This is a State Fair folks, it is not an amusement park, can't compare them. Prices will be high if you want to ride all the time. If you go for the true fair atmosphere it is not that bad. I buy 2 season passes each year that comes with bonus coupons for $115. Have fun multiple times and watch some pretty dang good concerts in the evening and not bad bands playing during the day. Only available online for purchase.
jeffmaxfield1964 I’m from North Carolina, just moved here, our state fair has more rides and big ones too like the first one shown. I was very disappointed driving 4 hours from San Antonio to come here. Food was great though.
That Wind Storm Coaster used to operate as a permanent attraction at Fun Forest at Seattle Center. The ride operated from 1992-2010 and in the latter years it ran rough. We had a chance to ride it at the Iowa State Fair and were pleased in how well it ran. I believe Steve Voorst purchased it from Fun Forest and refurbished it prior to leasing it out as a traveling attraction to fairs. The Washington State Fair in Puyallup, Washington, also operates a Sky Ride with enclosed gondulas. This ride operated at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair and became a permanent attraction at the fair in 1980. We also have a historic wooden coaster, a Schwarzkopf Wild Cat, and another permanent coaster that originally came from the Azoosment park in Indiana. Another permanent ride is a 200+ foot S&S drop tower.
Glad you enjoyed the windstorm. We have done alot of modifications to make it as smooth as possible, with the amount of action it has in such a small footprint, it definitely packs a punch.
We had the Techno Power ride at our local fair, it was by far the most horrific experience I’ve had, it gave me extreme blood rush *10/10 would do again*
FYI they allow coolers and you can bring your own food and drinks I highly recommend bring your own drinks to save coupons but no alcohol! You can get water bottles if you forgot for $1
Mango on a stick is Mexican! You put chamoy, lime and tajin on it. Spicy and sour! Texas has a lot of Mexican foods! And mango in a stick is very popular!! 💗
I am glad to see you go to the many state fairs and even county fairs, especially since you live in an area next to disneyworld florida!!!!!!! Thanks for trips,am having a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Equinox ride was fun but it might have been the most uncomfortable thing ever. The seat is like a standup coaster but with no floor to stand on so balancing the whole ride on your sensitive bits
im so glad i live in dallas, i go here every year. i do wish the slingshot and skyscraper weren't so expensive cause i wanna get on both :/ also i hate the equinox, it's uncomfortable af
Thank you for enjoying what we have in our own country, because I have never been out of the usa and I love exploring and going to various amusements and events we can enjoy in our country, have not been to all 50 states its ok,we have a lot to have fun to go to also!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm from Pa. also, wanted to go to the fair, but couldn't make it this year. I've never been there but hope to go next year. This was a very good video to learn about the fair.
i cant wait for the bullet train from houston to dfw so i can go to the tx state fair and the red river shot out football game at the cottom bowl..it would be cool to see you at the Texas Renaissance Festival .
Some of these rides and fun houses looks like the ones from European fairs. The New York New York house looks like it could be one from a european fair. They are known to have multi level fun houses.
My phone fell out of my pocket on windsurf at my home fair. Thankfully the bottom is a tarp so it was saved. And the windstorm coaster used to be at my fair. I always wondered where it went.
Great video. If this was the UK there would be around 4 waltzers and 5 Twisters. There would also be more in the way of MCing on the rides. All large fairs are different.
Makes winter wonderland look like a kiddie fair pulled up on the side of a motorway lol. Still would love to go I need to re mortgage the flat but yeh.
I like how you’re complaining that the rides are $6 to ride (12 coupons) oh I’d kill for Australian carnival rides to be that cheap!! 1 coupon is normally $1.50 and the majority of the rides cost 6-8 coupons. So at least $12 to ride a carnival ride... :).
You have to understand that the minimum wage is right over $7 an hour though. Dallas also has a growing real estate market and rent is incredibly high, not to even account for other issues. It's rough for a lot of people who want to go to the fair with, well, more than just their self! The fast food restaurants close to the grounds get a lot of money, for sure, though. People try to eat up before they enter.
One time when I went to the fair I went on a ride called the viper, and what it was was the ride lifted up and spun around (not up and down side to side) and then after a wile the arm the seats were attached to started spinning then after that the seats started spinning. After riding that I dubbed myself the spin ride king.
37:28 Woofus!! Fun Fact: That is not the original Woofus statue. Unfortunately, the original was stolen quite some time ago and never recovered. This is a recreation based off of what people remembered the statue looking like and the features is had.
Went to the state fair on 6th and a bunch of guys wearing the longhorn T-shirts were trying to sell those 3 dollars US flag gifts to people, and kept telling people if they don't buy them they don't like America. Told them not interested then they got mad and cursed. How come those trashes were allowed to sell staffs at food court?
Rabbit on the unicycle used to be a guy with a top hat lol. Long time ago. Texas Skyway has been there for probably 50+ years. It was closed for a while after a car fell off and some folks were killed. (1980s) I'm certain tech improvements will prevent that from ever happening again. Starship is another one that has been appearing there for many years. Most of these are the same rides that have been at the fair for a very long time. Pretty high nostalgia factor.
Honestly, when I went to the Texas state fair last year I was only like 9 and Big Tex actually scared me when he said “Welcome to the Texas State Fair” And when he waved his hand like that scared me. Lolol Edit: I also went on the Texas Skyway it was pretty cool I can see the whole fair from up there especially when I went on the Farris wheel lol
Does anybody know if the dark ride shown here, Scary Park is the old Flight to Mars that was re-purposed? It looks like the same frame. I was at the '62 worlds fair in Seattle and never forgot the Flight to Mars, but it was removed and I never figured out where it went...
No, it's been at the State Fair since i was a kid and that was over 40 years ago. It did have a different theme called something like the Lumallusion about 12 years ago before they rethemed it to this newer theme. There are other rides like this around. I do believe the Flight To Mars has the same layout
The slingshot is $35 per person here in England it’s like £5 also the rides in America are so expensive per ride in England is like £1 to £5 even for the really big ones like the booster and slingshot

