I love your way of explaining and communicating. You are the first channel that explained it to me in a way i could understand but still giving me enough room to explore myself. Keep up the good work!
I am 64 years old and recently got bitten by the photography bug after a friend gifted me his old Canon T5. This video is so informative. I knew nothing about any of this. Now I will start tinkering. Thank you.
Very useful little video. No complicated jargon and everything explained in simple, easy to understand language. I treated myself to a Canon EOS 2000D for my 60th birthday and haven't had many opportunities to go out and play around with it. Thanks to this video, I now know how to make the necessary adjustments, and why. Thanks for putting up this video, and I am more than happy to subcribe.
I cannot thank you enough for this free invaluable information. I am a senior trying to figure out this Rebel T6 and I bought a 90mm macro lens too. Just knowing the basics is a huge help in trying to take pictures of jewelry for Ebay sales. Thanks so much for your time. Greatly appreciated and easy to understand.
Best video on RUclips. From your video I got to know that it was so easy, otherwise see the other RUclips videos. 20 mins of muttering on this topic and in the end you would even forget why you came and what you were actually looking for. This video will be my reference video forever. Thank you mate!
You, sir, are a legend. So simple but comprehensive explanation! Most other tutors on YT expect people to already know about the subject matter and use a lot of jargons and technical terms. Thank you for thinking from a learner's viewpoint.
This is the most helpful video. I almost gave up on my new Canon and just treated it like an ordinary camera. Thanks for the clear and useful explanation on Shutter Speed, Apeture, and ISO. I'm gonna watch your other videos and learn more.
I must say that this is the clearest and articulate example of how to adjust the shutter, aperture and, ISO that I've seen. I was baffled by each until I saw this example. Thank you for breaking it down and communicating and clarifying in simplistic language how to do this.
I'd given up on learning how to use a camera and photography until I found your videos. I've watched so many others trying to explain these points but your clear communicating makes it easy to understand. Thank you so much!
You are the BEST. I purchased a CANON T7 yesterday and off the bat wanted to use manually. You "killed" the tutoring for me. YOu made it easy as 1+ 1. I have subscribed to your channel.
I have been wandering around like a blind man until I found your video. I have subscibed and look foreward to watching and learning more from your videos. Thank you very much.
Just starting a BFA degree - Day 1 of classes for me, and my first photography class tells me to go learn about these things (changing ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed). I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7, and this video worked perfectly for me. Thank you for creating it!
I have seen many videos in the past few days but those never worked for me. you just explained everything I needed in the simplest way. the best explanation.
Fantastic - once you have your head around Aperture, shutter and ISO you will discover a whole new world of creative way of shooting ahead. Thanks for watching my videos. Paul @ Photo Genius
I took film photography classes in highschool way back in the early 2000s just when film was becoming obsolete. I'm using a manual digital camera (EOS Rebel T6) for the first time this week on a trip to the UK. I was confounded by the controls, and the manual that came with the camera wasn't helping me. Thank you so much for this crash course. Very concise and easy to understand. You've helped me a great deal.
This is a perfect tutorial! I'm going to Iceland in one month and although I have nice camera equipment, I'm not sure how to use it best. Live Jacob said, you are the consummate communicator! Great video. I subscribed and will watch more!
I have a canon 4000d camera but I had very little information about how to go about it. You are the first to make me fully understand camera setups. You are the best...one in a million. Thank doing much.
C V You are welcome, I get greT satisfaction from helping others learn how to take better photos. Please consider subscribing, lots more videos coming soon.
His videos are the best. He does a great job explaining the camera, providing tips, and talking slow enough to understand and follow along on your own camera. Great Job!
I had to come back to this video as I forgot how to adjust the aperture setting in M mode. Your full tutorial is the only one I needed too. Just got an old used Canon D400, has the STM 50mm lens. Great for a newb like me.
It like having you in my kit bag, if I’m out doing whatever, I can bring up your videos and find out and understand easily in five minutes what I need to know, it’s great!
Thank you so much for explaining this in "plain English" I learned SO MUCH just from watching this video. I have had this camera since 2015 and just now I learn the basics from you. I am so grateful! I will watch the rest of your videos.
So I noticed on the auto mode on my EOS Rebel T6i, it can take a photo with an ISO at 4000. But how can that be, I cant find a way anywhere in any of the settings to get the ISO at 4000. The only ISO settings available are in preset increments. Any idea how I would go about setting my ISO to 4000?
An interesting question and one I'm afraid I cannot answer for you. I don't have a T6i but you could try going to the menu > Custom functions > Exposure level increments.
Thanks for the help in this video. We just bought a Canon EOS 3000D. Our first DSLR. Went to the Canon web site that wouldn't open. Found you channel and found some answers to what we wanted. Thanks again for us in New Zealand 🇳🇿

Agree with the rest of comments. You have a very clear, organized, and easy to understand way to break down all the steps. Thank you. I'm definitely going to watch your other videos!
I'm a beginner in photography, basically just looking for a hobby. This is the easiest explanation and how-to video about the exposure triangle and I've paid several Udemy classes already. Much thanks!
The best video I have come accross. Explanation is simple to understand, illustrations are perfect. Thanks man. I hope you have more of this on your channel.
Oh thank you thank you thank you. I am a NEWBIE with a canon t6i and this is so helpful. My partner in crime is skilled with a camera, but I am just learning and this was so helpful!!!!!

OMG you are great at explaining how to use the camera by a beginner. The best way is to Actually Show us, while explaining what each part is. I watched a couple of videos, the definitions were good, but the demonstrations were poor or not shown at all. Thank you Thank you!!!
You are a consummate communicator. You explained this in clear, concise, and easy to understand terms 👍.
Thank you very much, your kind words are very much appreciated 😀
I totally agree. His skill in explaining is why I watch his videos and recommend his channel to others.
Thank you Brian.
Absolutely agree. Pure information, clearly stated, no fuss or rambling about. Much appreciated!
❤❤❤
If Canon doesn't sponsor this guy, they should. Clear, Concise, and Accurate without pomp or fluff. Amazing, thank you.
Honestly, thank GOD for this. I got this for Christmas, and knew nothing. Now I’m excited to play with it!!!
I know!! He's awesome!
It's amazing what you can learn in 10 minutes from a RUclips video than a semester of film school paying thousands of dollars
Been in school for film for 4 years and still lost about this... hence why I looked for this video. I feel you 😭😭🙏🖤
Indeed.
Literally can learn anything on youtube
Sadly true, we’ve moved past this in school nearly two months ago and this is my first time truly understanding it.
Amen!
You are the only one that made me understand everything. Really thank you

That applies for me 100%🙂
Summary:
-Low ISO: ~200
-Wide Aperture: F3.5 to 5.6
-Shutter Speed: If Sunny/Bright-> Faster; If Indoor-> Slower
depends on what shot you’re trying to do, for most portraits yeah
How do you get your aperture down to F 3.5? My Canon T 5i only goes down to F5.0
@@ChooChooRosenbloom It is lense dependent, you need a different lense.
@@ChooChooRosenbloom It depends on the capability of the LENS, not the camera. If you want to to a lower aperture (like something smaller than a F/5.0, you will need to buy a different lens that allows that setting. @@ChooChooRosenbloom if you pick up a Canon “nifty 50” or 50 mm prime lens for portraits, you can get one that opens to 1.8 for around $125!
