- Despite playing and teaching gypsy jazz for years, I was lacking the right sound for my comping, chord soloing, and tremolo. Here's the solution I found.

Brilliant, I knew there was something I was missing on my pompe and no one said it,I checked nousche rosenberg playing la pompe and he does too that movement with the wrist.
Thank you.
Great video editing
Thanks a million!!!
Great job upgrading your content guys. This is so fun.
Top Tip! Can’t wait to start implementing this.
Thanks Dani - as always - very generous !
thanks, very cool video!!!!
😮nicely done
Freaking great!
That is some serious editing
So it’s not really pickslanting. It’s strokeslanting. Now we’re waiting for the Dani Rabin No Capo Eric Clapton Gypsy Strokeslanting lesson pak. Lol. Keep the good stuff coming Dani.
1.04 i thought it was my phone😆
gypsy sounds like Euro-Circus fun
great breakdown and nuance... thank you.
La Pompe is in the eye ( and the hand ) of the beholder ( or the pick holder )

Rather than using an upward slant, as you state, it appears to me that you are starting each downstroke with a downward slant and finishing the downstroke with a upward slant. Is that a more accurate description?
Yes
@@marbinmusic
Thanks for the clarification. I will check which slant I have been instinctively using. These “little” things can sometimes have outsized importance in the composite.
@@marbinmusicI have given it a try. The results are interesting. I agree with the benefits that you mention in the video. In addition I noticed that this method requires, or maybe forces, a more relaxed wrist swing. That is a big plus to me. Have you noticed this too?
Also it seems to also be forcing me to use a floating wrist rather than one that anchors the wrist by touching fingers to the soundboard. Have you noticed this?
@@danielsheltraw8773 yes and yes
1:28 Why are you Bill Burr's backup band?
Is that Billy Corgan?
Yes.
Yeah, Dani backed him up not long ago…
Epic.
No im not playing it wrong i learned it from Jimmy Rosenberg himself
Oh, sorry
nope
Yup