I wish seattle kept the fun forest :(
I miss it.

It's so awesome that Windstorm is coming back to the San Diego County Fair after 11 years!
FYI they allow coolers and you can bring your own food and drinks I highly recommend bring your own drinks to save coupons but no alcohol!
You can get water bottles if you forgot for $1
4:15 My favorite!!!
Also that funhouse in the beginning ends with your walking through bubbles!!
3:10 These asymmetric armed topspin styled rides are made by a lot of manufacturers but this specific one is the one row model from Zamperla
The artwork with Nelly and the ConAir Cage had me dead 💀🤣🤣🤣
Mango on a stick is Mexican! You put chamoy, lime and tajin on it. Spicy and sour! Texas has a lot of Mexican foods! And mango in a stick is very popular!! 💗

The interesting thing about a Windstorm is that it's basically the same as Runaway Mountain at SFoT.
Thanks for bringing me home!!
That Equinox ride was fun but it might have been the most uncomfortable thing ever. The seat is like a standup coaster but with no floor to stand on so balancing the whole ride on your sensitive bits
Doesn't help that harness kills your shiulders
IM FROM NEW YORK BUT I LOVE ME SOME TEXAS
YEE HAW
im so glad i live in dallas, i go here every year. i do wish the slingshot and skyscraper weren't so expensive cause i wanna get on both :/ also i hate the equinox, it's uncomfortable af
Old wood flying Mouse was great. Best review of State Fair of Texas.Fletcher's corny dogs.
6:10 the most random voice effects for no reason🤣
I take a picture with that Nic Cage picture every time I am at the fair!
Thank you for enjoying what we have in our own country, because I have never been out of the usa and I love exploring and going to various amusements and events we can enjoy in our country, have not been to all 50 states its ok,we have a lot to have fun to go to also!!!!!!!!!!!
i go to the state fair for the food and attractions im a baby when it comes to rides
I love how colorful the fairs and carnivals are as well as the community events.
At the Florida state fair we have the 200 food fairest wheel too but they rebuilt it every year
When I was a kid in Elementary school ( Zaragoza) we would color big Tex and we would get free tickets to the state fair of Texas
Equinox was owned by Billie crow in the uk before transported to the usa
Love your video! Can’t wait to go next week!!
I’m heading down from PA. For the 2021 Texas State Fair! Great video! 👍🏻🇺🇸
I'm from Pa. also, wanted to go to the fair, but couldn't make it this year. I've never been there but hope to go next year. This was a very good video to learn about the fair.

