This will vary by department, but a rule of thumb is as long as the driver's vision is unobstructed, most officers will give you a pass. No, we don't pay for the fuel. Most departments I'm familiar with use gas depots owned by the municipality they serve. We are required to accurately provide the amount of fuel we use and provide the current mileage of the vehicle at the time we refuel.
In my town the city has a contract with a gas company. It is just a company that provides gas for city vehicles. The cops have a pin or card that they can enter at the pumps.

@@nightmarefiles1 Correct E-4 + are all considered NCO's basically they do the roles of what a civilian police Sgt. does, lower level day to day supervision
you can turn down a promotion, usually what happens is the department will look for officers with career goals that include a promotion to LT or whatever. If there's a lack of qualified officers with the desire to be promoted past Sgt they'll ask qualified Sgts how they feel about being promoted long before the promotion ever comes down the pipe. You can turn down a medal but it is always, always considered extremely bad mannered and is usually only done due to some sort of protest with the reason for getting the medal. You will probably get your ass chewed hard for turning down an award of any kind.
what if that person career goal is to in the position they are in and fully continent with there life and the medal thing thats just stupid get your ass chewed out because you just want to be humble as hell and not to showoff
That’s interesting. I’ve never seen stuff like private, staff sgt, or colonel. On my department in Tx, it goes officer, sgt, LT, deputy chief, assistant chief, and then chief. Thanks for sharing :-)
I love the LAPD and LASD rank titles.
How does a dump truck shit out a rock? From what I understand of a dump truck, they do not have digestive systems, and they do not have any mouths. Therefore, they do not have the ability to consume and poop out rocks.
Love you videos officer401
Dumb ass
R/wooosh
What about detectives? Where do they fall in the ranking lineup?
anyone that is/was military that is more confused comment below
It sort of turned into white noise at some point..
I'm wondering what education or certifications it takes to hold the ranks. In the military every comissioned officer (lieutenant or higher) must have at least a baccalaureate degree.
M J really why?
HEMBRO Cause reasons.
Heng Kai Khaw just like, breh wat.
Your content is amazing, and what i like about you is that you like to interact with your viewers, and you give us what we want. And you arent in it for the extra money, you are here to help others understand these things about being a police officer and i love that about you.
You should do a crazy stories video about some of the crazy things you have done or seen. Also love the videos keep up the great work👍
That was an exceptionally helpful and informative video!
Can you show us your Sound System Set-up
When I was an EMT there was such a pile of paper to try to report suspected abuse.
The lazier you are as a police officer the higher rank you will become. #Fact.
I have to disagree. I know some Captains and Lieutenants that are harder working than the officers that work for them.
officer401 much love from Australia 🇦🇺
DemarkableP nah, it's all about who you know, like every profession. There's some hard working Lt.'s and Sarges out there.
Small Town PD Rank Promotion Usually Means Previous Officer Fucked Up, Quit and or Retired......
DemarkableP And i thought hillary was a fucking retarded piece of shit. You now hold the new title.
As a autoglass installer make sure the technician that does you windshield primers all the scratches that he makes while installing you windshield so you don't get rust.
This is one of the most interesting videoes you've made🤔😂
Thanks, I love anything to do with ranks, units and structure in the military, law enforcement or anything else. Good video.
Broken winshield
Rock...NAH
I'm going with the door thing but with winshield.
Great video! Thank you for your service and be safe out on them streets!
Broken windshield!!! Didnt you just fix your car lol
At my small sheriff's office we have deputies, 3 road sergeants, 1 jail sergeant, 1 lieutenant, the chief deputy and the sheriff. We don't have enough deputies to justify all the other ranks.
discord bout to be lit
Lmao same
Thank you for your service
How long does it take to get to rank 401 as a cop?
Cause I wanna get to rank 420.
Not sure if that is his radio/badge # generally the lower the # is the higher the rank. my town PD is in the 800's and 801 is the chief's # a badge in the 20's depending on dept size might be a Capt. or Lt. all the way down to slick sleeve. Its the same thing in Fire/EMS I currently hold a Captains position in my town Dept. and my radio/Badge # is 13 (though it should be 5 right now I just did not want to change my # on account of 13 being my lucky # ;) )
In my county every corporal is either a school resource officer, FTO, or a first line supervisor
Hey Officer401, can you make a video about Police Explores? It's up to you man.
Cool Story Bro no he means police for the school
That window tint Is amazing.
Cause of my depression..:
Not watching enough Officer401 videos ☹️
Cool insight. Was def very curious. Thanks for the vid!
Wow, Officer401 to catch a predator, airing next year on youtube!
You are the definition of a great supervisor! The one who picks up their officers and also cooks for them?! Hope I get you as my supervisor once I become LEO! Stay safe!
hey officer 401 i hope u re having a great day ! i would love to know more about military ranks given ur experience, any way keep the good work .
You are so correct brother, i went behind a desk 4 years ago and i just retired. Wished i hadnt taken that promotion and went behind that desk because its boring as hell. 29 years and 11 months worth. Stay safe out there.
I feel bad for that old guy. Think of it he's probably just like thinking "what the hell why didn't I get a water bottler ass hole!"
Egan Pelak lmao he does. Just without the protein powder.
Liam Tuk pre workout s not protein its an energy formula
Your department knows your specialty, the digital world needs police.
Quick question.
Can they, will they, do they, force officers (of whatever rank) to rank up?
I do not think so.
Screamin Eagle you test for promotions, only if you want to
What does it mean when I would show up and my department chief would run away, or leave the station the moment I walked in? I was fire & rescue. It's a small mom and pop all hazards department of less than 900 in a metropolitan area. I refused further promotion and refused awards. Only after I retired did I get awards through the mail.
I think its funny that police “officers” are still called officers if they have an enlisted rank of military
The ranks don't match up, obviously.
Ralph Ferguson well the insignias do
Yet, enlisted ranks are Non Commissioned OFFICERS corporal and higher
@@nightmarefiles1 Correct E-4 + are all considered NCO's basically they do the roles of what a civilian police Sgt. does, lower level day to day supervision
Great information and communication
Can you turn down a rank if you don't want it and a medal as well
you can turn down a promotion, usually what happens is the department will look for officers with career goals that include a promotion to LT or whatever.
Hiruma Ryuei why?
what if that person career goal is to in the position they are in and fully continent with there life and the medal thing thats just stupid get your ass chewed out because you just want to be humble as hell and not to showoff
That’s interesting. I’ve never seen stuff like private, staff sgt, or colonel. On my department in Tx, it goes officer, sgt, LT, deputy chief, assistant chief, and then chief. And the detectives are also the corporals. At my dads old department (Dallas) it was officer, senior corporal (FTO), sgt, LT, Major, deputy chief, assistant chief, executive assistant chief, and then chief. The rank of major is kind of a new one. The city has 7 sub stations so each one is overseen by a major.
What do you think of conservation officers?
Nicolas Wagler do you mean conSerVation officers? Like DNR or Game Warden?
Nicolas Wagler too much talk
I’m still laughing about spiking the squads water with C4
