Not a bad list for foreigners. For people with a tighter budget, you'll need to forget about being too close to the sea. Portugal still has a lot to offer inland...
Generally there are not too many apartments for sale here but you can get houses smaller the ones I have shown for under 200K Euros which is good value when you consider you are not too far from the sea.

I’m curious, because with the exception of third world countries, family sizes around the world are shrinking who’s buying theses large homes and what’s the resale market?
Good question. There are families that I have spoken to that have moved to Portugal. Also you get some older couples moving out that like to have a couples of spare bedrooms for visits from friends and family.
Giorgio, who or what is driving real estate in Portugal to ridiculous levels? There can't be that many US or UK buyers causing spikes...and five, six years ago there were still some great coastal deals.
Mike incentives schemes for buying property like the Golden Visa plus the retirement visa have caused real estate prices to rise. It is not just US/UK citizens that have taken advanatge of these schemes but other nationalities e.g. Chinese.
