Those vise grips with the bit is the right way. No need to take wheels off, same as the Camaro I used a small socket and like a 7?mm good video man

I have a ‘22 and it looks exactly like your fitment. Supposedly the bottom screw location changed for ‘22 hence the downward angle you mentioned. Didn’t mind it. More important for me to protect the rear paint. Already had one small chip on the driver side before install.

Looks like the screws are stainless steal. Probably the best you can do unless there are plastic screws the same size. A little bit of black paint on the head (and underneath it) would help a lot with looks and maybe a bit with corrosion (tho water can still get into the threads).

looks like that rear has enough of a lip to add a 1/4" 3m tape to really hold it tight to the body
