@@uStar_888 I follow Spudgun for quite some time so I can say with confidence: He is a chill dude, pretty much the opposite of toxic. you should almost never buy anything paradox puts out on release. Their games and dlc rven the new ones are constantly on sale and also usually it takes 1 - 2 dlcs for the games to be decently fleshed out.
I think so far the strangest change is that you could play the entire game and not look at events even once. It's almost like they don't even want you to since their off minimized in a corner of the screen with no real alert to it, which is funny cause as Spud mentioned, that's the best action in the game. Just literally never click on them and the game automatically picks whichever option has the least impact, and to that end, every event has a option that's basically non-impactful in the slightest just to make this actually work. Also I love that I can actually speak my opinion here and not have a bunch of mindless idiots spouting the same shit at me like they even have a fucking clue what they are talking about on the paradox reddit.
It's better than that. You can spend the first 10 years setting the economy up, then just put the buildings on auto build and leave. The game plays itself. I got in the top 8 while I went out for lunch
Speaking of Bokoen, I remember a year ago, give or take, he did a video on Humankind's multiplayer when it came out. But that video was EXTREMELY negative on the game, calling out many of the game's problems in the text opening and 99% of the video was showing off how broken multiplayer was and the technical issues the game suffered. Something else I noticed is that he says the stream he captured the footage from wasn't sponsored 🤔 If he was willing to tear Humankind apart for how broken and unfinished it was, I wonder why he wasn't willing to do the same for Victoria 3? Sarcasm aside, when saw those first 2 Victoria 3 videos he did, I was really confused why they didn't do more war. He and his friends are usually really quick to grief each other any chance they get. Then I saw your videos and found out why. Keep it up PotatoFirearm.

Like we are so lucky that modern gaming companies are known for releasing polished and fully fledged out games. I really am not surprised this game is just an example of the new industry strategy of live service games. I had hoped that the military would be a version of HOI4 and EU4 to demonstrate the transition from individual host armies to armies encompassing a literal front line. Vic2 had old UI, and unit management was aids. Having to micromanage each unique individual unit into stacks was too much especially when you have to plan mobilization or demobilization. But to remove any involvement in war is insane.
One good thing about Vicky 3 is all the filing cabinet jokes. Still not worth the AAA price though. Like it's worth buying if it were like 15 maybe 20 bucks. There's enough humor there for that price.
The war system now that i think about it seems much more appropriate if put in the modern setting, where instead of somewhat clear and manageable division into divisions, armies or whatever you can even assign a "unit" to, we now have a clusterfuck of different sized autonomous, semi autonomous and combined arms "troop groops" that differ drastically from country to country- which makes it impossible to stimulate with a regular paradox unit fiddling on a strategic level while maintaing any amount of accuracy. So i think this simplified system might work for that, really look forward for a milenium dawn type mod for vic3
Cracked the game, played with a friend, I was Australia and he was South Africa. Experience: Economy crash(tho it was our fault) No idea what's going on(tho it was our fault) Tried the new war system and for the first few battles it was ok(we won everything thanks to UK) Crashed after 45 mins and we never launched it afterwards
I ran through central america as the US with machineguns in the 1860's, puppeting everything. The game needs some extreme polishing. I feel like it is ok, I'll keep playing it every once and awhile, but it's not something like EU4 where I can always find something to do.
I do wish I would've saved my money, but I wanted to see what it was like and tell others what I think about it. Should've got one of the other things that's about to come out.
All those jokes about Vic2 being an Excel Simulator were funny. Until they've made a Vic3. In Vic2 I've never played as a communist because I hate to mannualy build all of my economy. In Vic3 they have made this shit a core mechanic !

Thought it was a pretty good point.
I had high hopes for vic3 at the start, hoping i could finally have a good chance to join the vic2 mp community at a time when i wouldn't feel my game knowledge to be lacking. I guess in the end i gotta bite the bullet and learn vic2 anyway.

But b-but spudgun THIS CANT BE TRUE?!?!! Bokoen told me to pre order the game implying it was a good and stable game for multiplayer!?!?! Reddit bros we got too cocky…..😭😭

