Edit: For those shitting on Thomas here’s some explanation. Thomas promised not to micro the eastern front because it was new USSR players. Thomas’s coop wasn’t up for the task alone(which also wasn’t fair and that’s on me) so after a year or two of him getting shit on, Thomas stepped in and helped.

It's like a wacky reverse-universe where the entire German general staff collapsed into a coma for 4 years while every other member of the axis chadded up and formed the A-Team, then immediately spend the next 10 minutes screaming at each other.

it's especially funny because IRL Germany had an Ost-Bataillone ("Eastern Battalion", made up of volunteers & conscripts from the USSR) on the D-day wall, and US soldiers captured at least 4 asians on Utah beach that were assumed to be Japanese. So there were probably some troops asking that question

This was a great, cursed game. When Golden's hands disappeared and didn't put the navy on strike force he was microing Europe and India at the same time. Braun had to hold the Eastern Front for a year as Romania, and Bo kept repelling the D-Days. Golden and Bo screaming for air support is what the whole last hour of the game was like on stream. This was the Axis team's finest hour.

So in short:
Braun got told to save the Eastern Front, and he actually did. (So did everyone else, except Germany.)
Golden saved the Axis.
A co-op Germany did less than Genkars as Finland even though he capped in 42.
Bo formed the Italian Ghost Division.
And the rest of the Axis managed to hold Africa and the Eastern Front and multiple D-Days without German support.

Together with Bulgaria in the North, we held off all Allied tanks on D-Day, while the Italians and Spanish took credit for the victory from the South
Golden 100% saved the day multiple times. If he hadn't brought his entire army to Europe, the Axis would have collapsed. If he hadn't helped to invade Russia, the Axis would have collapsed. If he hadn't moved his fleet into the Mediterranean, the Axis would have collapsed. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Golden deserves more positive credit for his role this game.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that from the start of Barbarossa Thomas did practically nothing the rest of the game causing the ensuing chaos or the fact that the Allies tried like 4 D-Days and lost every single one of them despite making enormous gains each time, all the while the Axis was in total chaos
Or that Italy didn't shoot Mussolini despite losing all his manpower to the point he was just one or two ranks from Scraping The Barrel.
Italy real life: worst Axis nation, soldiers run or retreat, made fun of, terrible weapons and low morale coupled with bad generals and politician, suffering defeat after defeat only to then become strong when fighting against the Axis
Italy this game: literal Chad to the the Virgin Germany, suffers more casualties in the war than Italy had on any war combined, won battle after battle with weapons that outmatched the Allies and never broke.
Thomas couldn't micro because they made a deal with the Soviet players that it would only be his co-op microing, since the Soviets were brand-new players and so having an experienced player curb stomp them would be BS.

Braun and Golden become the saviors and competent men of Europe. Golden even takes Paris. Then he pisses it away by letting Italy get invaded. Really kept getting me guessing on who was going to win that.
I just imagine the Japanese, Siamese, Manchuko, Italian, and Spanish armies collectively screaming non-stop as they climb on trains hauling ass between Western and Eastern Europe snuffing out Allied counter attacks only to repeat the process a couple weeks later when Germany collapses yet again on the opposite front.
All screaming in different languages not knowing what the guys on the same train are saying.
Meanwhile the Hungarians, Bulgarians, Romanians and probably Finnish exiles desperately hold back the Soviet forces.

Even when forced back to just above Scraping The Barrel, still continues the fight defeating every enemy army it faces. Meanwhile, Japan defeats China and kills the American fleet, again a reverse from both historical and AI.

Pressure I suppose. Getting shouted at for hours probably made them afraid to do or say anything, locking up their game performance. I say this because they were still relatively talkative at the start, but by the end they were dead silent. It's really evident in the large Mediterranean naval battle, where not a single word was spoken despite everyone screaming at them.
There were ups and downs in the story. Relationships were made and relationships were destroyed, there were Villains and there were Heroes. However, in the end one thing we can all agree on is where the fuck was Germany this game?

I’ll be honest this game has the emotions of a rollercoaster. I loved just watching every asset of the axis army being taken away. Like watching the Italian manpower just drain and the Japanese-Italian fleet be decimated.

