I landed in Bangkok on Monday and I have been here for six days now. I have gone on a date with one Thai girl. I also went to the Philippines in the past year ago and I have found that your comparisons between the Thai and Filipina women is 100% accurate. I will be hopping on a plane tomorrow to the Philippines. I have seen enough of Thailand.

Very good observation and helpful tips Tom. Like you say there are good/bad people in both PI and Thailand, but in PI the language/communication is easier as they speak English just about every. I would never speak bad about girls from either country, but I have a great deal more experience with Filipinas having been married to one18 years this year. We have a daughter 14 years old, and our relationship is still going on strong. A Filipina girl will not just walk away when things get tough, (like if you have a cultural difference of opinion on a subject). So since the subject is who should you "marry" I can only say that if you choose a Filipina you will be happy with your choice.

Both countries for me very easy to meet attract young women. I never go to where expats are. Women are lovely in both. Filipinas are easier to meet and be all in for relationships, in general. Thai relationships are clearly more transactional. It’s always spoken what they want in terms of materialism. The Filipinas that I met it was never discussed. Cambodian women are more like Filipinas. Filipinas are better mates. They fight for relationships.
Find wife educated Filipina, God Fearing, Family oriented, responsible and serious. Most Filipina girl is more really serious and good in relationship.

I think Thai and Filipino women have similar traits. Both can have those who are independent, likes to go out with friends and party and drink or just a homebody. So in that case you can actually pick any woman with the personality that you prefer. But the biggest difference I can aay is the communication line. If it's okay with you to have a hard time communicating with your partner then you can go with a Thai. Also, Filipina women are more loyal (mostly) because we are family oriented. So if you want a life-long realtionship without any language barrier, then a Filipina would be better. 👍

Marriage means that a couple must journey to live together and grow together to become what God intends them to be. A successful marriage is when you allow God to be in your journey too. Allow Him to be part of your venture in life. When I'm in the mood for a carefree and enjoyable time without any serious commitments, I choose Thailand. On the other hand, when I'm ready to settle down and commit to a meaningful relationship with one woman, I find myself drawn back to the Philippines.

Married to Cebuana (Filipina from Cebu) 25 years now. Visited Philippines at least once a year for four or more weeks but never lived in Philippines full time. I find what Tom shared to be spot on.

Looks are just a preference ..I think Toms experience would be different if he gave the vibe he’s serious..if that’s what he’s looking for. Choose thai if you dont want to spend your retirement money supporting your filipominas family. The average salary is double in thailand yet cost of living is almost equal. Also better livelihood in thailand overall and cleaner in bkk over manila. Filipinas are sweet though if u can find them under age 23 and not a single mom or obsessed with marriage.

The thing is, you just do what works for you. I'm glad I met a man who has the same values and thinking as me, and I am a filipino. My husband and I are both family oriented, love movies, board games, and tv series, walks, and stay at home with our kid who's fortunately like us as well. At the end of the day, no matter what country your partner is from, it is important that you have the same values and outlook in life.

I have had a Thai girlfriend and a Filipina girlfriend. Both for more than 2 years at different times of my life. The Thai girl was very work oriented. She was trying to grow a business. Beautiful girl but I didn't fit into her lifestyle.
The Filipina was too laid back. I thought lazy was a better word. She was definitely clingy. Family was very important to her.

Everyone says the Philippines is family oriented, but where are all the Filipino dads in these families?? They take off. And there are lots of Filipino siblings and each has a different biological dad, or an unknown dad. Yeah the family is strong there in PH. But it’s the woman family members in survival mode taking care of each other after being abandoned by Filipino men.
Like saying that the Philippines is a dangerous country. Some haven’t been to PH but are exposed to foreign media biased news. These expats hear tales only of Filipina girls who are usually very liberated school dropouts bar girls and blame boyfriends for their failed relationships. Typical desperate moves a way to convince for expats’ empathy and attention. Unless an expat dig himself to the culture, that perception for him will be real.

Keep in mind dowry is still common in Thailand before your wedding day, it is a traditional practice that the groom have to pay or give money to the brides parents and it's like you're buying thier child to marry.. Good luck

I'll admit that I am a grumpy old man. Some guys enjoy children but I have no patience for them. I had two serious relationships with two Thai women. Both had kids and I was too selfish to put up with put up with their children. Both relationships failed. I also had no luck with the young beauties that I was greatly attracted to. I finally found an attractive woman who called her self an old maid at age 35. She had never been married and had no children. She told me that no Thai man would ever marry her because she had a mind of her own. Since I would never marry a jealous immature young woman that suited me. I finally talked her into going out with me and after 23 years of marriage we are still together.
I had very limited experience with Philopena women. I had to make a choice between the Philippines and Thailand where to retire. That was fairly easy for me because the Thailand infrastructure is generations ahead, that and I wasn't comfortable with natural disasters in the Philippines. While I lived in Southern California, a good place to go for Philopena women was San Diego when the fleet was out. The Philopena women were beautiful and liked to have a good time when their navy husbands were out to sea. That left me with a bad opinion of the women.

It's going to come down to your personality and preference. Most Western men, especially from the USA, will do better with a filipina. Especially if they are older and stuck in their own ways. Someone mentioned Laos. That can be difficult as their dating culture is different from what most people are used to in the West. Seems to be way more traditional. I personally would prefer Cambodia for a variety of reasons. They seem to be very feminine in a ladylike way. Where as the Philippines the women will have more of a childish demeanor.

@JeanAriesM Since Filipinos tend to live together in large groups, it makes sense to some degree to use Tampo. It would be too much if multiple ppl are arguing/fighting in one confined space. I was more referring to the fact that they tend to have a simpler nature and can be naive to many things due to lack of exposure. which, in many ways, can be endearing. Filipinas will get excited for things that Western women take for granted. It makes them seem happier and more appreciative. Simplicity contains more beauty than complexity. However, I have seen quite a few western vloggers get annoyed at filipinas simplicity. They said they feel like they have to be their teacher, and that becomes frustrating to them. Those vloggers are usually older men. I was pointing it out so those older men can have an idea of what they are getting into. Personally, I like filipinas' happy and simple demeanor. They often times are funny as well. Many times, they can make you laugh, and they aren't even aware that they said or did something humorous.
