I've always thought that there was a lot more to the friendship between Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn then what was included in the biography Coal Miner's Daughter in 1980. In 1976, Loretta Lynn released her first autobiography, she dedicated an entire chapter to Patsy Cline. Then in 1977 Loretta recorded a LP titled "I Remember Patsy," which was certified Gold by RIAA.
I loved how this movie showed a friendship good and bad. Anyone who has a true, important friendship with another knows there are times when you fight. Sometimes you may get into a knock out, drag out pissing contest with a best friend over whatever. Most of the time, however, very shortly you both come back with your tail between your legs, sorry and wanting to talk and get over it with a little talk and a big hug, because it's so much more important, and just move on to all that is good!

Jessie was terribly miscast...maybe as Barbara Streisand, but not in portraying the beautiful blue eyed Loretta Lynn.
