No, College was right at the end of the video. In forbidding players from stacking too many armor bridages, players are forced to use infantries to make up for the breakthrough losses. Therefore, a artillery only build can easily disorg "armor division" filled with infantries.

Self-propelled artillery (also called locomotive artillery) is artillery equipped with its own propulsion system to move toward its firing position. Within the terminology are the self-propelled gun, self-propelled howitzer, self-propelled mortar, and rocket artillery. They are high mobility vehicles, usually based on continuous tracks carrying either a large field gun, howitzer, mortar, or some form of rocket/missile launcher. They are usually used for long-range indirect bombardment support on the battlefield.
In the past, self-propelled artillery has included direct-fire vehicles, such as assault guns and tank destroyers, which were typically well-armoured vehicles often based upon the chassis of a tank. In lieu of the standard tank's general-purpose main gun that fired both high explosive and anti-tank ammunition, direct-fire vehicles had specialized roles, with assault guns providing close fire-support for infantry and tank destroyers mounting an anti-tank gun to take on enemy armour.
Modern self-propelled artillery vehicles often mount their main gun in a turret on a tracked chassis so they superficially resemble tanks. However they are generally lightly armoured which is insufficient to withstand direct-fire combat, nonetheless this protects their crews against shrapnel and small arms and are therefore usually included as armoured fighting vehicles. Many are equipped with machine guns for defense against enemy infantry.
The key advantage of self-propelled over towed artillery is that it can be brought into action much faster. Before the towed artillery can be used, it has to stop, unlimber and set up the guns. To move position, the guns must be limbered up again and brought-usually towed-to the new location. By comparison, self-propelled artillery can stop at a chosen location and begin firing almost immediately, then quickly move on to a new position. This shoot-and-scoot ability is very useful in a mobile conflict and particularly on the advance in open battlefields
Conversely, towed artillery was and remains cheaper to build and maintain. It is also lighter and can be deployed in areas that self-propelled guns cannot reach. Since the Vietnam War, heavy transport helicopters have also been used for rapid artillery deployment albeit at considerable expense and risk, mitigating one of towed artillery's disadvantages. Both self-propelled and towed artillery remain in the arsenals of many modern armies.
On paper, SPGs are superior to towed artillery because of the "shoot and scoot" that makes them safer from counter battery fire. Also they can keep up with a rapidly moving frontline much more quickly. However, this doesn't make them inherently the best choice. Towed artillery has two distinct advantages.
1) The first being cost. On average, you can buy three towed artillery pieces for the price of a single SPG. And in war, you would much rather have three distinct artillery battalions covering triple the area, compared to a single set of SPGs that can't cover the entire front line.
2) The other issue is much larger though. It is MUCH easier to maintain towed artillery since there are far very few moving parts and everything is easily accessible. With an SPG and it's internal systems, if something in the firing mechanism jams it is going to be out of service for weeks as it has to return to a maintenance depot and have much of it disassembled to get at the faulty part inside. There are also simply more things to break, be it a transmission, a loose track, or a loss of engine power. There are hundreds of moving parts and if any one of them fails the entire gun is out of action for a long time. With towed artillery, there are few moving parts so very little can break, and when a part _does_ break it can be fixed in the field by just swapping out the part with very little labor and without having to even take the gun off the field.
A proper army will use both, as you said, generally attaching a few valuable SPGs to rapid response units while having the bulk of their artillery be the towed kind that assist the mainline infantry divisions.

I feel like most people SERIOUSLY underestimate SPGs. Everyone knows to include artillery in their divisions but no one ever does SPGs.
SPGs aren't just armored artillery, they also have like double the attack stat of artillery! They give you utterly INSANE soft attack (in addition to armor).
Screw basic artillery. Put one or two SPGs in your division template and they will cut through infantry like a hot knife through butter.
