Fun stories about what you DIDN'T see on this episode......... 1) We had to reshoot us finding that NZXT PSU because we found it after Raymond missed us finding it, so it lead to some big laughs. 2) After getting the 2tb Inland SSD, one of the awesome reps saw what we had left on our budget and threw out the idea of switching from that i9 bundle to a 7800X3D bundle for $100 more, which we took advantage of. 3) We spent A LOT of time trying to choose a case, about nearly 20 mins. lol 4) The outburst of chuckling after seeing our cashier trying to scan that old Corsair fan. We laughed for a cool 10 mins straight. A massive thank you to @GregSalazar (Let's get Greg to 900k!!!) and the incredible folks at the Charlotte @MicroCenter for making this happen. Was it worth the 3.5 hour drive from eastern NC, YES! Also @MicroCenter, please come to RALEIGH!
Agree with the guys above, great build and very good use of the budget. Love the old build as well, the Sabertooth mobos are my favorite, too bad they stopped producing them.
@coreyweaver1129 just checked Google maps, and it says 3hr 45mins.. I'm in the UK.. so I have no idea what the road is like there and what sort of traffic volumes to expect. Anyway, it's still a long way to see Greg.
@tonyupham354 I used to live in Charleston which is farther away and could make it in 2.5 hours. I checked Google Maps also. I'm confused about how Myrtle Beach is a 4 hr drive when it's geographically closer than I was in Charleston.
I have and I made an GPU upgrade to an RTX 4070 a few days ago thanks to a Prime Day sale! Trust me when I say this, when you walk in that store for the first time like I did, that smile won't leave your face. - Sean

Good job Microcenter, thanks for the generosity of being able to do this to the people who got PC upgrades and also Microcenter Gift Cards whilst you were there. That last build was really good, wasn't expecting that platform, I was expecting Intel, but then again the 7800X3D will outperform a 12900K so I'm not surprised. Looking forward to the next one - and it's a shame we don't have Microcenter's in the UK because we really need something like this!
I love the switch to the 7800x3d .. I bought that exact bundle at the Columbus MicroCenter in February and it's been FANTASTIC! What a great finish to season 3 of Gear Up!
shoutout to Micro Center for gifting all these upgrades and give Greg a great source of content. Without Micro Center we would not get videos like this or have great brick and mortar stores during a time where amazon is killing them.
That was a really good use of budget imo. I didn’t think the white/black/blue combo would work but it actually looked quite good. He made a great co host as well I’m happy this guy got picked. Look forward to more episodes future hopefully 🙏
@@cellss0138 You'll love it! I had a 5800x3d and upgraded to the 7800x3d solely to wait for the 9800x3d. You're in DDR5 territory now! And w/ 13th and 14th gen Intel being such a mess, it was the clear best choice! You're gonna LOVE it!! Next up, 4070 super! :)
This video really topped off the end of the season. He chose wisely and smart to build a great rig. He definitely didn't seem camera shy either. Great series hands down.
Awesome build, no $ wasted and even looks good as a bonus. Love the old build too, the Sabertooth motherboards were my favorite but in black, got z77, z97, z170 and x99 Sabertooth mobos in my collection, right now running a 4790k on the z97 board as my second PC, the rest are in a display case with other boards and GPUs.
What a series man. Hopefully more in the future! Glad to see another person happy with another rig. Thanks to you and Micro Centre, these people have the rigs that they and many others could only dream about. Thank you Greg for another great series!

pretty good one for putting the end to the series. hopefully we get to see this again in the future in other stores. always interesting to see what builds walk in and the choices ppl make for upgrading. maybe we can see the 900$ cap streak get broken and see what is possible with the 1200$ one. take care both and have a safe flight back home 🥰

It was a great season. I live in the Raleigh, NC area so difficult to justify the gas to drive there. Plenty of open space for retail location in Garner or Clayton for an RDU Microcenter btw. Red Hat, Google, and Meta have campuses here that would be more than willing to buy at Microcenter.
Very cool, now I wish they would put a Microcenter in the Raleigh/Cary area, seems like it would be a great place for one right by Research Triangle Park and with three major universities nearby.

This is definitely my favourite type of content you do Greg. It's upbeat and exciting to see what you and the lucky guys (contestants?) put together. And I think I can speak for mostly everyone watching that it makes those without a Microcenter very jealous. It's also a big win for Microcenter because it shows them they will basically have a goldmine whenever and wherever they put a store. Come on MC, Mesa or Tempe Arizona should be next. NOT Phoenix, and definitely NOT Scottsdale! Mesa or Tempe, because it's more central for everyone.

We just bought that 7800X3D combo but it was $499.99 at the MC in Michigan. And the MB is an Asus TUF Gaming B650-E WiFi instead of the Gigabyte in the video. It's a good thing my son isn't a fan of RGB since nothing in that combo has any. I cleared my cache and found a MC pop-up offering a coupon for $15 off $30 or more, but it was for new customers only. This is the first time hearing about the Lian Li 206. I have a white Lian Li 216 and love it. A front mounted magnetic dust filter only cost me $8.99+tax+3.94 shipping at NE but that was back in March 2023. I've had so many Corsair fans where the RGB failed that I've stopped wasting my money on them anymore.
