Hey guys, those diesel heaters are only to be mounted exhaust down! I use one in my bus daily, Also, that is currently your house. I would mount that diesel heater more properly. It would suck to have that exhaust catch the inside of your camper on fire, also the way its mounted can expell exhaust gasses into your clean air intake. No bueno. Just a thought, living ROCkS ! Love the videos!

They seem to be really well made. It’s our first truck camper so we can’t compare to other brands. We have no real complaints with this though.

The metal is cheap floor-scraps... whatever they had laying around.
It has very little fatigue resistance (pretty important in a bouncy vehicle).
Its weight rating is very limited.
For today's application, it should work until you get a round toit.
It’s def not a permanent solution , but sure makes tonight warmer .

Another great video guys. Hope you get the diesel heater issue sorted out. That was a pretty fun fact on Mount Lam lam on Guam. At a peak of 1,332 ft to the top and another 36,070 ft to the bottom of the Marianas Trench, I’d also say that is probably the highest peak in the U.S. and probably the world. I was born and raised on Guam and lived there until the age of 17 when I joined the Army in 1976. I hiked Mt Lam Lam every weekend to get wild yam, mangoes, and beetle for my grandmother. Anyway, keep up the good work and keep living the dream.
Did you get to see the rock formations they filmed Tremors on? Your campsite was not too far away! If you didn’t happen to catch it on your trip, the Museum of Western Film History has a great exhibit with a graboid on display (and other cool stuff). So excited for y’all. Refrigeration is an amazing creation, we have spent the last year without it in our cabin with no power and 3 kids and now that we have it finally hooked up the kids definitely won’t take it for granted again lol. They did however help get very creative with meals haha it’s been fun.
Definitely blocks of wood, zip ties, screws, duct tape, bottle jack, and never forget RYOBI.
Refrigeration is something we definitely took for granted and really appreciate now as well! It’s a little easier for us with no kids but still very nice to have. Necessity really does spark creativity.

An amo can measured properly, "as close to the base as possible" sounds like a great idea!
When you do your permanent fix with the diesel heater put heat shield type material in the bottom of that cabinet . I used it in the doghouse engine cover in my old RV . Cut heat down considerably . Exhaust wrap tape on that exhaust pipe will solve heat problems there . Amazon has both products , not expensive . Good plan to always carry enough odds and ends for self rescue , I always carry such things . Add a roll of thin old fashioned wire to your kit . It has endless uses . Enjoy watching your adventures and the places you find to camp . I like to be off grid as well . Out of curiousity what mileage do you get with the camper on that pickup ?

@@CandEAdventures we use to use a Dickinson marine heater in our Scout and cargo trailer conversion. Love those little heaters. The flame reminded us of home and our woodstove.

You guys might want to put a piece of metal or some other insulating material under the exhaust pipe just in case that heater should move and touch . That fridge/freezer/ice machine is really proving it's worth out there, and I'm very happy to see you eating a much better grade of "Hot Brown"!!! Someone recommended affixing your diesel heater properly and more securely and I 100% concur, going to sleep and never waking up does not sound like a great plan!!
