Love your music.
This "Sorgh pa Svarte Vingar Flogh" is such a black metal masterclass
Dawn is fucking fantastic! You guys kick ass!
Obtained Enslavement, along with Forgotten Woods, is easily one of the most underrated bands of the second wave.
I apologize my language, but Witchcraft is so fucking top-notch I can't even return to some of those albums I considered "good" or "great" back in the day. That album raised the bar all the way to the outer space, absolutely fucking brilliant work of art. Timeless, effective and highly addictive.
Very outstanding collection
Great list! I enjoyed watching the sped-up video of you searching through the collection for your picks... This looks kind of fun, I may do this as well.... Thanks!
Just by the title I already love this video
Dimmu Stormblast....it's a great album. I actually prefer this album to the re-recorded version.Love the dark primitive sound to it, and atmosphere. Brings back memories of living in the country side in the South west of England, and driving through the spruce filled woods, and country lanes at 5:00am with the mist settling over the fields . A great part of the country for folklore and legends.
Mad respect mann, You're a true Metalhead 🤘
Since no one else mentioned it, Judas Iscariot from DeKalb, IL which is my neck of the woods. So cool to see a band from this area get some love and they are absolutely fantastic!
I love lists like this its always intressting too see what albums make it =)
Thanks dude 🤘
Thank you for introducing me to Obtained Enslavement to me \m/
Great list, I'd add 'Frost' by Enslaved.
Why the hell do people consider early dissection a death metal band? They are obviously melodic black metal
Agree to disagree?
Solid list dude. Some new bands I gotta listen to. Thanks
Thanks! Let me know what new discoveries you make!
Two Hunters and Diadem of Twelve Stars are two absolutely fucking amazing albums
And this Dawn thing ripped my face off
Dawn were one of the best! New album out soon I hear.
I'm kinda new to Black metal, but my favorite albums are so far:
Storm of the Light's Bane
At the Heart of Winter
De Mysteriis dom Sathanas
A Blaze In the Northern Sky
Bergtatt
To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding
Blood Fire Death
Far Away from the Sun
Onwards to the Spectral Defile
Opus IV.
Check out Amestigon and the rest of the Austrian Black Metal Syndicate if you're into Abigor.
@@zlodrim9284 Thanks, Amestigon sounds pretty goood
Yeah they are amazing
Samuel Saarinen All I can say is check out Darkspace and Xasthur
Pure awesomeness \m/ \m/
Out epics everything that ever epiced! Dawn awesome stuff got that on cd 🤘🏼dimmu burger 🍔 lol stormblast awesome riffing yeah ulver capitel: III
After listening to you talk about how witchcraft is one of the best black metal albums, I had to check it out for myself and my god it’s actually amazing haha!
I do not lie!
I’d be really interested to see someone do a video about doom metal classics.
Damn, some great picks, dude! I'm glad you made a video out of this instead of the boring ass lists we all did. Haha. But I totally forgot about how good that Obtained Enslavement album is. And it still pisses me off that I sold off my copy like 15 years ago when I was going through an anti-symphonic bm phase. Ugh...old me is a dickhead.
You should do a video of it, fella! And yeah man, for some reason I went through this phase in like 2002 where if it wasnt christ raping war metal, I got rid of it. SO DUMB.
Transylvanian Hunger ×10
These albums are colder than Stone Cold Steve Austin
Man, great video. Got what I came for - new shit to listen to! Thanks for Ulver. Digging that right this moment. Check out Watain's Legions of the Black Light - I'm sure you know about that but it's severely underrated and does the genre proud. Freaky shit though, and not for the faint o' spirit.
What's going on cool stuff bro great Albums I'm a huge IMMORTAL fan myself. Battles in the North was my top favorite. Now I'm learning twords pure Hallocaust Darkthrone is Awesome Panzerfaust is a masterpiece
first album is good before bedtime or perhaps a meditation session
great list think you have been through my record collection! loved the folk song! dont have the abigor one only their first just rectified that.
I like listening to Black Metal
How long have you been collecting
Two Hunters rule.
I guess you have the Hornix recordings boxset to have Opus IV on vinyl. Is it a nice set? I have been thinking about getting it. Seems to be the only way to get Opus IV, Apokalypse and Supreme Immortal Art on vinyl.
Yeah that box set is so killer. I paid like $90 for it when it first came out. I think you could get one on discogs for $200 or so.
Hello, will you do also death metal classics list?
Out of curiosity, how many items do you own?
