    Summary:
    -Low ISO: ~200
    -Wide Aperture: F3.5 to 5.6
    -Shutter Speed: If Sunny/Bright-> Faster; If Indoor-> Slower

      How do you get your aperture down to F 3.5? My Canon T 5i only goes down to F5.0

      @@ChooChooRosenbloom It is lense dependent, you need a different lense.

      @@ChooChooRosenbloom It depends on the capability of the LENS, not the camera. If you want to to a lower aperture (like something smaller than a F/5.0, you will need to buy a different lens that allows that setting. My experience is the lenses with the ability to have smaller apertures are more expensive.

      @@ChooChooRosenbloom if you pick up a Canon “nifty 50” or 50 mm prime lens for portraits, you can get one that opens to 1.8 for around $125!

    Very useful little video. No complicated jargon and everything explained in simple, easy to understand language. I treated myself to a Canon EOS 2000D for my 60th birthday and haven't had many opportunities to go out and play around with it.     Just starting a BFA degree - Day 1 of classes for me, and my first photography class tells me to go learn about these things (changing ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed). I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7, and this video worked perfectly for me. Thank you for creating it!

    I took film photography classes in highschool way back in the early 2000s just when film was becoming obsolete. I'm using a manual digital camera (EOS Rebel T6) for the first time this week on a trip to the UK. I was confounded by the controls, and the manual that came with the camera wasn't helping me. Thank you so much for this crash course. Very concise and easy to understand. You've helped me a great deal.

    I had to come back to this video as I forgot how to adjust the aperture setting in M mode.
    Your full tutorial is the only one I needed too. Just got an old used Canon D400, has the STM 50mm lens. Great for a newb like me.

      Obviously I don't know what lens you already have, so I'm going to recommend looking at the CANON EF-S 18-200MM IS because of it's great focal range.

    So I noticed on the auto mode on my EOS Rebel T6i, it can take a photo with an ISO at 4000. But how can that be, I cant find a way anywhere in any of the settings to get the ISO at 4000. The only ISO settings available are in preset increments. Any idea how I would go about setting my ISO to 4000?

      An interesting question and one I'm afraid I cannot answer for you. I don't have a T6i but you could try going to the menu > Custom functions > Exposure level increments.

    I'm new to photography, I just bought the Canon T7 Rebel. I know nothing about photography. I very much like the way that this video explains things simply in a manner that even I can understand! I live on a farm so most of my photography is landscape, ponds, cotton fields, livestock etc. But on occasion I like take photos of the sky at night., I haven't mastered that yet. :-( but working on it.     Dear Paul. I know absolutely NOTHING about cameras. I bought a Canon EOS 30D on ebay and when it arrived, it might as well have been a part off an alien spaceship! I had NO idea how to use it and the terminology was like an alien's language. However, since finding your videos, I can not be more grateful as I am now beginning to understand how it works.     Just bought my first "adult digital". Been a 35mm guy for 30 years. Amazing what techniques cross over from film to digital.

    Oh thank you thank you thank you. I am a NEWBIE with a canon t6i and this is so helpful. My partner in crime is skilled with a camera, but I am just learning and this was so helpful!!!!!

    I love the way you explain how to adjust the shutter speed, aperture and ISO. This video really helps me. I really want to learn more about photography, but I don't have my own DSLR Camera, I just borrowed the camera of my friend just to take a picture and captured some event. I hope you help me to make my dreams in photography come true and to have my own DSLR Camera.

    OMG you are great at explaining how to use the camera by a beginner. The best way is to Actually Show us, while explaining what each part is. I watched a couple of videos, the definitions were good, but the demonstrations were poor or not shown at all. Thank you Thank you!!!
