  • Here in Canada we're rolling towards the Victoria Day long weekend (a.k.a. May Long) and that means it is time to get ready for a summer of camping adventures and explorations.
In this video we show you our preparations for getting our 1978 Boler 1700 ready for its 47th year of fun. From hitching up in the storage lot to driveway repairs, there is always plenty to do before we head out on the road for the first time this summer.
As always, thanks for coming along for the ride!

Happy camping, Dan o Can...I too am trying to ready the 5th wheel for some trips. You are very thorough in your approach to Bella maintenance and explanations. V. G.

Sounds good! Rain or shine, it will be good to get back out there.

You DON'T need weight ditribution bars on a small trailer like that. 2500# single axle.. behind a 1/2 ton rated pickup.. The truck will barely know it's back there. The bars are needed for much heavier and dual axle trailers.

Funny, I thought I replied to this a few days ago. While not strictly necessary, I have found the Boler tows much nicer behind the truck when I put the bars in place versus just driving with it on the ball. Of course, the day I towed without the bars I also had no propane tanks on the tongue so I was a little light on the front end of the trailer which doesn't help.

@@DanOCan Every ounce counts.. and does make a difference no matter how little. They are adjustable by the links too.

Well I started watching your videos just about the time you bought Bella. I'm not saying you have anything to do with what I'm about to tell you..but ...it is a coinkydinky that I now own a 1976 Beachcomber B-15 that I named Freedom Freda😆🙋🛻🇨🇦❤️‼️Which Ive been living in at a free campspot for about 3 weeks. A very plain jane set up; running stove, fridge, furnace on propane, no battery so I'm using a small power station that came with 3lightbulbs and a solar panel, and I use my EB70 for charging my phone. I plan to fix this up and find another small trailer with a bathroom in it. Your trailer is in super shape compared to old Freda😂😮 but hopefully I can fix her up to be ship shape and who knows, maybe I will want to keep her by then. 😅

That is fantastic. There is something to be said about camping simply in a vintage trailer.

Watching one of your videos fathoming out a new wdh system made me laugh and cry , because for the last 2 days I’ve struggled with my new wdh for my Casita , and it included 2 trips to the hardware store and one to auto zone. I think I’m 98% done today. 😅

A tip on starting the anode rod put some foam into your socket so it pushes against the anode rod nut. Works great
