  • Quick Video to go over this screw down case back remover that I have found can remove even the most stubbornly tight case backs without scratching your watch like hand tools tend to do.

    thanks for the video.. I don't think I'd do as you say at 4:14 though. I'd start screwing the case back on with my fingers but not with the tool.. if it crosses the thread you won't 'feel' it very well with the large handle at the top. I remember seeing engineers taking various threaded items off with power tools and then putting them back on with the same tool without hand starting them first by hand. For the amount of expense for the error and cussing that followed it was not worth the few seconds of their time. Thanks again for taking the time to demo the tool

    Just gone and got one - thanks for the video - I have all the other types you show and managed to scratch my watch backs - but no more thanks to you and this video/ Tool - I did look for this type of tool but found the expensive ones over 1000, but this ones seems to be what I need - thanks again...

    An exact copy of the Bergeon 5700. That one is $900, the thing is it is the real thing. The Swiss machine and tool making is top notch, but then again, it can easily exceed the cost of any Seiko collection 😄

      😯 Bergeon does make high quality tools though. I have a spring bar remover of theirs and it has lasted much longer than the amazon ones did

    Not having any luck with two point or three point case back removers. Thanks for the tip. EBay would add $80 shipping to the $102, so I went with Amazon. I'm a Prime member so shipping was free. Anyway, I should be set within a week. So thanks!

    Looks like a good tool. I've scratched many a case back trying to undo them. My worst scratch is on a Tag Heuer F1 trying to change the battery.

    picked one up - thanks for the review- some of the insert pcs need to be trued up a bit to sit snuggly into their holders - and i also cant quite figure out how to adjust the spacing on the two pusher holders - but all in all for the price - im impressed - mine came with the rolex dies and them seem to work well

      @watchify1775  Год назад

      That's cool. Yeah, wish this had come with some instruction booklet. Later I learned it is better to use the dies that fit in-between the lugs in order to minimize possible damage to the case exterior. This opener has been serving me well 👍

    I have an expensive Bergeon tool. Their tools are not as great as one may be lead to believe based on their ridiculously high prices.

      My Bergeon springbar tool has been holding up well. The metal appears to be of higher quality. That is the only tool from them I have.

    As someone that hasn't opened a caseback, is it possible to cover the caseback with a thin piece of fabric/plastic to prevent scratches or does it cause slipping? I can imagine it being easier on some casebacks with deeper grooves.

    • @watchify1775
      @watchify1775  Год назад

      Every case back I have come across is prone to slipping with too thick of a plastic film. Thinner film still didn't prevent scratches for me

      The problem is they make the tips out of metal for some stupid reason. They should be using carbon fiber tips.
