I remember my fist and last time in State Fair of Texas, it was in 2019 before return to my hometown in Brazil. I was so excited and amazed by all the stuff that we could do in one single day. But I agree with the ppl, the prices are crazy high. I did only a few rides.. A little bit of nostalgia watching your video, I'm missing Texas now! lol
i just went today. i het my friend 1 dollar that he would not go on techno power, (he did). then, after i wanted to act cool so i asked him if he wanted to go on the beast, which we did and i almost threw up after. and then we go on the spaceship type of ride for the first time and oh my god i could not belive how much fun it was. and then i passed out, got home, and am writing this. (:
Been to it,long long time ago 1971. the best thing about the fair is the Football Game,Texas against Oklahoma. Beer B-B-Q,Football,(and it's a huge huge rivalry game) stands are 50% red,50% orange...100% fighting drunk. The marching bands get into fights with each other.I was in the Army, just back from overseas in Germany. We got tickets fro Fort Sam Houston Brooke Medical, M.W.R. We had to pick a side. We had to pick a side, picked Texas and game was a 6 to 6 tie.Texas fans won the fights..Never been to a party that huge.
Great tour! I would spend the hottest part of the day in the exhibit halls. I wonder what the agriculture looks like after the record breaking heat wave this past summer.
I was a traveling carney from 2009 to 20011, and one of our last stops across the country was the Texas State Fair. The worst part about this fair was the cash-for-coupon changeability throughout the entire system. Even food is paid for with coupons. If you're a shady carney with itchy fingers, all you have to do is pocket some coupons from a ride you're working at, and eat lunch & dinner for the day. And if you're REALLY a criminal, you can scoop up coupons during the entire stint and sell them to one of the shadier bosses for 50¢ on the dollar. It's a BAD system; but hell, what system in Texas isn't.
Hi, we're from UK and will be taking a whole month off work to visit Texas, not specifically the Texas State Fair, but that will feature in the holiday (vacation). As we want to be able to visit ad-hoc on any day we choose of the 24 days, would you recommend the Season Pass? We plan on spending about 7 days in total at the State Fair within those 24, for the Music especially, but also for the food and possibly to test drive the vehicles, if they will accept a UK driving licence ! Any tips and or recommendations you all could give would be amazing and we are counting down the days to our visit.
Yeah I would go for the season pass if you are going that many times. Unfortunately not sure if the test drive takes an international drivers license or not.
WHAT ARE THOSE PRICES?? I can ride Olympia Looping in central London- a giant coaster they drive across Europe and a sea on sixty trucks to get to location -for like the same price as swan boats
dude i agree, no way that buffalo should be in that small enclosure. well done for pointing that out. Left a bad taste in my mouth, other than that video was great.
I don't see why folks even spend their money on these fairs. They have the same food and rides every year with the prices slightly higher than the previous year. $8 to $35 for one ride. No wonder you don't see but 2 or 3 people on the rides. People quit spending your money on these cheap thrills.
Because they are stupid, and people love that nasty food. People have no more to do either watch football, shopping or eat, that's why 99% of people in TX are fat.
...i dont spend $10 bucks on a dinner meal outside of an "event" like this state fair. To spend $15 bucks on an entre or ice cream bar is ridiculous. I feel im being duped by over pricing and would rather seek out the "fair" priced items staying away from gimmick foods. How can a MacDonald's employee take his family to this fair and expect to comfortably hang there for hours before the cash is gone? More people will be left out from going to a fair because prices are out of control.

Wow!! Those prices are nuts even for California! A middle class family of 4 would go broke.
Those prices are crazy. Just a few rides and you could buy a ticket to a real amusement park.
Thank you for this! New to area and going for the 1st time today! Nice to get familiar with it before hand.

Great video tour! I’m excited to go this weekend! And thanks for the tip regarding the water bottle refill stations. I was worried about that. Thanks!

Be careful, this in the long run produces the lack of life. Take good care of yourselves, my people. Remember what the skull represents.
