After my stroke this song played non stop in my head for weeks... Couldn't communicate but this song got me through. Thanks for sharing.
❤ Sam and Jr for my personal saviors any day
Wut
Wow. What a great story. That’s beautiful.
How is your recovery coming? Make a comeback?
It’s only a matter of time ‘til I get hit, too. Either that or Alzheimer’s .
I worked on the movie in the final mixing studio as a tape machine loader, and there is just something about this that is really great. And the music is fabulous, at the time I called it 'authentic'. It's a cult classic.
Thank you for saying that. Some movies just get lost in the mix somehow. It makes me happy to hear that you appreciated it.
Guessing you’re not doing gigs ‘on speck’ anymore. 🌞
Worked on Tapeheads as a PA..That's me with Director Bill Fishman at 24seconds in. Great bunch of people! John Cusack is a really authentic human being. Mike Nesmith a National Treasure, here and beyond..Let's get into some trouble baby!
So happy to hear about your fond memories. This movie holds a special place in my heart.
I firmly believe that this movie, Three O'Clock High, and Repo Man are the greatest movies made in the 80s.
Nit sure I've seen Three O'Clock High but I'd put Diva on this list.
OMG. I ADORE Three O’Clock High too. Used to watch that one over and over. Hilarious!
I have never seen Three O'Clock High, but I can 100% get behind Repo Man.
FACTS
Who's still loving this song in August 2020 ?
4 minutes of excellence. even the HORRIBLE dancing by robbins and cusack was on cue. also at 2:53, l.ook for the VERY first man to raise the roof.
After all these years, still one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
Great lost hit. As good as any, and in my opinion, #1 of the great musical film finales.
Better than Menudo? :)
THIS MOVIE IS ONE THE BEST.
THERE'S ONLY A HANDFUL OF MOVIES I CAN WATCH MORE THAN ONCE
Absolutely! Movie is under-rated. I’ve often daydreamed about having a conversation with Cusack and Robbins about it.
I love these guys.
I know exactly what you mean. I loved the movie and the music. I watched it so many times. I can even do the girls move perfectly! It is too bad that people just do not know ab out this movie!
I love this ending so much.
Those hit men got bit by the show biz bug!
Still loving this song on 2024!
Such an underrated movie...
Tapeheads had probably the best cinematic music numbers since The Blues Brothers.
This song, is like an anthem for me when things are tough. This and "Seeds" from the Springsteen live album --- "how many times can you get up after you've been hit" really sum it up.
Michael Nesmith produced???!! OMG. Super lost treasure. Plus Don Corneeeeeelius
Sam & Dave! This movie had it all!
One of the all time greatest cult movies. Never get tired of it.
saw both Sam Moore & Jr Walker at different shows; they always put on a great show! Jr Walker & the All Stars was a serious boogie down & Sam Moore voice like butter.
Love this song. Every time I'm bummed and need a lift I play this vid and have a reminiscing smile on my face. God bless.
Same
Never gets old
"WE LOVE THE SWANKY MODES!"
I loved how "The Hitmen" wound up really getting into it.
"Why do you want to put us in a music video? I'm old! He's ugly!"
They need to reissue this soundtrack.
Love the TAPEHEADS! RVTV forever!
Jr. Walker is gettin' DOWN!!!
i know, and his face,i played back like a hundred times now!!!
I have the soundtrack on cassette.
Fishbone is credited with the score for the movie, not sure if they did this one -- but the Roscoe Chicken rap sure sounds like it could've come from them.
Classic 80s cheese, so bad it's good.
Rock and Roll, Blues, and R&B Hall of fame inductee J.C. Billy Davis on the Telecaster!
Such a fun ending!
This is great! I remember the film well.
thanks nez.............
This is so cool!
Just recently saw it, 1st time ,fkn hilarious! On spec!
SWANKY MODES!!!
So good
1:47 full on Swanky Mode.
........some nice funk bass too!!!!!!!!!!
Could somebody please upload Dick Slammer & The Blender Children?!?
Love this film!!!!
The Modes
Better performance than Menudo's would have been.
この映画を見るたびに青空球児好児的なベテラン漫才師を連想してしまう
@anna2k2 There just showing there big fan boys of the Swanky Modes by dancing white. You got to give them credit, they did sign the alphabet backwards skipping all the vowels. :)
I'm Swankified
Remember when bands had awesome horn sections? I do. I listen to this while washing dishes. ruclips.net/p/PLa8LwddydzsUb5v75dCYx0_lNB9C6ukF-
Too bad Josh and Ivan were arrested afterwards for airing that Norman Mor fetish tape live on television and though acquitted of all charges had to serve time anyway for all those outstanding traffic warrants, spelling the end of Video Aces.
You never know. Their NEXT video might have been "Jailhouse Rock".
Just me, Some one should make a movie abut this,
I had this one video tape but got it to near to a Tape Head demagnetizer.
Fab-fab-fab
i hate to wait.
HAHAHA! HEARD THAT IN THIS MOVIE!!
the part when they were shooting the vid and the cia ass got fame was funny#
Cult status, funny movie
No. Sam & Junior. Dave was already dead at this point.
