This is a very useful lesson to me as I have found myself actually relying too much on landing on chord tones after having sort of progressed to the chordal concept (coming, as a predominantly rock player, from a more scales oriented approach). The approach presented here seems to offer a way to much less predictable and more interesting melodic lines. Thanks a lot!
