My German Shepherd Dog, Thor, does that too. They are being affectionate and playful. Since wolves and dogs don't have hands to hold yours they use their mouths. They lick as a greeting, recognition of your higher status in the pack and taste you to learn more about you.
Just as with scent these canines can tell if you are happy, and what you ate for the last couple of days.
I'm actually a proponent "Wolves are not pets" - page, but when I see the joy in the eyes of these two good Fellows will spray, then the heart goes on just me :) - thanks, that you have; shared this beautiful moment with us all 'D

I mean, one thing to hunt for "pleasure" or just you know, for fun. That is wrong in my book. But if you hunt to keep their numbers in reasonable scale, so they do not become a problem then sure, hunt away. But it needs to be regulated heavily and not just for wolves.
+stoffni And thats the oldest lie in the book of every hunter. A lot of species including wolves have a natural selection system that stops them from overpopulation. Thing is we disabled it with some species but others we hunt too much. So its completle out of balance. But that would take some hours too explain. To put it simple, wolves stop themselfs by building packs and defending lagre areas against other packs.

depends on the specieas like I said. Wolves are no harm. Boars well the realy overbreed, but thats because we made it easy for them. So there is no alle animals and if you read my post again you will see that there is a difference. Still humanity caused most of it, by will or just as a side effect.

Even the Gray wolf is no longer in the protection list.
Back in 2014, Gray wolfs started to attack livestock and also human conflict was documented.
44 Wolves were hunted to slow down the increase. All this happend in Michigan, US.
This is just one case, I told you in my last comment to just do one quick google search and you had countless of SCIENTIFIC evidence backing up hunters claims.
We're not talking about who is "causing" this.
I don't understand why you would make it into some kind of emotional debate on whos at fault.
You made the outragous claim that "wolves have natural selection so they dont overpopulate and become a problem" which is a pure lie and you know it.

I can never get over just how beautiful wolves are. the love and compassion these animals share and show each other and their companions. it's such a heart touching thing to see.
I absolutely love this...I had 2 wolves as pets while growing up...we played like this all the time......you have brought back so many wonderful memories of playing with my wolves in the forest........it was over 30 years ago.....I didn't realize what I had....I didn't take enough pictures....They were such a huge part of my life...they were the only friends I had....I used to howl with them....they were so important to me....I miss them.....

They remind me of my wolf lady, she was older when I got her, she was being used to breed fighting dogs. She wasn't well taken care of and she only lived a year after I took her in. She was beautiful and I miss her everyday.

They are magnificent. I was fortunate enough many years ago to get to pet one that was 90% arctic and 10% timber. She was very very fluffy. Met her and her owner and family at a native American gathering. (Essentially a massive pot luck with ceremonies. It was lovely.) There were a bunch of family kids hanging on her. She was so gorgeous. She turned around, I looked into the eyes, and someone was HOME. I said...that's a wolf! She got fed shrimp salad because she loved it.

Передвинусь сразу в 1970 год, хотя я могу рассказывать все по минутам и все интересное и забавное.
Мы с Джоем, с Ольгой и с моей мамой жили в московской трехкомнатной квартире,
в отпуск уезжали в разные места от заполярной Карелии до дельты Волги и от Белоруссии до Селигера и окрестностей Калязина.
Зимой у нас собиралось много друзей, особенно по праздникам.
Джоя все очень любили. Подруга жены очень боялась собак и они ее кусали, но
благодаря трехмесячному Джою за один вечер избавилась от страха и когда возвращалась домой они на нее даже не лаяли.
И вот тут перехожу к сути. Народ сидел за столом, Джой лежал на диване.
Среди гостей был и режиссер многосерийного детективного фильма " И это все о
нем " Анатолий Ермилов .
Смотрю он садится на диван, обнимает Джоя и рассказывает что-то грустное о своей
режиссерской жизни. Джой внимательно слушает и, видимо, в самые грустные моменты, лижет Толю в лицо. Праздники были длинные и каждый вечер Толя сидел
в обнимку с Джоем, Выпивал Толя рюмки две водки, не больше, так что был совершенно трезвый. В последний вечер, кода все расходились, я подошел к Толе и
спросил: " помогла тебе волчья терапия?" " Слушай, а ведь действительно помогла !
Я как-то не очень обращал внимание на это - ну сидели рядом разговаривали...
А сейчас ... в самом деле стал спокойней и уверенней. Волчья терапия..."
И дети тоже от годовалых до одиннадцати - двенадцати лет к нему подходят, разговаривают.
Тут подходит девочка на лыжах лет одиннадцати. Говорит: " А у меня тоже есть
собака, ее Гошкой зовут!" А у меня Гошка постоянный товарищ по отпускам.
Я спрашиваю:" Хочешь с Джоем на лыжах прокатиться? Тут лыжня метров 80 , ни
машин, ни людей. С Джоем можешь разговаривать как со мной он умный, все поймет!"
Я, откровенно говоря, Джою больше доверял в такой ситуации, чем себе, и реакция
у него раз в 50, если не в 100 выше,чем у меня!
Остался на месте, смотрю разгоняются плавно, но быстро. Разворачиваются, едут
обратно, только снежная метель! " Хочешь еще?" - " Хочу ,но мне домой пора!"
Джой не очень крупный 76 см в плечах, 50 кг веса. Ни капли жира, мускулатура,
скелет, шкура, волнистый тончайший подшерсток сантиметров 10-12, ость , пахнет
теплой чистой шерстью. Ест немного, аккуратно, миской не гремит, не вылизывает.
Веселый, с чувством юмора, пожалуй мягче моего, ласковый. Чему удивляться -
современный волк старше, чем Homo Sapiens, по словам палеонтологов на миллион
лет!