40 minutes of pain and suffering during the “most peaceful period in history”
In a game set in the era where naval power was so important there's...nothing to be noticed about navies. They some how made this brand new game have the worst naval system out of all of their games.
I think Convoy raiding is far too weak, even with the Convoy raiding production methods.
You should be able to heavily impact another country's trade routes and market access to overseas territory with a stronger navy, but I've only managed small dents so far.
I bet that the devs, sponsored shills, and the more apologetic part of the fanbase instead of listening to your valid criticism will just mark you as "toxic" and a nutjob. Just like CA did to Volund and other Total War youtubers who speak against the current direction the franchise is going.
Something I always like to remember is the quote from the bungie documentary of them making halo: "We are the jaded crowed. If a game does interest us for 5 minutes we stop playing it" The best game devs are the ones that are most critical of their own work.
just like media with Kanye
I think they will mark him as a toxic and nutjob not because of his opinions on Victoria 3 but rather because he really is toxic and a nutjob lmao
I mean Im also very critical of the game but this guy is really trying very hard to shit on literally anything in this video.
@@uStar_888 I follow Spudgun for quite some time so I can say with confidence: He is a chill dude, pretty much the opposite of toxic.
And his criticism of V3 is reasonably harsh considering he predominantly plays in multi. I can see why someone rates Vicky 3 around 6/7.5 out of 10 based on singleplayer alone (I would disagree but I can understand why someone has a such opinion). But multiplayer is absolutely fucking broken.
You know what’s even worse about their “19th century being the most peaceful in human history “ take, now that I had time to think about it. I’m pretty sure the largest wars in North American (U.S. Civil War), South American (Paraguayan War), and Chinese (Taiping HK Rebellion) history all occurred during the 19th century. That quote now screams eurocentrism.
Napoleon was an emperor of peace
Yo Spud, maybe it is really possible to encircle navies this time?
Yeah i believe theres an encircle navy button now
Naval battles don't exists.
The AI cant do naval invasions either. Played as Sokoto, took a Russian colony before they could mobilise and then just waited for ticking warscore. Then did the same to France and the UK. They literally cant use the naval invasion function. By the way those colonies were on the coast.
@@Sinaeb Nope, there are naval battles, I once tried to naval invade Portugal as DEI but then got kicked out by the Portuguese Navy

Virgintoria 3 simplified war system for babies and broken multiplayer
Chadtoria 2 skill issues for based people and rehost for analysis for the war
The war system isn’t even simplified it’s just bad. What is simpler than clicking on a troop and right clicking where you want it to move? I guess opening up a menu to open up another menu to click on a border is simpler.
everyone saying that is just sad they can’t game the ai. the new system means you can’t just conquer every one without making preparations
@@thecaveman6946 You can game the AI still using naval invasions, or you keep them in a war until they’ve absolutely decimated their economy because they mobilised their entire population. The system is objectively bad, especially when comparing it to any other paradox war system.
@@thecaveman6946 I watched the Feedback gaming video of VIC III. In it, he lost two armies in Canada to the American AI and the Americans sieges down the war goal. The US then lost the war after Feedback did literally nothing. The US spent about 12,000,000 pounds and then lost New York and Massachusetts while Feedback did literally nothing.
It does not make war require more strategy.
@@mykxl I dont understand how difficult it would've been if Paradox just ported the combat from Imperator:Rome and reskinned it. There would've been no huge debacle about it unless its about the tactics button (Basically rock, paper, scissors in the images of animals) which would either be removed or replaced with something else. So stupid honestly.
I waited long time for CK3 for my first Paradox game. Loved CK3. Waited for Vic3 because it looked abit more streamlined than Vic2. Now i feel like i should just get Vic2 instead.
you should almost never buy anything paradox puts out on release. Their games and dlc rven the new ones are constantly on sale and also usually it takes 1 - 2 dlcs for the games to be decently fleshed out.

"You guys wanna see a rebellion?"
mfw pogba says he wants to continue next week after a meme session
I enjoyed bokoen's video but this one is even funnier because I never imagined MP would be so utterly broken lmao
Even the turania game wasn't this unstable
I kept going through that game because the nation building, economy and wars I fought were brilliant

Thank God Boken1 gave an honest opinion and view of what the game was like there is no way he'd lie to us for money. Because when big corporations give massive NDA agreements that means the game is good and can stand up on its own. There will be nothing that anyone can scrutinize this game is just perfect and I can't see paradox forcing DLC down our throats to fix or add features to this game. Like we are so lucky that modern gaming companies are known for releasing polished and fully fledged out games. Anyways Victoria 3 has nothing wrong with it at all aren't we all so happy they focused more on the economy this go around so well. I really am not surprised this game is just an example of the new industry strategy of live service games. That are released unfinished and unpolished just so they can fix it over the next few years for a fee from your wallet of course.
Ngl, bokoens video did really sway me into impulsively buying the game, and honestly... ...

I had hoped a transition from EU3 to HOI3 😉
As long as the combat width changed by tech they could have just copied in the hoi system and it would have worked fine
Vic 2 micro isnt that hard.
Its only hard when you are in multiplayer and need every compositional advantage possible.

Whoever said the filling cabinet joke for when you were freaking out about going into debt was hilarious

I ran through central america as the US with machineguns in the 1860's, puppeting everything. The game needs some extreme polishing. I feel like it is ok, I'll keep playing it every once and awhile, but it's not something like EU4 where I can always find something to do.

2) i can see how the game can get boring. i’m still having alot of fun in our campaign, but i could see how if you have 20 hours in single player it wouldn’t be fun
3) rehosting, obviously. me and my friends played for 6 1/2 hours and rehosted 3 times, def need to work on that
