    For me, that is a lot more usable tool on the road than a litre sports bike, A2 like power to 9000 but always with that crazy top end when you want.

    I still ride the 2003 model. It's honestly the most beautiful bike I've ever seen. I hate how narrow motorcycles have become. They are more like mosquitoes rather than "monsters" nowadays. The power is there but the "respect" in the looks is kind of missing.

    Great review and beautiful bike. I reckon the flat spot 3k to 6k revs is euro emissions. My cb1000r neo had the same problem. Remapped it and problem solved. Up to 20bhp at 25% 50% and 75% between that rev range. Power much more linear.

    Love your impartial reviews, but a subjective question for you, which I've also asked the other UK reviewers. Would you rather save the money and get an 07 bike, fettle with it and save the money on a second bike? Nothing a suspension and chassis refresh can't sort out. I think there's a bit of a nostalgic bias to modern screamers when back in 06, the arms race was clearly and evidently led by the 600s (otherwise, we wouldn't have had comparitively boring 1000cc's as part of their 06 refresh - tell me the K7 Gixxer is better than the K5 or the cuddly ZX10R-D was better than the ZX10R-C). Will a Euro 5 bike be as good as its generational predecessors. I'm guessing Honda has the benefit of experience running these engines in its Moto2 guise, albeit castrated with emissions gubbins. Thoughts?

    You were saying that you couldn’t find the fuel gauge on the CBR660RR you’re not the only one that has had that problem a tester on MCN motor bike Channel could not find but they did find out that the petrol tank goes empty when the range still shows 30 miles left in the tank so it’s a problem with the bike again what you’re saying about the exhaust being quite warm that’s because it’s not a full fitted exhaust it’s exactly the same from the previous bike

    I wish Honda would give us premium bikes like this that are more road focused. If you compare this engine with the CBR650R engine, the 650 makes more power everywhere until you get over like 11,000rpm. But the CBR600RR looks and sounds so much more premium.

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  Месяц назад

      But it is more premium. Look at the price difference. Or do you mean you'd like a CBR650R SP? With better suspension and brakes?

    • @The.JZA.
      @The.JZA. Месяц назад

      @ Exactly. A CB650R SP/CBR650R SP but I mean that’s not all. All Honda these days have steel frames etc except for the fancy expensive ones meanwhile companies like Aprilia make even their cheapest bikes with premium alloy twin spar frames. So I kinda wish Honda would make more premium bikes that are road focused because it seems like all of their premium bikes are either super sports, adventure bikes or the gullwing.

    Is nice that it has an accessible seat height, my Yamaha XSR900 GP is really tall, as are most of the other Yam sportsbikes. Am all for the tech and wheelie control, TC, ABS etc, so it was good you mentioned that stuff. Is it easy to switch it all off though, and does it stay off when you turn off the key etc and come back to the bike the next day/after stalling etc, or does it reset to being on again each time you restart? Exhaust sounds great in the vid, is this all from the in helmet audio or do you run a second mic to pic up the bike sounds?
    I do like that it has a proper rear end, not a fan of the trend for no bum on bikes these days.

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  Месяц назад +1

      Not sure about the switching off thing, forgot to check that. Honda's recent MO is a bit hit and miss with this. The Hornet I had would turn TCS back on every restart, so we can assume this would be the same perhaps. All helmet audio, using the DJI mic 2.

    I think more open roads, on a warmer day would give a better review. I think it’s adds to the credibility of the review if you can see the reviewer pushing the bike / riding it for what’s it’s designed to do. The video doesn’t show the bike above about 8k revs and a lot of the roads look like B roads rather than faster sweeping roads which is what most people will enjoy riding it on. I’ve just found a lot do the UK RUclips reviews haven’t given the bike a good going over and is just a video of someone riding it round like a GS rather than ragging it and showing its capability

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  Месяц назад

      There's good reason why you won't see UK people riding this bike quickly. Doing so would attract the attention of the authorities. I will not risk losing my license for a RUclips video, you would not believe how many people have submitted my videos as evidence to the police. However, what I do off camera is another matter. :)

      Well, useless is a strong word. It just needs you to adjust expectations. If you expect a 600cc bike to ride like a litre, that's not the bikes fault. :)

      @@Englishbikerdan hehe, possibly but the CBR doesn't strike me a girl's bike, it's definitely a guy bike. Unless of course, the gal is 6' tall and doesn't mind taking a pounding. Not sure how the royalty hierarchy works (no one hates the damned royal family more than me) but I'm sure somewhere in there is a place for the CBR. Don't take me wrong, I like the bike a lot. It's just a stretch to suggest it's a better bike than the GSXR.

    I'm not convinced that the R9 competes with this bike....is more or less a street bike that Yamaha converted into a supersport. It's engine displacement is more than 50% greater than the Honda or Kawasaki, putting it in a different class.

    • @Englishbikerdan

      The fact the the R9 will compete in the FIM Supersport Championship tells me this bike is aimed squarely at that market segment.

      @@rwalton159 I suppose he expected a lots of mid range torque, in that case its not bike for you. zx-6 is better pick for street, bigger displacement has better mid-range and very short gearing makes it more explosive, however for track use, top end power any day

      I think it being a throwback to the original bike is a positive thing. You just don't get bikes like that very often.
