Except it doesn't because most arms companies rely on civilian branches. There is a reason so many mergers happened like McDonnel and Douglas as the former was focused on the arms industry and couldn't stay afloat so it merged with Douglas which was a company with a stable position in the commercial market.

It requires a lot of investment in R&D and you are never perfectly sure you will keep selling weapons, additionally if a rival manages to get the deal you have been investing for, you can't simply sell your stuff somewhere else to recuperate your losses. Having a civil branch allows you to better compensate for failed ventures. Many companies like Krupp or Beretta were arms sellers for centuries who then developped civilian branches when war became more of an occasionnal avenue of profit.

According to your logic any Paradox game safe EUIV and HOIIV would be failures since Bo doesn't play them, he wasn't an avid CK2 or Vic2 player either. It fully depends on the individual. Bo likes HOIIV and EUIV, ISP likes CK3, VicII and HOIIV, Laith likes EUIV and VicIII, the list goes on. Some are more prone to corruption than others but all like different games. The only unanimous pronouncement was for Imperator and even in that case I am certain you can find some Imperator youtubers who are sometimes playing HOIIV or CKIII because of a sponsorship. It is certain VicIII and HOIIV are somewhat opposites, but to someone like me who prefers CKII both are dumbed down Paradox games who's mechanics have been simplified to reach a wider audience. @@JohnnyCash101 maybe for most games, but for grand strategies where you have to keep thousands of values in sync every tick between many different players and run at a decent speed, it can actually be very tricky. You try coding a system that keeps everything in sync and is decently playable, it is hard track down all of the sources of desync, patch them in a way to avoid creating more issues, while also keeping things running at playable speeds.
It’s nice. I just wish it was more for funnies and less for protecting his sponsored opinion that Vicky 3 is a fine game and merits no criticism in his videos, a take few people agree with.

Been playing Vic, first 2 now 3, for years and I can't tell you how happy I am to hear they fixed hot joining. Would have honestly been overjoyed for that alone, the updates to warfare are just icing on the cake!

Even with the war changes, I still hate how every war is modeled like WW1 trench warfare. Even in the brothers war and franco-prussian war, armies were still highly mobile and fought in Napoleonic style battles. The brothers war or opium war shouldn't be a million casualty death war with static front lines, its just anachronistic and makes every conflict a chore
@@Bokoen1im pretty sure its overtuned by a lot. When the update came out i went to play a germany game solo, and ended up fighting the Russians and Austrians at the same time. I had about 2 or 300 thousand men, the ai had around the same, the frontline was stretched starting in Saxony and ending in the Baltic sea, yet both me and the ai lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers to attrition, while losing maybe half what we were losing to attrition to actual battles. Maybe im missing something too, but im pretty damn sure attrition is just overtuned to be 5-10x worse than what it realistically should be
@@tuxtitan780yeah the attrition is that you always get 2% no matter the terrain, and generals also each increase attrition still I believs, there have been a ffew complaints in the Vic 3 discord and they might change that with the next update already as they confirmed that war updates will come after q.5 as well as they couldn't fit everything in. Though I do agree, I'd love for early tame to be less front like amd more napoleonic
Cetainly better than Super Germany in 1840, steam-rolling europe in the average Vic 2 game, or the 16 million other exploits and bugs Vic 2 has, which you obviously like to ignore.
So excited to see the eventual multi-part game in Vicky 3. Would absolutely love to see some videos in the same like as the Balkan campaign you, Swimmy, and Braun did as Romania, Yugo, and Greece. Possibly in another region like Scandinavia or South America.

I'll be real, the casualties weren't from actual combat. It was mainly attrition, which is either overtuned or we don't understand the system.