Guys, go visit her! Find a german friend and go to wilde-park. I was with them as a guest in 2011 and 2016. Now these whities are in heaven but there are more and the experience is adorable: very smart and cheeky creatures she raises.
Go, you won't regret that. I flew to Hamburg and housed in Lüneburg on the night before the planned meeting with Lady Askani, the second time we drove from Zurich...
Go go go, it is a rare opportunity the way she organises the visit.
Only thing... No children allowed in the wolfy area, but they can watch and then enjoy the zoo.
Can I recommend to go one more time?? Gooooo

WOW, Thank you for posting. Such beautiful creatures. How could anybody hunt them. It should be a WORLD LAW against hunting them or any animal unless it is for survival for those that live in the wild, but limited to the game of abundance, Like deer or elk, but certainly not wolves or bears.

My lord those are magnificent animals. I would give a great deal to be able to befriend and care for them. I wish they were suitable for pets but then they might not be wolves. Someday I will meet some, but white ones like that? Just a beautiful video. Thank you
Познакомился с волком - переярком (полутора лет) в начале июня 1967 года.
Я угостил его стаканчиком мороженого потихоньку мы с ним разговорились, шутили -
у него была очень выразительные и морда и телодвижения.
Рядом стояли зрители - два папы, две мамы, девочка лет одиннадцати и мальчики
лет шести и восьми, ели мороженое.
Вначале они смотрели на волка, который грыз прутья решетки со страхом - дескать
вот хищник, у самого в клетке килограммов 7 мяса, а ему человечины захотелось!
Но, когда я купил мороженое, надел на ветку и сказал волку, чтобы он сел спокойно
и тот послушался, надомной стали отцы подшучивать - ты его пивом угости!
волк оказался, хоть и молодым, да умным! Все рассчитал наперед - улегся у самой
решетки со стороны зрителей и стал не торопясь смаковать мороженое.
Я с ним беседую, спрашиваю, оставит ли он старшему волку , который лежал за
большим бассейном с проточной водой спиной к зрителям.
Молодой волк оглянулся на старшего, потом на меня с выражением как у младшего
брата, которому предложили угостить старшего. А он его не любит!!!
Я ему подыграл - он ведь четко рассчитал, что никакой мужик, глядя, как другой
кормит волка мороженым, тоже не удержится!
Конечно, вначале один отец отобрал у меня ветку и сжав стаканчик, протянул его
волку. Потом другой, Я не стал возражать - волк явно уже ел мороженое и лактоза
ему не повредила, А что до сахара, то мороженое в летнюю пору было совсем не
сладким и воды было, как я говорил, большой проточный бассейн - пей - не хочу!
Я порадовался и за детей и за взрослых - дети расскажут в школе, в детском саду,
и просто во дворе и вообще, где только можно, с гордостью, как их отцы кормили
волка мороженым и что волк, что ему ни говорят - все понимает!
Ну и мамы тоже, конечно, расскажут о подвигах их мужей!
И только я про себя с грустью подумал, что завести, да еще выбрать волчонка - это
за горизонтом событий! Да и вероятно настолько же, насколько, что вот вдруг мне
предложат принять должность капитана яхты класса" Дракон " и с женским для полной невероятности, экипажем!

Good, that's what I thought. You would be surprised at how many people think otherwise and yet they couldn't even handle a Siberian Husky. This is why many Huskies end up in shelters because people don't do their homework when adopting them and then realize they can't care for them. If you are going to get one check with a local Siberian rescue organization. I rescued both of mine and it has worked out well. One of them has some issues but they're both have lower energy and are great dogs

Two of my most favorite things.
People say mankind cause nothing but destruction and chaos everywhere we touch, some even prove that we twisted mother nature of her wonders.
Now that is not true. We didn't twist it...we tame it.
Her wonders were based on people's fear of the unknown but by taming it we can show the true wonder and beauty behind it all.
Which is the reason why we are now watching the beauty of this majesty wolves.
