    Class accent, you must be fae the east 🙈 love Scotland, the only country where "oil" rhymes with "jail" rhymes with "Kyle" 😂 gonna try this on the Touran the morra...got me wondering how you got a diesel golf sounding like that?

    Some delete the EGR then drill a hole in the blanking plate, tap it and close it with a bolt. that gives esy regular access to the turbo exhaust housing from the top with Mr Muscle. Squirt it in using some silicon vaccuum hose zip tied to end of WD40 attachment

    Nice little video mate. Hoping to do this and solve an issue on my GT170. Like the little bonus clip too;)

    Finally a video on how to do this.. like you said - no other vids on this. I've got the same golf, BKD with 185k miles and still going strong. Luckily no issues with turbo that I can see. Does yours ever whistle slightly when you start it up from cold? Not a loud whistle just vaguely hear it. Once the engine is at temperature warm it goes away. Guessing it's due to thicker oil when it's cold. I may consider a grade of oil that's better for cold starts, especially in the UK.. lol

      Yes mine whistles, I'm pretty sure most pd engines do.. especially If you have a straight pipe! Lol. Glad the video is of some use! Not sure what to do next!

      @@jakmackie556 Good to know. I always give it a few seconds idle to let the oil get around the turbo before driving and also when parking up I sit for around a minute before shutting down to allow the oil to keep circulating while the turbo slows down. Did you have any trouble with your turbo after cleaning it? I've heard Mr Muscle is good.

      @@matthewellis9885 same here! I can't stand it when people just get in and drive like they stole it 😂 The turbo worked well for a couple of days, but its blocked again! I think it may be the actuator, it seems pretty stiff! or its just time for a new turbo! It has been remapped so everything is at its limit just now!

      @@jakmackie556 How many miles was yours on when you mapped it?

    • @jakmackie556
      @jakmackie556  2 года назад

      @@matthewellis9885 previous owner mapped it, I'd say between 80-100k miles! Then I mapped it again at 135k miles.. now sits at around 147k miles. BKD engines are solid, make decent power safely with the right supporting mods

      Thanks Ewan, you can gain good access to manifold after removing o/s drive shaft and cat. I'd suggest using a lot of heat on the exhaust manifold bolts as they like to snap. Hopefully you got in OK?

    I had same issue, gave it to mechanic along with Mr Muscle don’t know if he even tried it but he returned it and said it didn’t work. Sold the car in the end though still got good pandemic market money for the golf. Wish i had done it myself. Did it work long or you buy a new turbo?

      Hi! Yes it has worked for about a year, getting the same problem again so thinking of stripping the turbo and giving it a proper clean!

    Hi mate, I’ve got a seat leon 2.0tdi with a bkd engine and it’s making a whistle sound. Could it be the same problem as this? If you get a chance can you check video on my profile and give me some advice. Thank you
