Boom here it is, the one video you need to learn how to play outside. Damn thanks!
You said it
I agree !! However, "playing out" usually refers to play outside the key.
The theoretical tool in this video would be better described as superimposition.
This is just an arbitrary use of language but I figured it's worth adding.
NO. 1 guitar lesson video in this year.
The tortoise with a cig in his 100 year old mouth was…..amazing.
I’m going to patreon now-take my money!
The visual techniques with the fire and facial gestures are actually very very clever and useful in illustrating the tension / release. Awesome video and got my sub
Great video! My favorite part was him speaking and teaching with the simplicity and wholesomeness of Mr. Rogers and then saying “This is some out 💩 so buckle up”. 😂
The nicest thing is that Mr. Marbin plays straight 8th notes over changing modes. Not so easy!!!!
really like the visual effects !! neat concept!
This is wonderful and beautifully explained! I also had a good laugh over the visuals (though I did spit my coffee on my keyboard). Cheers!
This touches on so many jazz links it blows my mind how simple and clearly you explained it without shredding super fast that it seems impossible to grasp like so many other teachers do without regard to their audience
Thank you.❤
Great video! The idea with the V to I of the upper structure triads is great. Cant believe i didn t fogure that one out so far...
the skills, the humour, the content, it's all on point. Best guitar channel on youtube.
Great video. The DMV picture works so well in context
Amazing video!
Broken down into easily digestible pieces and well explained.
It sounds like Metheny uses some of these concepts on the album 'We Live Here'.
Dude, awesome. Thanks. This is extremely helpful.
Nice Jazz face!!! Great stuff as always. May your root always be augmented!!!
Clear concise and super useful. God bless you sir
Brilliantly explained. Fantastic stuff 👏
That’s was cute, the scary monsters during dark vibes. 😂
Lovely! Nice work.
Great lesson Dani!
Woah, so glad I stumbled on this lesson. Incredible! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Excellent lesson! Thank you!
I don't really know what to call this video... Great? Awesome? Amazing? Spectacular? Marvelous? Dang! Fantastic video man! Loved it. Very clearly explained and systematic. I subscribed and will recommend. I am an advanced harmony teacher and loved your approach. I also laughed very loudly watching the video edits where the background is stressful for the tension chords and relaxing for the resolution chords, as I use the same concept when explaining to my students. Have a great day, you good sir.
You explain this so well
So good!!! Thank you!!!
That was very interesting, and amusing. Thanks!
Really good, thank you!!
Great teaching....thanks man
thank you, thank you
you are a great teacher !
Damn. Dorian. Thank you!!!
Sick lesson✊
More pearls of wisdom.
I'm still working on your outside Scott Henderson stuff over dominants.
Wicked content. Thankyou so much. 👏
Loving the harmonic theory teaching and great examples. Great fun music learning. What you're giving is gold. Harmonic minor is such worthy study. Maestro, are you trying to trick me with all the wizzbang graphics?
Thanks a lot master!
Wow. Nice one señor Dani
Despite I knew this concept in theory, I' m impressed how clear and logical it's presented here. And the best, it sounds musical right from the start on. Thank you for that new roadmap. Good work here!
Very Martino! Nice lesson
amazing breakdowns! If only every youtube guitar lesson was this perfect
thank you so much, sir
very clever and clear lesson
like your fusion style a lot
Great vid!!!
You always sound great
Greatest video ever! So informative so funny! Thanks
Awesome. Greetings fro Poland
Great lesson and fun video, gracias profesor, saludos!
Man that WAS WILD! You weren't kidding!
Bro… I was already like damn, but then when you dropped that BOMB at 4:03 my jaw hit the floor
Man great video. I have really good fretboard knowledge and technique but this was like instant "sound jazzier" in a way I've never been able to access. Another way to think of it would be to play altered scales/dominant ideas on the 5, b7, 2nd, and 4th of the tonic, resolving each to the diatonic 7th chord a 5th below in the tonic Dorian.
Ive always reallllly dug subbing dorian for melodic minor too! I feel like it's so hard to normalize that sound but that does a pretty good of it!
whaaaaaa your so funny butt above all super educational. thanks greetz from holland. thanks alot
where to find such beautiful backing track :/ thank ypu for this lesson Dani
Love this! Where did the drums come from? Super tasty. Great for comping ideas too. I know what I’m doing today…
Not to brag, but after watching this, I can speak and read Esperanto. 🤘🏼😵💫
Bello/Magnifico.💪✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️
❤
Tasty!
lol fending off the dark spirits
Thank you! Which superimpositions would you play over G mixolydian?
very interesting, Can you use the same concept for other chords (modes) too?
Yes you can!
ha yeah my first thought was do this same thing but for major keys so start with the lydian mode of C for example but don't do chords with C
Sweet mother of duck
Hahahahahaha
🤣🤣🤣
This fretboard looks so dirty :(
You don’t have to eat it
Get rid of your grandfathers La-Z-Boy that you're sitting in and it would look a lot better.

Man, i'm lost ! But shure it's one of the greatest knowledge of actual music ! Feel your tones !