On a technical skill level, Golden is actually one of their best players (I'd rank him similar to Bo). Golden just likes trying wild new strategies instead of always doing the same thing, and I can't blame him for that. It's boring using the same exact same strategy every single game. On bad days, this comes across as trolling, but when the crazy ideas work out it's glorious.

In the most recent game on stream, Golden became the first and only player to fully capitulate Mexico, the USA, and Canada all at the same time as Japan. Fr his Japan games are always a wild ride.
Golden thrives when he has to do as little teamwork as possible. He's a godlike Japan and a really good US, but fucking terrible Germany and UK.
The context for the navy stuff was that he was flipping through Leningrad, D-Day, and India all at once trying to save everything. He really really did not have the hands to even try.

You know with the exception of Germany this was the most competent axis ever. If there was ever a way to fight a coalition war it was this.
Japan uses Manchukuo to unite China and help Siam take India to Iran, takes Australia, and then gets shipped off to Europe to help repel a D-Day invasion in the West as well as fight in the East. Oh and of course guard Italy in the Mediterranean. And of course Siam and China are helping in the East as well.
And in Europe you have Spain helping out in the East as well, Italy guarding the Atlantic and fighting off D-Day invasions, and Romania basically holding that Eastern front mostly by itself until reinforcements arrived from East Asia.
I don't know how else you genuinely try to team up to take on the world because this is how you do it.
So for real, what the hell WAS Thomas doing the entire game. Why the hell did he just unplug his keyboard. He didn’t even look like he was trying to play the game at all.

This is probably the best bokoen video to date. Between Thomas completely throwing the game and Italy and Japan carrying Europe on their backs with blood, sweat and absolute sheer adrenaline while Spain held Africa and helped in D day, Hungary helped D day and the eastern front and Romania basically solo held the eastern front. FOR OVER A YEAR. The entire axis squad chadded up so god damn hard and if germany was at least doing anything other than sit still they would've dominated that game
Though historians of the day may say that the loss of German high command should have resulted in an axis loss and the resulting eastern reinforcements nothing less than a miracle one must remember that it was a combined effort. From Romainian doctrine of "not one step back, only forward into hell" to the single biggest naval battle in world history from the Japanese in the Mediterranean. With of course the herculean logistical feat of moving all the infantry forces of the minor western axis powers between not only the Russian hordes but the western allies unwavering determination to free Europe. It is not hyperbole to state this war was not won by a single action as one might think of in say a sprint. But a marathon of impossible and frankly insane actions which would have seen lesser commanders break from stress. When we look back and call this a World War one need look no further then the previous records stated to see how this war above all others will stand the test of time as one that will remain unforgettable.

This is the best episode I've seen during my YEARS of watching this series every day a new one comes out. An absolute rollercoaster of emotions with a constant uncertainty of which driving force would prevail, the german incompetence or the combined axis resolve even with all the drama.

This is literally every axis member merging their single braincells into one collective consciousness, only to have it tear itself apart as they collectively lose their shit, only to reunite and pull off the final victory!
Yeah, this is probably Bo's best Hoi4MP in a nutshell ever. The arguing, the throwing, the back and forth invasions and the seemingly impossible victory this CLUSTERFUCK OF AN AXIS got. It's just unbelievably good

This reminds me of the time Hitler was out cold after taking some hard drugs while the Allies were landing in Normandy.
And he had previously ordered all matters concerning the Atlantic wall would have to go through him first.
So everyone was panicking on trying to decide whether to wake him up or not while the troops at the beaches were panicking with no direction for a bit.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I saw someone say that the soviets and the germany co-op were new players. So Thomas was allowing the Soviets to have a chance (which probably explains why they were being held off by just Braun as mf Romania), and it also explains why the Germany co-op wasn't doing too well since it was his first time having to micro so hard.
This was a fucking treat. The Golden and Bo rants really remind me of the older videos in the series, back when everybody was screaming at each other. Good stuff.

i was expecting a coupe from all the minours too take germanys stuff but this ended better then expected. Hands down the MVP Award goes to Golden for saving you guys. Keep uo the work lads your vid are always the funniest when it comes to you guys'
