    Thinking back (I've only watched two videos by you including this one) your influence was partly why I decided to go with the Ruroc helmet, and here I am on the cliff-edge of buying a Z1 even more after watching this one. Be careful what you review, bro- I could go broke.

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 года назад

      Hey Erik! Lol nice choice on the Ruroc. I don't think I even mentioned it in the video, but it's a great helmet and really unique. And I own a Bern, TSG Pass and a Giro. The Ruroc is kind of it's own thing which I like. The Z1 is pretty fun, I ride it every day. I think it's a solid all-purpose, ride around the neighborhood type of bike now that I've put more miles on it. It's not really the full throttle for miles and miles and miles on country roads kind of bike but for my needs it's pretty great.

    I like what you're doing here. I'm seriously considering an e-bike. Even as far as a Super 73 RX! You know when you start digging, then you go down the f''n rabbit hole? Well that's where I am! I feel that some of these manufacturers are keeping some facts back. Like, how long does the bike last? Is there the opportunity to get replacement batteries? That's just the start..... Do I shell out the dough for what is essentially a glammed up push bike with, let's face it, not much of a warranty, or.....just buy a road motorcycle?! Its doing my nut in!

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 года назад +1

      Haha hey Rod! Yeah I totally understand the feeling. Its like how far do you want to go/spend before it ends up costing as much as a road motorcycle. It's also the fine line between an ebike and motorcycle. One thing to keep in mind is that this technology is constantly evolving so I don't think many of them have been in the wild long enough to make big claims yet. As far as parts go, there's tons of ebike companies but what Super73 has going for it is a pretty large modding community filled with all kinds of folks from casual bicyclists to experienced motorcyclists and where they all meet in the middle is this kind of ebike. This means any information on parts and upgrades (manufacturer and aftermarket) is more readily available than other companies. There's some pretty good videos on RUclips about ebikes vs cars that make some good points. I'll probably do a video like that in the future. Anyway I hope some of that was helpful. Good luck man and lemme know what you end up doing! Peace!

    • @rodkirkbride2230
      @rodkirkbride2230 4 года назад +1

      @@RunPlayBack yeah, totally agree. I like to get my moneys worth out of things (as I suppose we all do, or should anyway). I can see e-bikes getting really big, really soon, which will mean the current offerings will have to compare price and performance wise. If you buy a vintage motorcycle, it'll be forever a vintage motorcycle. The pros and cons, taken into consideration, seem to outweigh each other!

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 года назад +1

      @@rodkirkbride2230 yes exactly! A vintage motorcycle holds value where as an ebike depreciates faster as the technology gets better. That's where I hesitate when an ebike crosses over 2k+ territory. While the specs match the pricing, it comes down to how much it will fit/improve my lifestyle and the value of the brand. That's why you see tons of Super73 knock offs but a used Super73 can be sold much easier and faster than any clone. I don't think I've made that justification (yet) which is why it was a little easier to settle on the price of the Z1.

    ran into your channel as I've been losing sleep trying to decide modding up a z1 or pony'ing up for an S2 (and waiting) leaving it alone and calling it a day. BTW... as a RUclips myself.... awesome production man. Great delivery, no "fat" with the info, and easy to watch/listen to. Anyways... my question is how short/tall are you? I'm 5'4" with short legs and am drawn to the z1 because of that. I can DIY all of the other features that I might miss (I have a DIY ebike now, mid-drive 1000w)... but what I don't know is if I would be missing out on that front air suspension (and whether or not I'll feel that the S2 is too big with a 31" seat height and being a bit heavier). My riding would consist of 99% street/boardwalk/sidewalk riding. Oh and I weigh like 125. Appreciate the help/info.
    Oh and sub'd ;)

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 года назад

      hey man! are we the same person because I'm 5'4" as well lol. I definitely know your channel! I used to do a little FPV back in the day and watched a lot of your videos. You got some great content man, keep up the great work! So as far as the Super73, I was pretty much thinking the same thing regarding the S2. I have no doubt it's a fantastic bike based on the specs alone but I think for guys our height, the Z1 frame fits a little better. You can see a few shots where my legs easily touch the ground which is what you want for a bike that weighs this much. I do a lot of foot sweeping when I turn certain corners and I'm not sure I could do that if the seat were higher. And yeah you can easily DIY the hell out of the frame, from really extreme to somewhat plug and play. Someone on reddit actually found a controller, display and 48v pack that fits inside of the Z1 seat enclosure. With all of that you can get pretty close to S2 specs. Super73 does have that extra suspension fork that fits on the Z1 if that becomes an issue. So I've thought about all those things but honestly haven't felt the need to do any serious mods yet because it's just really a fun ride out of the box. Also I wouldn't want to change it so much that my wife doesn't feel safe with it. I'm actually seriously thinking about picking up another Z1 and modding it for my own use. There's something about DIY thats a little more fulfilling too, especially when you can do it in stages. Also the Z1 frame looks the best in my opinion. I think The S series has a more boxy look and the R series straight up looks like a dirtbike. But the Z just has these angles that make you do a double take in person. Ok I'm rambling now but I hope some of that was helpful. If you're ever around Detroit or Ann Arbor hit me up!

      RunPlayBack dude you used to fly?!?!Thats awesome. And yea man, more than helpful. I agree...