You will regret watching the food court section on an empty stomach and make sure you have one when you get there!

Mango_ Don’t bring things in your pocket when you go on rides
Julien Brosseau lol I’m not stupid. I just forgot that time
Great video. If this was the UK there would be around 4 waltzers and 5 Twisters. There would also be more in the way of MCing on the rides. All large fairs are different.
Europe does fairs right.
I’m so lucky I live in Dallas we are going there tmr I’m so excited
Wow I thought the UK was expensive
Makes winter wonderland look like a kiddie fair pulled up on the side of a motorway lol. Still would love to go I need to re mortgage the flat but yeh.
in the 2nd ride, the background music, what is it called?
There used to be an equinox at canobie lake park in Salem NH
equinox looking great wish it came back to the UK quite like the beast kmg afterburner and airmaxx gotta love kmg machines
Yes! I like KMG too. The lights and stuff on fireball too
The Beast in the UK is a different one than this one, it looks nearly the same tho but the US one is a newer model.
I like how you’re complaining that the rides are $6 to ride (12 coupons) oh I’d kill for Australian carnival rides to be that cheap!!

One time when I went to the fair I went on a ride called the viper, and what it was was the ride lifted up and spun around (not up and down side to side) and then after a wile the arm the seats were attached to started spinning then after that the seats started spinning. 37:28 Woofus!!

The new Mexico state fair is bigger though in square footage

I’m surprised that the Zipper and the Ring of Fire where not at this fair.
Me: hey, I got something at the fair
Like a stuffed animal or something?
Me: no, a new car and a new dog
I ❤️ the state fair!
Honestly, when I went to the Texas state fair last year I was only like 9 and Big Tex actually scared me when he said “Welcome to the Texas State Fair” And when he waved his hand like that scared me. Lolol
Edit: I also went on the Texas Skyway it was pretty cool I can see the whole fair from up there especially when I went on the Farris wheel lol

Come to the Nc State Fair in Raleigh North Carolina and Do a walk through and Review.. it starts October 11th - October 21st
Unlikely, but if the days off work out I will. What city is it in?
@@IntheLoopPodcast Raleigh, North Carolina it starts October 11th and ends October 21st
Howdy Ya'll. God Bless Texas
I'm going Oct 6th for a FFA field trip, i need to know how expensive the food is?
EXPENSIVE EVERYTHING AT THE FAIR IS EXPENSIVE LMAO
the magnum ride is the only one of its kind in the usa the ride goes coast to coast every year very cool
Will it cost 10million to set up all of these at one place like this!!!!
Nice this fair some better flat rides than most of these major amusement parks do.
The rides that are there all year, do they just sit there all year round being unused? Thank you
I think they might run on occasion for some other events, but mostly sit there
@@IntheLoopPodcast That’s crazy, thanks for answering me, I’ve always wondered
Why is the fair look so empty?
I’ve never been to a state fair. Do we have to pay for rides?
Yes
In the Loop thank you :)
YEE YEE brother!
I go every year my favorite ride is Kamakazi
Looks like a really nice fair
Go to the State fair of Indiana (every August)
13:16 WAIT THEY HAVE HAUNTED CASTLE TO?! 😱😃
Big Tex is a literal nightmare
He hasn't changed much since I last saw him, in the early 70s.
Deploracle actually big tex changed quite a bit considering it not the original because the original burned downed in 2012
Deploracle the new Big Tex has only been at the fair for only about 5 years
The original guy got fired and the new Big Tex looks totally different.
THANK YOU
You should go to California State Fair it opens in July 17
Went yesterday and it's pretty good

This guy is either scared or just saving his coupons for beer and food
right that’s why i was wondering why he didn’t try out any rides
When I went they had a runaway cow and people chasing after it 😂
I’ve lived here 4 years only went once but definitely going this year
Cate Hernandez I heard about that
declan .c yeah it was crazy. The cow ran right in front of us lol
Adventureland love it where from I grew up in kings park
