear the collective horror) while screwing down the cap onto the chrome stem with other pliers. Make no mistake, you gotta be careful when messing about with a watch worth any high value. My fix worked, the chrono works well, I put a few tiny scratches on the cap and lock nut, not noticeable, part of my watch now, I guess. Those parts my get replaced when the watch is next serviced.