I got all these records you listed, btw
Dude I'm watching this on shroom, and that fucking folk farming music on the intro makes me nuts.🤦🏾♂️
Bergtatt is a fantastic LP
I love this opening haha
nothing from deathspell omega? i've tried so hard to get into bm with synths and orchestration but i just can't do it...
Great band with some great records but not close to any of these.
Deathspell omega is top 5 for me in black metal, I love when black metal can actually be spooky and demonic and Deathspell is that for me. Also check out AKHLYS or nightbringer, creepy stuff
No Mayhem?
While they're an important band in the genre, I don't personally think any of their albums were that amazing really. The Deathcrush EP was great but everything else was just "OK". They set the standard for tone and atmosphere but they just fell short for me personally.
Excellent video man. Looks I will have to make my own list and post it later today! Inspired video young man.
Always a pleasure Michael, looking forward to seeing yours.
Very good ! ⛧👍
So no Dissection because too death metal, but Caladan Brood?. Woolves In,.... as classic, released 2007,. All the rest real classics - approved, ;)
Grandma bit a chunk out of someone's face.
Great list, but i would have added Nattferd by Ragnarok. Nobody talks about them..
i think cradle borrowed some of theer sound from Mystfier
Make more BM specific vids...if only for me Lol. I love these types of your videos man
Old video I know but how is Mutiilation not on this list? just as a whole.
Don't care for them.
@@brainsmasher666 That's fair, dude is divisive, still, can't deny he influenced black metal as we know it today.
@@brainsmasher666 Also if I may drop a recommendation for black metal since you're here, Arid is fucking ass shattering black metal.
Caladan Brood aren't black metal. Wolves in the Throne Room neither. Dissection is easily more black metal than either of those but you're correct to put them in death metal.
Aye, aye, cap'n
Good list!
I would replace Under a Funeral Moon with Transylvanian Hunger though.
Oddly enough, I'm not a big fan of Emperor... I could never get into them. And I'm not a supporter of some of the other artists on the list, but that's just me. Great picks mate.
Noi(s)ce!
mayhem😪
I hate our intro only because of one reason, I keep seeing THE BLACK cassette and I STUPIDLY traded the cd away. OMGF why did I do that??? It was not for even something KISS. UGHH. Anyway, I have VHS of Immortal on sale live in NYC at BB Kings 1999 if interested. Just and FYI. Now, I LOVE LOVE COF Principle of Evils but V Empire is better for me. Why not any WATAIN or Marduk? Two Black Metal bands I love, TRULY Love I hope you check out, if you have no already. Actually three bands. First being: Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult. PLEASE check them out, The have 4 ALBUMS and an EP. They are from Germany with the BEAUTIFUL and Truly Demonic Onielar on vocasl and guitar. The woman is better than most men. I suggest on youtube check out the live "The Dead Hate The Living" I take DNS any day of the week of Emperor. I still have to get the Judas Iscariot cd you held up. However my two favorite USA Black Metal bands are: Thy Infernal (long broken up) and Thornspawn. Thy Infernal for sure has some thrash elements but they are for me the best Black Metal band that ever was from the USA. I know about Bloodstorm, they are from my area but they are assholes. I refuse to support. Now THORNSPAWN are viscous, they are from San Anotnio and they have off the top of my head four full length's and about 6 splits. Check them out as well. Just do not listen to their interviews they are kind of....Sesame Street is a bit advanced for them. So why now Watain and Marduk? I am so happy you are not one of those people think you cannot be a fan of COF and Emperor. Also again check out: Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Thornspawn and Thy Infernal.
You put cradles principle of evil but didn't include Abyssos!? Otherwise your list is fuckin great! I actually hadn't heard some of the others but am now educated. Thanks!!
Also. I hate to critique because I'm only learning of some of this stuff through this vid but fuckin a is gorgoroth antichrist good! And that Dissection convo is def worth having! Total black!!!
thanks for watching!
Crazy choices. Thanks for leaning toward all that fruity stuff rather than picking that dumb Blasphemy garbage. ✊
Filosofem... Half of it sounds like Varg left his keyboard on the demo setting and recorded it.
Mayhem?,,i not see
Nope!
good list but dissection is more black metal than half of this list
🧐
Epic black metal
Skogen - I döden

>wolves in the throne room
WTF LMAO
I know right? How dare he like a band that you don't.
sorry man but most of these albums are not BM classics.maybe its your favorites but classics? no way.
oh ok.
