Wild Things Tesla Drivers Do On Autopilot

- Опубликовано: 4 май 2024
- Since the Tesla autopilot hit the market, drivers have posted videos doing all sorts of things, except actually driving. Why not play games, eat snacks, or even take a nap when the car can drive itself? Over the years, Inside Edition has met with drivers who leave their feet out the window, or sit in the passenger seat while their Teslas were in autopilot. Our cameras showed one driver almost caught by the police for riding in the back when he should have been behind the wheel. #InsideEdition

@@fuxionxd4822 perhaps that's true but there's been 6 reported tesla autopilot fatalities reported on the news here so far all of which could have been avoided had they been awake to know something was wrong. It is pretty clear that some laws need to be updated. Last I heard the "auto pilot" mode requires you to be ready to take over driving.
Sitting in the back seat when the car crashes and causes a fatality should be a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
It should be a charge of reckless driving even if no crash happened.
On airliners the autopilot can do everything....but it is never trusted enough to not have a pilot always be ready to disengage and take over.
He definitely isn't able to go back to Coach, & take a nap while auto-pilot is engaged. 😂🤣
One of the most level headed thoughts on this concept.
Exactly, also they should introduce periodic testing. It's shocking how many long-term don't know or have forgotten certain rules.
Please understand
1. You can't sleep while the Tesla is on autopilot because it says to apply pressure every now and then on the steering wheel to know your there and if you don't then your Tesla will stop.
2. You cant use autopilot in without anyone in the driver seat.
The person that was in the passenger seat had the seat belt on for the driver seat so he had bypassed this security feature.
Yeah you don't have to be on as high as alert but you should still be paying attention even if it is on auto pilot.
This is the big reason why Tesla wants to record drivers when they're using autopilot. So it doesn't put others in danger just in case something goes wrong.
As they should. A lot of stupid people out there. 😂

Ok, the autopilot is cool and all but at least stay in the drivers seat in the event you need to take over as the autopilot might not be 100% accurate and you might be that 1 person who might crash or die.
